The hurricane leaped onshore dancing with delight unhinging the tops of buildings releasing them into the air like balloons whose knots are untied then kicking the hapless battered bottoms far down the road before spinning madly on

The balloons with untied knots is a very apt poetic image. Thank God, Chicago is far away from mess.

Ha, Ha: There was a tornado in Waukegan, IL, a northern suburb of Chicago, yesterday evening... So, you never know...As far as balloons with untied knots: I thought it was a bit more elegant than 'fartlike sounds exploding everywhere.' Ya think?! ~ gw
