though long loftier are visited much
like space empty needed seeing some stars
your wisdom scales twice thrice at least as such
brings peace ends bloody loud proud wicked wars
less more deeply thought seals the sentence fought
upfront counting costs gains what matters most
asides any passions which wrath has wrought
humbly speaking what all others would boast
exceptions abound all you only one
heart once longing can no longer endure
when love finds disappears passion's deep fun
or holding true forever fixed and sure
falls victim arbitrary disease death
builds wall thick long tall none can ever climb
memory pain lingers each ev'ry breath
capacity drops words cease out of time
quiets all long-winded pseudo gravity
calms hears soothes sighs sees always brevity

Some say stars are
sky glitter --
every girl likes a little
extra sparkle,
and every boy needs
direction of loftier eyes
every soul seeking greater
constellation
nearer horizons
I keep my sighs....

I know nothing of
where the wild geese go
other than been told
by those with loftier eye
I know little of where
the natural streams flow
if not for those who have
thought to journey and try
I cannot say, whether heaven
nor hell, my loved ones passed
are yet silent. Content not to know
till after I go, if the knowing remain
respectfully compliant.

Marvelous to see
a condor soar
unlike the ghoul
when landed and picking --
master of thermals!
dark lord of demise --
which makes me more
profoundly consider
his tearing beak, and
vacant, soulless eyes
imagining now, a higher
purpose, loftier reason
for his seeming casual
glides -- dripping red, making
bleeding sunsets~ exposing
man's many elevated truths
(righteousness we use to
impale one another)
as splatters of bloody lies --

It takes off-rhyme
to heighten rhyme --
like background in a
painting, should not
obliterate the fore...
leaving little to view,
less to excite and visually
explore -- (my wife, a fashion
plate...and I, the mutt of a date~
somehow, it works....)
I guess, if not for man's fall,
there would be no theme of God
to venerate -- in a dark sense~
evil is the light of good reflection
a night that makes bright the stars
a canvas of the greater heavens yet
to lasso and draw-in or pull one's self
up for loftier expansion --
earth experience, perhaps a mere dust-mite
on the surface of creation --
With poetry, Free Verse is far from free:
a rush pounding as the poet's heart~ bursting a
dam of pent-up, drumming passion -- overflowing
banks insane to absorb, to further-in deepen pools of
whatever for drink. Everything is attached...a-thirst, with seen
and unseen flowing tethers --

the well intended but deluded soul
took on itself to spread God’s word
the fixation soon became its mission
to rescue those deemed wayward
the vulnerable who suffer on earth
tottering on the very edge of despair
clutch at wisps of straw so proffered
but of absolute truth remain unaware
there is no solace in words and symbols
scriptures merely point out direction
we each need to walk on the path alone
paving way for our soul’s resurrection
the entity who seeks must drop away
God cannot be caged in conditioned belief
the light eternal is loftier than mind thinks
in vibrancy of staid stillness turn a new leaf

more effective and

so germs are deadly affected,

Revenge is beneath you
By Michelle Morris
27/07/2020
Revenge is not a worthy pursuit -
It is a waste of time and energy,
And doesn't suit you...
We are light bearing souls -
Crafted from the stars and have
Loftier aspirations than
Leaving hurt or scars...
Revenge is beneath you -
It harms all it encounters;
When you turn to revenge,
Your whole psyche flounders...
No matter the victory
Over any evil foe,
Revenge harms you always -
It is a stain on your soul...

Believing
Miracle Man
5/26/2023
Start with doable goals and in faith believe,
for greatest knowledge we can ever achieve.
If rooted in choices from everyday living,
taking risks isn’t bad; most are forgiving.
One only excels when right conditions prevail,
so know your target and pay attention to detail.
If something isn’t working be bold and retry,
we’re relegated to failure when we cease to try.
The loftier the goal, the greater the price tag,
Losing your focus is like raising a white flag.
We’re assured of failing when effort is lacking,
So focus is vital if you think you’re slacking.
Focusing on goals helps make them forthcoming,
Believing is mile one on the road to becoming.

Look Up, There's Hope!
Let's set aside the gory stuff,
Of that, we've had our fill enough.
Let's focus on what makes us smile,
And ponder on good for just a while.
Nature, in its bounty, gives us strength,
And mends the fabric that we have rent.
The little plants strive with hope,
Valiantly blooming as they toil and grope.
The fauna still thrive despite our greed,
As we deplete them for our unwarranted need.
The smile of an infant lights up our days,
As we hack our paths through wicked ways.
Rejoice and look up, there's still time,
For loftier things, for the sublime!

That Salad Went Right Through Me
I've always wanted to write a poem called
“That Salad Went Right Through Me”.
And I would wager upon its best destiny:
To begin with, there is the Universal Theme--
For who has not gurgled around a conference table
at half past the last radish scrap?
Who, once stalled, has not
persistently punched the flusher
to muffle the borborygmus din?
But on a loftier note, I prefer
to think of my paean emblazoned
in the annals of first line indexes,
where, as one wanders lonely as a cloud
over dactyls and tropes,
“That salad went right through me”
trots right off the page
demanding a fervid flip to its leaf.
And future discourse plied at workshops,
and other such rarefied privies of poesy
might thusly include:
"Did you write a poem for the class today?"
Yes...“That Salad Went Right Through Me”
"Well then, you should consider the cheesecake."

I took a walk with God today,
His pace far more casual than
mine. His voice a bit softer,
calmer. His visions, far more
loftier, but not views to impress
me...more like, to bless me. Not
stepping to me out-stride – more like,
to lovingly guide. His tone to instill in me
self confidence, and not His awesome
dominance. I took a walk with
God today...met Christ along
the way – and together we made a turn
toward Home....

Forgiveness is indeed divine.
People get hurt and they may whine.
With their deeds, I may be displeased.
The suffering is to be eased.
It's a loftier state of mind.
One attains it by being kind.
Nurture the trait of acceptance.
Let's not give room for repentance.
