Premium MemberIt Ain't Easy Being Humble

If there's one thing to remember as you travel life's highway
We're all made of the same stuff
Bones, skin, hair, and smashing good looks
Oops sorry, not everyone is blessed with good looks like this dude
Mummy and Daddy's genes combined
For an extraordinarily handsome specimen of male virility
Had to fight the girlies off with a big stick
I know, I know, shouldn't be complaining... right!!!
Some of us just have to endure these minor inconveniences
Hollywood movie stars have much the same “problems”
Have to admit, at first it was very flattering
But that soon wore off and it's now quite a nuisance
Having to sign autographs every time I step outside the door
Guess it's the price us over the top handsome folks have to pay
For the adulation of the adoring throngs
You may ask, “IS THIS GUY SMOKIN' UP?”
Sure sounds kinda whacked out to me, I must say!
Aww! But he's got such a sweet heart
Hang on, hang on, I'll soon be back to my humble self again
I'm sorry... it ain't easy being humble you know!
My tongue's stuck in my cheek!

The Walk Yesterday

Geese are roaming through my neighborhood
Littering every single inch of sidewalk with feathers and poop
Contrast to the perfectly manicured lawns
Of perfectly manicured suburban families
Too perfect
I feel like I found true happiness on my walk
Whistling while my strides come paced and measured

Humans are like bugs the more I look at them under my microscope of criticism
Killing and eating our own
Wrapping our offspring in the silk of our wombs
Protecting them from dangers to come
But humans like every other living creature
Succumb to the elements and the righteous hand of God

Children are like geese
They squawk and whine
Complaining about every thing that inconveniences them
The noises continue until they appreciate the value of silence
The silence before a storm
Or the way everything stops before a flood

God granted silence for me on my walk
Quieting the voices of the woman talking on a phone
Or the screams of children on the playground
God granted silence for me
And the trees who were spared from swaying at the whim of a breeze
And silence for the birds getting ready to devour their dinner of worms
In their sharp, hooked beaks

Premium MemberHigh Fidelity

Do you know my friend named Faith?
With trust in God, she treks through inconveniences,
stepping sprightly over them
with supreme optimism.

Smiling with ease, she saunters
along her life’s path, sure-stepping
for always she knows the way to go.
In the darkest of her days,
she still marches on;
a soldier of hope is she.
Some nights, she strolls,
face toward the heavens,
searching for the Star of David
so keen are her convictions.

To her friends and family,
she is an angel
ambling happily alongside them
and slowing down to lift them up
should they stumble and fall.

She loves her man
with the heart of a loyal lioness,
and he cannot help but reciprocate
her many kindnesses.
Do you know this woman?
Her faithfulness is to the sky,
for she’s got
high fidelity.

Premium MemberWhen the lights go out

In the calm of evening's hush, a storm descends,
Electric charge in the air, a dance of shadows blend.

As I place my dinner in the microwave's gentle hum,
A flicker, a spark, and darkness comes.
The lights go out, a sudden shroud of night, Inconvenience strikes, a fleeting blight.

In this temporary loss of light,
A moment to pause, to reflect, to sit tight.
Amidst the silence, a chaos storm unfurls,
Nature's fury unleashed, the power of the world.

As I wait, in stillness and in darkness,
I find a different kind of calm.
For in this darkness, a quietude is found,
A reminder of the fragility that surrounds.

The simple act of microwaving my meal,
Now a dance with nature's hidden appeal.
So as the storm rages, and the lights remain out,
I find solace under candle light, a peaceful hum so I write.

A poetry of inconveniences, a lesson to heed,
In moments of disruption, there's still beauty to feed.

The Matrix Reality

We live within a Matrix
Much like the movie suggests
Being held captive by unseen forces
A food source to keep dark ones full and fed
All while we are dormant and fast asleep
?
Don't want us awakening
Because then we will fight back
We will keep them from using our life force
To feed and fuel their dirty little deeds
They cause all of our life's fear and worry
?
All of life's irritations
And life's inconveniences
Is the matrix's way of making a feast
The more we worry and fear in our lives
Makes a fine gourmet meal for the dark ones
?
When your powers realized
It puts a kink in their plan
Then in cutting all cords to the matrix
It allows body and soul to be free
Showing you how you should be living life
?
Are you ready to break free?
The matrix reality

Humans

Humans,
No matter different ethnicities
and colours
we still humans
Who are so differ to demons
 and Angels.
The scripture says that a person who lies
And the other who listen to lies
All together will be punished by God.
Some people can enjoy hearing lies
Without knowing their inconveniences.
Others don't have time to speak lies
Or listen to lies as they fear the Lord.
Who wants to rot in the pool
of fire due to hearing lies?
Better being confronted by truth
Than being comforted by lies.
Learn to be always good with
some people who like
To speak the truth
and hearing it daily
To please our God.
Hating someone because
of his good choice ...
no! no!no!
Just change
for Christ's sake.

