She ran through the streets lickety-split
like a fine race horse chomping her bit
a race for the throne
winner gets the cone
cold ice cream crown a tasty tidbit
Amanda write limericks so darn quick
She just dashes them off lickety-split
Somehow she gets them to rhyme
Finishing each one in time

Lickety Split was a novice lander elf.
He was pretty much terribly hard on himself.
I cannot conjure up ghosts like daddy, he said.
I cannot bring back spirits, I do not talk to the dead.
But you are wonderful in your own way, my child.
His parents told him with tones that were mild.
He wanted to be the best at something though.
He sat in a meadow, watching pink clover grow.
The clover began to commune with Lickety Split.
They told him when campfires were unduly lit.
They came and roused him in middle of night.
They warned him of dangers far out of sight.
Lickety Split became known as the one who knows.
How to communicate with a green thing that grows.
You are so lucky, Lickety Split. Why don’t you come over?
But he was busy, overseeing his best friends, the clover.
“I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream”
Ice Cream lyrics by Howard Johnson 1927
LICKETY-SPLIT
pied piper’s sprint
in a child’s cul-de-sac
dishy melody
little legs come running forth
taking their licks in no time

Lickety Split and Thunder Lou
Be you Green or be you Blue
Come and play and bring a shoe
If you insist you may bring two
Lickety Split and Pink Horse Poo
Be you Red or White or Blue
Your yellow roses simply grew
Garden faeries laughed at their new.
Lickety Split and Cake Horn Too
Be you silver without a clue
Your colorful kindness comes through
I so want to play with you!
Lickety Split (Not for contest)
Like a star-spangled banner bathed in the sand
illuminated in the tropical isles of scents on
Caribbean land while you're caressing me
knowing you're close by to kiss and kiss
enticing, engulfing me with all your charm
there will be a sultry tune and look of
yearning and wanting you more and more
Scintally, clad I'm clothed in satin so sheer
prancing, dancing for your velvety touch
lusciously, I want you more and more each day
it feels so much time has not drifted on by
To this tropical Isle of splendor in the sands.

Like diamonds bathed in sun,
Islands in the
Caribbean call my name.
Kiss me with your sultry
Energy and charm.
There’s a beach bum waiting for me, with
Yellow hair bleached by the sun.
Such longing I feel, as he
Pulls me to paradise, where.
Love blooms at last.
If only in a wink-of-the-eye dream,
Tropical splendor is mine.

Lickety split
In and out the hummingbird flits;
Caught a glimpse of it sipping nectar of the Columbine.
Kiss, a sip shades of red, orange, and bright pink as it flies up and down the vine,
Eager to get to the next bloom, sound of hummmmm of it beating wings.
These tiny sweet sucking nectar hovers in mid-air at rapid speed making rings.
Yummy, yum sweet nectar from the vine, silver wings, along in the spring.
Sipping little bird, tiniest I ever saw, away from meadows green.
Pulling at my heartstrings, your rapid flapping wings plainly to be seen,
Lighting speed, magical and free like a tiny fairy nectarous scent of femininity;
In and out sipping nectar of spring serenity,
Through wooden trellis in ecstasy.

Laying in my bed all cozy and warm, and
inside the blankets my kitty cat snores, sweetly
captivating birds sing outside my window, and
kitty cat pokes her head out and says, M E O W !
Earsplitting and grating my alarm clock is blaring, and my
telltale sleepiness is leaving my head,
yet, I linger in my bed-
snoozing . . . .
peacefully, I snuggle deeper into my blankets, until
lickety-split, I shoot out of bed, screaming to no one
I am LATE! So hell bent and at full
tilt I am ready and leave- kitty y a w n s on the bed.

Looking for money the easiest way -
Impossibly shameless, he searched for his prey.
Cleverly creeping, he’d spy a poor dolt,
Kill them with kindness and gain sympathy.
Embezzlement was his great specialty -
Trickery too, and the talent to bolt!
Yes, when he fled, he gave them a jolt.
Slimy was he, being slickety-slick,
Prospering from every poor soul he duped.
Lickety split, he was quicker than quick.
In a lurch he would leave them. How low he stooped!
Then off he’d be running, fresh patsies to pick.

L ost deep, the woods of tender age,
I feigned to quell my prurient rage ...

In all the starlit lakes and ponds
Totter the tube roses at the capitalist glare
