                                                                 Journey of Life

Life is a fleeting gift, a quest,
Where shadows dance to find their nest,
We rise and fall, like waves onshore,
Let`s hail the present, seek no more
Find beauty in strife, learn from tears,
As life is a journey, so dear.

Premium MemberTropical Summer

Tropical Summers, where the fruit is fresh
And sweat drips heavily upon the sand
Heat of the Summer clings tight to the flesh
When bodies lie on the sand getting tan
These days of Summer are dressed in wonder
As I sit cool in the shade of a palm
Where the sea breeze moves fronds, I sit under
Away from the beach, where the view is calm
I'll watch white waves as they come ashore
And count the ships on the horizon's line
I'll watch the gulls fight for scraps found onshore
See clouds to the East, an ominous sign
This is the place I came to retire
To rest beneath palms before I expire

Premium MemberCalifornia Atmospheric River

Gushing river's flow,
Rain cascades upon the land,
California soaks.

Clouds converge above,
Nature's tears fall, drenching earth,
Life's thirst quenched anew.

Parched landscapes await,
Nature's deluge on its way,
Respite from the drought.

Atmosphere flows,
River of wind and danger,
Coastal erosion.

Waves reach for the sky,
Hazardous winds onshore howl,
Nature's violent dance.

West Coast braces now,
High waves persistently crash,
Erosion's cruel touch.

                                             The Goal of Life

Is not life vain without a real goal
Like a sturdy ship sailing in deep sea?

Is someone just stripped of his soul,
Aware in life of his true role?

Isn`t wise to know which way to stroll
And find onshore a soothing shelter free.

Is not life vain without a real goal
Like a sturdy ship sailing in deep sea?

Footsteps

Footsteps
Trod in sands
Lines
Drawn by childrens’ hands

Smoothed by onshore winds
To exist
Though briefly
To be expunged
By rolling seas
To leave a canvas ready

For lines
Drawn by chuldrens’ hands
And footsteps
Trod in sands

Premium MemberYearlings Zigzag

Arctic bear cubs, den,
exiting frozen grounds halfway into June.
Keeping low,
mothers navigate onshore perils,
quietly roving.
Sensing they've uninvitedly violated
wildlife's Xenia,
yearlings zigzag.

Premium MemberUnbecoming Me

Couldn't have cared less, now I couldn't care more
Losing ego is unbecoming me
Setting small sparks in human hearts to soar

Naive and lost, I washed up onshore
Sowing seeds of wisdom across the sea
Couldn't have cared less, now I couldn't care more

One wanders inner thinking to explore
As a youth, I thought I knew how to be
Setting small sparks in human hearts to soar

So sure we're each the same at the core
Simple insights challenge philosophy
Couldn't have cared less, now I couldn't care more

Clarity of thought will always endure
Outside my bubble, I can clearly see
Setting small sparks in human hearts to soar

Facing the truth becomes the toughest chore
Turning to awareness shall set me free
Couldn't have cared less, now I couldn't care more
Setting small sparks in human hearts to soar

New Haiku

Haiku

Early evening
The day gives way tonight
The child cries.

Tranquil is the sea
Ripples onshore as tar
Absent is the wind

Autumnal darkness
Impatient winter waits
Storm knocks on windows

Frost cracks on timber
Snow makes the land secretive
Will there be a spring?

Spring after rain-fall
Aromatic is the landscape
Broods climbing trees

The Mystery Be

Mistral freedom o'er stakes waged before,
destined mortal souls their reposed earth,
spent sepulchers clips tales from postwar,
nonetheless, facts become one back door,
proves everywhere their tribute got worth,
bestill main doors naught their mailboxes,
the rumors naught onshore, farther berth,
winds from war, peace checks, paradoxes.

It's September

Time is born to unstoppable walk, unknown towards
End of summer, wandering now thru the fall season

Early autumn, the first month of tranquiller breeze
Blowing onshore winds west to the east touching all

Corn moon of the late summer there attends to shine
After every three years it rises bright in the night sky

Barley crops are smiling on the field of this month
Green to brown crops, mostly eaten in pearled form

Sapphire, the transparent precious blue stone its gem
As month’s birthstone it carries wisdom and integrity

Let a small hummingbird with shining blue come to me
Let the violet color in its plumage and tail hugs my entity

Premium MemberThe Hurricane

The hurricane leaped onshore
dancing with delight
unhinging the tops of buildings
releasing them into the air
like balloons
whose knots are untied
then kicking the hapless battered bottoms
far down the road
before spinning madly on

You Are Mine

Saints gave you souls of growing
Humans coined you a shape of flesh
The Sun made you bright and warming
The Moon decorated you soft and gentle

Your movings liked the willow dancing
In the stream and onshore, they're winding,
You are waiting and you are looking
For the lucked ones seduced to come

We deemed to meet each other somewhere
Within the periods of short-living time,
No matter it's determined or just by chance
Indeed when you are in front of me
I saw your eyes shining on my dream.

Oh Emerald, What a Rare Gem You Are

A rare gem you are,
Even the stars wonder what you are,
As priceless as your name,
Yet you don't struggle for fame,
In the hands of the poor you make him rich,
Not everyone can stretch out for your reach,
People who see you as a mere stone,
Are the ones who miss what you can bestow,
Oh Emerald, what a rare gem you are!!!

Kola lasts in the mouth of those who knows it value,
So you have dwelt with those who know your value,
You like being private, hence the diamond thinks it alone can vibrate,
A few can sing of your awe,
But I can write of your all,
For I have been influenced by your touch,
Your gentle, calm light has engulfed me like a pouch.
Oh Emerald, what a rare gem you are!!!

I held on to you and you took me onshore,
I swam against the tides even when hopes were unsure,
You are the little rock that gave me a purpose,
Hold on to me you said or drown alone I suppose,
My last stone slipped off my grip,
There you came, gave me support lest I trip,
Now I'm standing head high,
Because I have you held high.
Oh Emerald, what a rare gem you are!!!

Premium MemberSea Mail

I tossed ten notes to anyone, out to sea.
They were rolled up, tied with string and bottled.
Each one said:
"Hello, Hi Anyone! Tell me your name!".
"Also let me know the date, and when and where you found this note."
It was strange, the ten bottles went out to sea in three groups,
Three went North East, three straight East, and the last four headed South East.
It was as if, they knew where they were heading!
The charm of sending out sea mail in bottles
is in its fickle uncertainty and random fate.
You know not who, not where, not when, not even if ever,
anyone will find and read your notes.
For it all depend on drift and pick ups;
the whim of wind,
the vagaries of waves and chop,
the swirl and curl of current,
and the synergy of sea with seafarers and onshore folk.
