Mama always said...Son, mind that bump

The road is wide and the load we dump

So, Mama would dare me

But, fear would impair me

I'm Petrified Forest...Forest Gump!

In Vietnam, Lieutenant Dan thunk...

Me and Bubba should just share a bunk

But, the bunk was loaded

And Bubba exploded

I'm Chunks in the Forest...Forest Gunk!

Premium MemberPerennial winner

I am a perennial winner
Cause I refuse to be a loser

I am programmed for victory
And I vehemently refuse to walk by sight

Nor by what my circumstances look like
For what is seen is temporary

I refuse to allow my situation
To dictate the direction of my prayer or confession

For I can not rise above my confession
Confession determines the life I enjoy

Whatever I give my attention minutely
Is what I have become in reality

Let your confession therefore
Be in line with God’s promises

When hard times strike
Do not take the route of complaints

Nor get frightened by what you see around you
Cause the unseen hands of God

Who does not sleep or slumber
Work behind the scenes

To change you through your circumstances
For hard times are meant to improve you

And adequately prepare you for promotion
And not to impair you

So welcome challenges with all your heart
And confess success through your challenges

Premium MemberMuhammad Ali And The Pelicans

The man who has no imagination
has no wings…
- Muhammad Ali

 …………………..

They waddle clumsily
on webbed feet not fit
for treading sand
and their folded wings
just add weight to impair
their already awkward gait.
Pelicans are made
for air and water, being
landbound leaves them
deprived of grace.
Sometimes I flounder
like a grounded pelican
on the mud flats of myself.
Dragging my body along
I make for a sorry sight
until I remember I have
the power to imagine wings
and then, with perfect grace,
I take flight.

Premium MemberShallow Hours

In Shallow Hours, graves are dug
By words morose,

Their hollow powers seem mundane,
But are much worse.

Being Lonely in a crowded room,
With empty words

Muttered by survivors;

Whose frosty breath in time,
With second hand,

Will still ones heart with breach of mind
From gestures grand;

So gentle souls as we,
Will speak no more about it.

This too shall pass as melancholy.
Whispered mischief of the gods;

The poisoned fruit of folly.

As seasons run their course;
Whose touch so coarse,
Flow unrefined.

A baking of our Maker's choice,
Upon which we have dined.

Too many courses chose
Again, the Blackened Rose.
Life without salience
For such as those.

Naked She,
No longer seductress,
Temptress to youth

Our lives attempt atone.

Experienced eyes, now show revealed;
A Harlot to the bone.

What drug could so impair?
What game be more unfair?

What beauty in beholder's eye,
Less rare?

False Gods flail.

Chariot wheels on ipad screens
In most minute detail.

Now kiss your new God
Soft upon His cheek

And in a moment, through Alexa,

He may speak.

Home

Love can move mountains,
And impair one's judgements
Make you soar high like a bird
Or so in tales, I've seen and heard.

Been watching cheesy romcoms
Couples dancing in balls and proms
Read lots about love at first sight
Thinking this is bogus at its height.

Ridiculing lovers on one hand
While secretly wanting one so grand
Hoping to someday find my mate
Not knowing I'd be in this state.

Cut to a million odd years later,
A few ounces of wisdom greater
Happened to be, by a chance so grim,
Of this menacing love, another victim.

In a place, so habitual and familiar
Your absence made me feel peculiar
So lost and empty, surprising me
Yearning to just up and flee.

But now that you are here with me
I'm appalled at how this came to be
For what was once a land unknown
Is slowly starting to feel like home.

Are We All Going Mad

Losing direction is quicker than taking
a deep breath when fear frightens us,
and that's our wake-up call to stark reality;
why do we give more attention to banality
than to God who gives and takes lives?
Why do we follow characters so deceiving?

Are we all going mad giving up sanity?
Let somebody you slap you hard
and quickly snap back to normality;
lay off at once any harmful substance,
keep away from the somber graveyard:
choose life and value your existence!

Drugs are a quick-fix for many indeed,
they impair judgement, don't snort Fentanyl;
it eventually freezes up the conscious mind;
seek God instead and live longer, pal!

The Pandemic is finally over: we are living
without restrictions and feeling freer than birds;
why are we all going mad for absurd reasons?
Isn't our purpose to keep going and thriving?

Some people put the blame on stress, not cocaine
when they hit a brick wall and go totally insane...
then, green becomes blue and red black:
will they die or survive their ship-wreck?

Premium MemberI Am The Fog

I am the quiet, rolling fog,
With misty drops, I wish to clog,
The air in hopes with you I might,
Impair your mind and sense of sight.

I come at night so not to warn,
So that you’ll find me in the morn,
When creeping in as if to drown,
And block the sun from shining down.

I’m dangerous, just like a storm,
But lurk about a different form,
Without a sound when passing by,
And not with thunder in the sky.

A part of me is hoping you,
Can overcome when passing through,
To find that I’m a simple test,
And obstacle upon your quest.

But those who choose to cast aside,
Of me, you will be lost inside.
Your steps shall slow into a slog,
Through me the quiet, rolling fog.

Pray Without Ceasing
Miracle Man
December 12, 2023

The world has become filled,
with hatred and division.
Many times we let pettiness,
impair our good vision.

Compromise is a word,
most no longer embrace.
Which leads us full scale,
in our effort to abase.

We find it hard to ask,
so instead, we demand.
Seeking an advantage,
to gain the upper hand.

