NASA

If NASA spent
Their budget of half a trillion a year
on food, no child mam or woman would stave

Grand old Aunt

Aunt unilateral, naughtily tempting,
Unintentionally naughty toyboys attracting,
Nicely tantalizes ardent uniting,
Teleporting aloft, usurping NASA!

My name is etched
On Insight Lander
On Martian soil
It waits for me
To be where gravity is low
So be careful where you go
Mars’ atmosphere has little air
So beware
My name’s still etched
On Insight Lander
Along with miliions
Who like me dream
If we can get to you
Insight Lander
Your solar panels
We’ll surely clean

A Lonely Voyage

Five years was their prediction of my lifespan.
Approaching forty-five,
I have a lot to show and less to say.

Photography was never my thing
But I have the most impactful photo of the Earth.
a blurry dot in a sunbeam
Six billion kilometres away.

Crawling through space
at 61,500 kilometres in an hour,
I'll soon lose my makers
to the darkness of space;
and meet my maker(s)
in the darkness of space.

But my voyage will not end
as I have a new friend to meet.
In forty thousand years,
I'll see a friend I only know as
AC+79 3888.

through the fringes of our solar system,
In the nihility of space,
I stand as a testament
of Humans, their ingenuity
and mainly of their underestimation

23.3 billion kilometres
That's how far home is.
But I am home;
Just not the one where I was made.

They thought I'll be a small but significant "Voyager"
I think they were wrong.

To the moon and back
  was once a far-away goal
‘Course we already did that
  fifty-plus years ago

How about Mars, Venus
  Jupiter or Saturn
Why repeat what we’ve done
If there’s no glory to earn

Premium MemberMars Flight Vindicated

I stand by my assertion Mars has next-to-zero AIR
That justifies my skeptical view AIRcraft can't fly there
But in my poem composing, I did leave myself an 'out'
I can't have people thinking I'm a foolish clueless lout!

We knew already JPL and NASA pull such tricks
as to convince Terrestrials they're Total Clever Dicks
Inventive and resourceful and most ingenious
They made an 'Ingenuity' whose flights were seen by us!

My admiration for their work is second to no one.
I learn from them, my mind expands, with elements of fun...
Our Solar System's large enough to hold much mystery
So can those T.C.D.s progress in solving them? Let's see!

Ingenuity 4-19-21

To Babylonians, Ptolemy (and me),
The night sky was a glittering sea.
They called them all stars
But (including Mars)
These “observers” were startled to see…

That charting their heavenly courses
And imagining bears, crabs and horses
They moved thru the seasons
But for confounding reasons
Some obeyed differing forces.

They called them “Wandering Stars”.
(We know planets are now what they are.)
But since we conquered the moon,
Who’d have thought that so soon,
From THEIR faces we'd look back at ours.

So transmission lag notwithstanding,
The space craft survived thru its landing,
But a plan to research
From an aerial perch
Was at one time beyond understanding.

Over six years a drone flight was planned.
Could it take off and land on command?
NASA asked it to fly
And did it comply?
TODAY HISTORY WITNESSED FIRSTHAND!

Premium MemberNasa, Congratulations

Your 'Perseverance' far away
We hear has landed just this day.
Thirty million miles and more,
Now in that crater it explore,
And take samples to analyse.
Could we be in for big surprise?
Was that 'Red Planet' once alive?
And why did life there not survive?
Maybe environmental stress,
That left all life-forms in a mess.
Perhaps, in this, there is a clue
As to what climate change can do.
I now reflect on our planet.
And see how we are wrecking it.

Hurry Up, Nasa

A path of stars rambles across the sky,
in a broad, black ocean that breaks the eye,
little white dwarfs, giants both red and blue,
old stars slowly dying, and nebulae new,
planets and space stations, galaxies whole,
all just points of light in a void so cold.
Great stellar wonders that stagger the brain,
from this tiny planet, all look the same…

Hurry up, NASA! Screw it, I’m calling SpaceX.

Nasa and Ozone

NASA
Sure put on busy on it’s peak
It’s true nothing to speak

Either busy on home work
Or working from home’s sake

At a time
The Globe is turned up side down like a roti

COVID 19 stands in tact still
To remain all a total standstill

Globe is defunct like in no current day
Traffic movements no at all today

Up and down ways
North and South may

Earth is escaped for sometimes of pollution
Carbon that cars burn in no trace even for want of medicine

It’s time to look at the Ozone’s leak
To see it’s all right now with all sort lacks

Whether it’s still remains weak?
Whether to extend what’s happening on Earth now for a further week?
