Lickety Split In the Corridor

Lilacs In the parks Cruelly crushed Killing the pink buds Eliminating the poetry Torturing hands rejoicing Yellow yelling in the panick Some poets say Power flowering in Lickety split in the corridor In all the starlit lakes and ponds Totter the tube roses at the capitalist glare _______________________________________________ April 12, 2018 Lickety Split - Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Debbie Guzzi

Intellectually seeded poetic imagery delivering a profound message - this is one for text books for its message is timeless, and its symbolism is outstanding poetry. It deserves to be studied. Impressive. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Alliteration, metaphor, personification, transferred epithet,... All are in your poem. Do agree with you. But modern poems are brain work too. This is my personal view. Anyhow, Review Pari Style Poem to encourage me.

Yes, indeed, the flowers seem to get crushed: Hungary, 1956. Czechoslovakia, 1968, Ukraine, 2009, Egypt, 2011, ad nauseum, ad infinitum. ...And yet, roses are meant to die, are they not?...'Tis the spirit behind the fragrance which can never be crushed...Much food for thought in your excellent write, Probir. Bravo! ~gw