Midnight

Thoughts flew in quickly in sequence
Weighs more as metric tonnes of rod
The mind is stressed and overburdened
Literally more effective than the heart
We set our various senses out loud
In search of answers
To realistic and imaginary questions
To find solutions and suggestions
To curb looming inconveniences
Our wants and needs
Tend to put us in tiny boxes
Where chances of survival are slim
We are unique in various segments
The reason we approach issues
With diverse technicalities and skill sets
Situations define us
It is either we stand the test of time
Or fall flat to our fears and troubles
Strive to make informed choices and decisions
And in the end
All crimsonlike thoughts and perceptions
Will exist in reality as white as snow

Camille

I dress like her and listen to music I think she might like just so i don’t feel completely alone.

She wasn’t even that kind. Or thoughtful. She was just hurt. And I like to think she would understand me. So I keep her in my pocket, like some kind of sacred amulet. Or maybe one of those little woven worry dolls that are supposed to ease your troubles. I hold her close to my face and I whisper my heartbreaks and sorrows and trivial inconveniences to her.

Sitting in a parked car in the Walgreens parking lot I cry silently and clutch at her nothingness and watch the as old homeless woman pushes her cart across the dark pavement.

And then I start the car, and drive home without turning on my headlights. I have work tomorrow. I do need my beauty sleep, you know.

Premium MemberMy First Cup of Morning Bliss

My first cup of coffee in the morn is pure bliss!
Is there anything finer than this addiction we endure
I'm drinking one now as I type this masterpiece
Trying not to spill it on my keyboard or yours

Though we are separated by many many miles
Coffee unites us in a common bond that moves us all
It revives our senses we tremble and shake
Parts of our bodies twist and shake hitting a wall

Coffee that amazing brew that so tickles the palette
When men smell this yummy brew they can maim and kill
But these are only minor inconveniences each year
Causing loss of blood and minor death and chills

Premium MemberAnd

And

Goat heads, cockleburs, and cow pies.
These are the things
we live with, in the country.
Some you step on,
some travel in your clothes,
and some stink.

Foxtails.
That sounds so beautiful.
They are terrible.
They cling and bring pain
to the feet of dogs.

Don't get me started...
on mosquitoes and blood-sucking vermin...
that find us all in the day,
and in the night.
Yet we still go outside.
We still want to touch,
trees, and flowers...
and lay in the grass.

Ticks stay away,
fleas go somewhere else.
This is the best place,
to be calm and set the pace...
backward, or at least slowdown.

Chores make the time pass without notice.
Tired muscles and an achy back
replace the need to be concerned...
about the small things.
Yet inside,
peace reigns.
Even at the cost of life's
tiny inconveniences,
there is a payment of joy,
that only He can dole out.

Premium MemberThe Rain

The rain
If comes too often
Makes people sad
Besides flood and flu
Inconveniences and economics hazards
I pity the rain because it's like
The sky is crying
A lot of sorrow is ahead
The rain is busy washing away Deforested soils, human sins and Airborne virus
Don't cry baby
You make me feel so sorry and helpless

Death In the Sanctuary

Immortality looking invincible,
Athena's arpon arsing shadows,

Amazonite unfading Athenaeum species,
A lasting blade for an immortal legacies,

Fallacies befall the inconsistencies,
Fragrances crash the inconveniences...

Extinction of lives is overturned by heavenly bliss,
Angels are guardian spirits,

Humanity is saved,
Hell is dead.

The Cry of Nigerians

No! Nigeria! Why!

We have always been happy despite the hitches.
We have wept together despite our half-baked unity.
We have laughed together despite our different trinities.

No! Nigeria! Why!

But came OCTOBER the overwhelming independence.
We are free! We are free from the shackles I hear!
We are still slaves to our own mother you will attest.

No! Nigeria! Why!

Independence where are you?
We tried to err our inconveniences using our discretion, but we got an invite to the funeral of our freedom of speech.

No! Nigeria! Why!

We kept on the protest in one voice,
And we were shattered with a Bang! Bang! to many heads.
Blood of the innocent flows like the river Niger.
Tears of the concerned flows like the river Benue.
Bodies torn like discarded rags.
Lives wasted so they tell no stories.
Every where has become a dark cloud.
Things have fallen apart.

No! Nigeria! Why!

Premium MemberA Year Dwindling Down

Assured by the Almighty’s grace abounding…

Yearning for contentment is settled today and yon
Exuding hope, expressing bright future’s expectation
Affirming moving-on pursuits toward aspiration-ascent
Reminding good days ahead with revival replenishment.

Despite threatening dearth causing despair
Whispering angst, obscuring wishes with worries
Indefatigable spirit overcomes inconveniences
Never surrendering; advancing nonetheless
Depending on God, the sovereign Defender
Learning life lessons while liberated by His love
Illumined to move on with divine inspiration
Nourished with grace and compassion’s nurture
Growing stronger, geared by faith, glowing.

Drawing nigh* to the Lord Who to me reaches down
Offering blessings’ opportunities for service opulence
Welcoming my heart for revival against weariness
Now, I bid adieu to months dwindling down, toward year’s newness.

*James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you…

It's a Time Like This

It's a time like this when I take a trip,
a mental one in which I am a child,
riding on a carousel without a care,
feeling the circular air blow in my hair.

The animals on the carousel beg me to ride,
I choose the one which is most colorful,
a horse with a red saddle and a blue body,
gives me a ride which is not shoddy.

Time on the carousel gives me relief
from the inconveniences of life I have lived,
being an adult has its ups and downs,
trying to forget the stife which drowns.