As a nation we’ve become,
morally bankrupt today.
Prayer changes things,
but too many don’t pray.

Dear Diane 1

In such occasions where the heart yearns
for your heat how would I recover the
sorrow, the pillow no longer drips with tears
it leaks the yeast of sadness

It drills with grills that has chilly taste of fist
The face I’ve came to known is
disappearing slowly dispersing drifting in a
shallow whipped stream strangely it
strangles the anger of hate I have to carry
that I couldn’t fight for you enough

I couldn’t hold my pinky promise
I couldn’t keep you, let along see you again
I’d wish death upon my dreadful drearily but
this light of your skin reminds me the moon
once covered the sun and all went dark
As little hope the was the fear that each
earth dwellers had was enough to confess

their sins

Since your last text purged my day
I hope the memories that we made
embrace the emotional route it straightened
because it was real not forgery

I somehow wish to stop whipping
I hope I start shifting just to let in the breeze
Your eyelids would forever impair my ability

A Kiss

A kiss is a stamp, a seal,
of the taking in of the essence of one,
two-, to steal of that goodly feel.

A bliss, a steal, a clamp so true,
A gesture pure, from me to you.
It takes in essence, of the goodly feel,
A bond so strong, nothing can steal.

A kiss under the stars, a magical rite,
Whispers of sweet nothings, in the night.
It ignites a flame, a passion so wild,
       A connection that's untouchable, undefiled.

A kiss on the forehead, a symbol of care,
A moment so tender, that none can impair.
It soothes the soul, and wipes away fears,
A touch so gentle, that brings healing tears.

A kiss on the lips, a symbol of love,
A bond so strong, sent from above.
It seals a promise, an unbreakable bond,
A love that lasts, and forever beyond.

A kiss, a stamp, a seal so divine,
   It marks a moment, amore-eel
  electric frozen in time.
An act of pure giving, with nothing to lose
but a stare, can yet enliven, so there.
A simple gesture of the love of now, here,
but with so much to choose and dare, endear.

Great Snake

This reptile leaves without a trace,
it is a sign of betrayal and disgrace,
it catches its prey with grace,

Don't you take them as merely or fake,
Medusa's thirst for blood they slake,

Oh the great snake
Oh the great snake

The caustic substance they release,
Known to lay many decease,
If you agitate your life they shall cease,

Known to be found in many lakes,
They can even fight Nathan Drake,

Oh the great snake
Oh the great snake

They are an arrow in nature's quiver,
Their bewhiching body is like a river,
This beast can impair your liver,

Killing it might seem easy as cake,
Don't try it or your life they shall take,

Oh the great snake
Oh the great snake

Premium MemberI Feel Spring's Promise

I feel spring's promise everywhere!
The sky presents a clear, blue show
which winter knows it will impair-
as long as it delivers snow.

Yet, it has time to still bestow
white puffs of snow or blizzard scare-
but needs to, without question, know-
I feel spring's promise everywhere.

As days grow longer, I'm aware
those warming sun rays spread their glow.
Though winter holds on tight with care;
the sky presents a clear, blue show.

The waking buds will start to grow;
new leaves and blossoms want to bare
their pastel colors, row by row-
which winter knows it will impair.

I wait for spring with my prayer
that winter ends its frigid flow;
they'll be no new rebirth affair
as long as it delivers snow.

Spring can come fast, or very slow.
But, in the end, it must declare-
to sound the call- winter, please go!
Then, chase it out with no fanfare.

I feel spring's promise.

Have you noticed how technology
Is more pervasive in the world of sports?
From the equipment to the playing fields,
Even their shoes ... and look at the shorts.

I can remember the days when basketball players,
Showed all legs from snug-fitting wear.
While today, high-tech fabrics surround them,
Like loose sheets that won't impair.

And now baseball players are much more athletic,
Rarely will you see a physique like Babe Ruth.
As they seek to train harder and consume the best
Nutrition, far less partying, and that's the truth.

Also now, we can see the rules of football evolving,
Seeking to be safer and more humane.
To the point where touching a quarterback is practically
Criminal, and using your head may damage a brain.

Yet athletes will always compete and seek that
Elusive leverage to be the best they can be.
Though the rules may provide fewer tools,
As they try to outsmart technology.

Premium MemberNon Compos Mentis

How creeps the dark where life was brightly lit
when he who once mighty is idly damned -
to watch destroyed an energy and wit
makes concealed and sad a life long and grand.
Where the acquisitions of yesteryear
become a puzzle piece and not a whole,
where atrophy on each new day impair
the bravest heart! The old sense! The lost soul!
I have seen the inconsolable grace
and pride which inherit the living haze -
that robs identity without a trace
kept more sedentary in mortal malaise.
When my time draws nigh I pray of the twain
that body and mind this soul still remain.

Premium MemberDream Destiny's Path

(Dare to dream, then achieve; visions evolve as talents grow.) By Poet.

Grace's ashes are bare, graves made,
last chaos has wiped out our shade,
and, bleakness is a word guide strain.
Train ripples haunt a forlorn brain.

Veiled yet weird by what may impair,
dreams of mayhem and what will bear.
Shielding truth by false and self-shame,
irate parts were thrown through in maim.

Blood-stained eyeballs burst from their loom,
hearts turn purple after their gloom.
Signs of ruin are sketched closer,
Few minutes in cosmos amber.

I dream to change the way to doom,
eons are snubbed as it, ne'er boom.
Yonks bygone, time came to a halt.
Angel of the shade guards the gault.
