Premium Member Measuring Vice

A serving size they say is wise
Never issued a measuring cup
Nobody led with avoid demise
Here take a sweet nothing, yup!

How do you quantify gluttony?
Misrecognition from the start
Is it hunger or just bad company?
The hollow sale of a poisoned dart

Premium Member measuring big foots prints

I was not expecting to see big foot’s prints in the snow
When I came upon them to my horse I yelled “whoa!”
Took out my turquoise tape and measured one of them too.
Sixteen inches long, and the width was longer than my boo.

A Literal Dick Measuring Contest

I laid down my long schlong
On a table full of kong dongs
The judges had short tongs
To flip the dongs flop
the men and women on song
You wouldn't guess who won?
God, Tom, John, Cock?
No, you are so wrong
It was not my long schlong
Or Johns God throbbing Cock
It was Moscow and Washington
Two Absolute blue whale dongs
Throbbing all the way to the third war

Premium Member Measuring With Metrics

Little is less than a lot
And most is not a few
I need a handle on this
So I know what to do
When measuring more
Into my favorite recipe
For a palmful is okay
Measuring for me …
Then come the metrics
Confusing me more
I cannot read labels
In the grocery store
I know about ounces
Milligrams are strange
And what is a liter
I cannot exchange
Guess I’ll stop cooking
Lest I overdo the salt
Eating at a restaurant
Then, it’s their fault.

Measuring the Worst Rape

I have the criminalizing tape
For measuring the worst rape
And appropriately dealing with the Debased Ape:
The length of time victim’s mouth had remained agape
And the rapist’s victorious shouts of YEE-EP!
The ‘I-can-choke-you-to death!’on her nape
And victim’s tightening teeth of sour grape;
Also, her dozen-times-tried-dozen-times failed escape
And the iron pants she would now over the poor thing drape.

Measuring Our Intentions

I GAVE UP BEING A STRANGER
WHEN I BECAME YOUR FRIEND
I GAVE UP ON BEING YOUR FRIEND
WHEN I BECAME YOUR LOVER
I NEVER STOPPED LOVING YOU:
EVEN WHEN YOU BECAME MY FIANCEE.
I'LL NEVER STOP LOVING YOU NOW
THAT YOU HAVE AGREED TO BE MY WIFE.

LOVE INSPIRES US TO LOOK TO THOSE TOMORROWS
WERE WE HAVE NEED TO BELONG
TO BE TOGETHER IN THE LIGHT OF OUR
OWN REALNESS, OUR RIGHTNESS
OUR OWN TOGETHERNESS
THAT DRAWS US TO BEING AS ONE
LOVE THE ONLY REASON TO MARRY
LOVE THE ONLY REASON TO BE TOGETHER

Premium Member Measuring the Depth of Misery

The young mind weaved the tapestry of dream
as the expectant mother floating on cloud nine.
The flower of future she perceived with pleasure
blooming, its petals touching her within softly
sparking so much of adored excitement dormant
that melted in the nightmare of relentless tears
for the new premature life was born still.

Her mind took time to rise from debris of misery
to see dented desire of motherhood to return.
She counted the agonizing months, insecure days
in the fear of losing another pining part of hers
till she heard the first cry of the child in her arms.
The joy of possession flowed like ephemeral stream,
dried soon at the dawn of the scorching reality
for the child was born with an impaired brain.

Covered in the dust of despair beneath ruined dreams
she waited for future to measure the depth of misery.

Monty's Measuring Tape

From the moment they gave him the measuring tape
That's the second Monty started to measure away
Measuring this and measuring that
From the round side of rings to the square side of flat

He measured the span on the wings of a fly
The knees of the bees as they buzzed him by
He measured the toot from the sound of a flute
And the beat of a drum, Monty measured that too

He measured the space between space and time
So there were no mistakes he measured it in the light
Pulled the tail of a lion to measure its roar
The teeth on a shark but only up to row four

Monty measured the clowns from the circus in town
With a wink and a nod, the upside of down
He measured the dinner his mom sat on his plate
Then for dessert, he measured the cake

The last thing Monty did before he went to bed
Was to measure the pillow where he laid his head
And in no time at all, Monty was fast asleep
Where in between snores he measured his dreams
fun

Measuring Up

They had all taken leave
said their farewells.

The transplant team were harvesting
Frank's heart, kidneys, eyes
purposeful, tense
I waited with Kevin
the youngest
who'd disappointed
never measured up
to the expectations of his father.

This was his moment of resolve
to say his own farewell
to his father's cadaver
in spite of the nurse's caution
that Frank would be drained
white.

He accepted advice that I should be with him
saying nothing
he stood and thought
calm.

Outside he wept
found peace and strength
measured up.

Measuring Monuments

So much education
No wiser for the cost
Given over to lofty ideas
The reason for what was lost

All the tools in the box
To chisel an honorable name
What appeal is in the dirt
When you could've opted for fame

Behind a silver counter
When you could be sitting at a desk
You could have been GREAT
But you wanted to be less

~than all the rest~

Humility is overrated
A legacy is a better prize
Walking to long with love
Has damaged your eyes

There is no power
In the position you serve
But life has given
Exactly what you deserve

A monument of memories
Adds up to a trite figurine
No one can value the image
If they don't know what you mean

~get a life~

Note: A retired teacher asked me today, "What on EARTH are you doing here?" I answered, "I want to be here." It shouldn't have rippled my waters, but that type of thinking, makes me sad. A job can never define a person who is moving in LOVE. It's only an avenue to practice the skills one has learned.

Measuring the Ocean

bluish flowers kissing
the black stones rolling
green tendrils winding
she turns into a rock
of love
virgins are delivering
in the dark corners
they are measuring
the ocean with
the chalice of
blood

My Measuring Cup

My Measuring Cup

As usual I have been accused of
mis-placing the measuring cup
again. Aha. She found it in the
dishwasher exactly where she
left it. So here is My Horn Haiku
to describe the event with.

Guess what I found out?
Another measuring cup
Is missing again.

Is so intensive
Women will find offensive
Men on defensive.

No one should abused
And Golden Rule always will use
No perfect excuse.

What I now assume
There will be one in each room
Including a broom.

Not only does she have a food fetish.
but a cleaning one as well. Always
wondered why I am always being
taken to the cleaners.

Measuring the Lunatic Fringe

Measuring the Lunatic Fringe

By Elton Camp

On the Internet their wacky beliefs are found
Although they have very long been around

The lunatic fringe has a range of belief
Confused and frustrated, they suffer grief

They grow angrier with each passing day
And insist all the more on things they say

Crazy, naïve, gullible or just uninformed
Against all reason and sense they’ve stormed

Birthers, conspiracies, 911, or assassination
Or Illuminati or freemasons control the nation

For every event and each incident they can
Easily discern operation of some Master Plan

Each wild claim they assert they can prove
And to believe their words, it does behoove

Some of them are simply deliberate deceivers
The nonsense is very real to some believers

Yet, governmental lies the public’s trust lost
A growing lunatic fringe is the terrible cost

Its indignation will likely continue to grow
The end result nobody can possibly know
