The sun caressing our skin
summer days come to an abrupt end

His pawprints linger

As a young kid back in the hood,
It was just me and a pet friend~
He was the joy of my childhood~
His remembrance would never end.

I called him Pup as a puppy,
Because the poops he made me pack,
Whenever he ate hushpuppy~
Which I enjoyed as a noon snack.

His name later changed to Hot Dog,
When that became his

Morning dew in my newly bloomed red clover cloak
A warm breeze kissing my cheek

tasting the first sweets of spring

Linger on the Binder

My wish is to make it into an anthology
I've framed thought with gold leaf and slag
buffed them into positive and negative action.
At times I've both bullied and buttressed the weak
trimmed away and added insult to my fellow man

Where My Brush Strokes Linger

I woke trembling on the threshold of dawn 
as dappled sunlight through my window shone 
Upon my primed canvas there had been drawn 
a masculine image with finely chiseled cheekbones

What virile fantasy had I born while in flight 
for my hand to have created such a dashing face 
In stippled darkness of my dream-filled night,

Why have I thrown myself backwards while I was trying to feel the cold through the glass he built up.

I find myself floating in an ocean of consciousness,
A man, a whisper against the turbulent waves of culture,

With memories neither of us can let go 
And smiles we know

As we walk past each other 
In empty corridors

I ripped the skin off my fingers, I didn’t want a fingerprint that had touched you to linger. 

You could never deserve the feeling that my fingers could grace your skin, spat out your kisses as if I didn’t love the taste of toxicity that dribbled down my chin.

      all our days
