Kash, among hyphens a dash

Indians have been making big splash,
And now there’s this Patel called Kash.
What, never heard of him?
He heads FBI team,
In highly-held hyphens, big dash,
One subsists or just leaves,
He in himself believes,
And tries once again all afresh.

Premium Membera cosmic sonnet

If fusty galaxies twirl like Shakespearian poetry,
is astrology a tragedy or a comedy?

Are there clusters of uppercase in outer space,
the remnants of metaphors that broke up like meteors?

My universe is full of orphaned verse,
and perverse alien names all have hyphens.

Quatrains swirl across the ecliptic plane,
and sonnets streak by like comets.

Argh! Where’s a pencil - too late - the thought’s gone.
Ever lose something essential - cause you couldn’t find a pencil?

It’s ok though, it’s not just me and not just you.
Black holes are swallowing Haiku too.

I saw a line with something like, “universe of orphaned verse,” in a poem a few days ago. The idea of celestial words rhyming with writing terms ‘mused’ me. I’ve been looking for the author to credit them (hello, computer searches). If you know the guilty party, please let me know.
.

*No, this is NOT a sonnet, it’s just the name

Barter of goods was before gold or paper before electronic
Transfers of the digit inflaters..How are dots and numbers
Balanced and checked? How many hyphens will i need for
A floor? How many dots to create a strong door? or a ship
Or a boat? Could i have one in gold? I've heard there are Some of timber?
Or is that concept too old? If I had ten cows, and some
Goats i could swap.? I would gather some fish, trade some out keep some back, fry some dry some
Trade some others, at the market on a table.' This way of
Enabling life to progress, predates any laws or even Legaleese, that creates quite a mess' the need of commoditys will allways be there.' It won't make any difference if you've blue or blond hair.' You still thrive with
Commerce, all the better if skills, are encouraged within
A community not so focused on ills.' It was there from the
Earliest knowledge of man, in fact they still trade commoditys i beleive, thats how things still stand' its before laws established, and its today, and beyond! drive
Your cattle to the market, trade your goods its still on.!

Premium Member*****Destructus

Apparently Soup finds the Latin word for ‘Human’ offensive;
about as ‘P.C. gone wrong’ as it’s possible to get. I have had to
include completely superfluous hyphens in order to get the word
accepted.

Our home in the stars so often ransacked
Homo-destructus had forced us to act
So quick to breed
Killed - not to feed
Our ancient ancestors counter-attacked

All rounded up for a new rebirth
Transported far to a fertile Earth
A gauntlet they ran -
- Neanderthal man
Homo-destructus; victor or serf?

That was a million Earth years ago
Call us inquisitive, we need to know
A long stellar trek
In order to check
What occurs when you let primitives go

Five light years travelled to view their progress
Earth is an angry and war tangled mess
Our crew now lay savaged
Our ship also ravaged
Homo-destructus sees no welcome guest

That primeval race that we once left to swarm
With clubs and flint axes their weaponry norm
Strangely ironic
They’re now atomic
And Homo-destructus remains true to form

Premium MemberCarpet Burn

We lie
           in each other’s arms
as
     I run my fingers
through my lover’s lush locks
             of hair
In plush leisure we roll
   with abandon
                 on the floor -
    in tune with each other’s
               bodies
rocking into the night -

By the way, Wordcounter says 43 words, but if I remove my 2 hyphens, it DOES say 41 then!

COOL FEVER

                            the giant ice cube —
                         a rubicon of

Kid In Ga

I'm on that stupid mode!
Ignorance shooting like haters:
No wars, no conflicts...
Running in circles: "Ain't that Ouroboros"
I know Venus scared of snakes,
Hence the circle we always have to draw!

Whoa! creepy nights as moon crescent appears,
waning..., waning..., waning...!
New babes coming and dark lovers:
Barking and howling for lock hours,
Opening windows for outcasted ghosts;
Top air winds coming in...
Greens and purples to being laughed-
at by dolls, no puppet masters...
Little strange things, girlish "leaning"
on my vintage; vanish painted doors,
Oh Willie...!

Having bad trips due to low sugar levels
Driving "fast" In the dark,
Humming..., humming..., humming...!
Staring at the windscreen:
As I reach those tunnels;
hallucinations as I'm afraid of exaggerations,
even though I love sarcasm!
And playing around with syllables-
knowing "grammar" gonna get me:
Dark pens with red inks;
Red lines drawn across words:
Sentenced, concords fighting with jargon!
Hyphens stopping the war but not recognized by the Language,
Gotta keep order: Guess no one likes broken English!

Human Society Is a Textbook

Look at society White or Black-
Capitalist, Communist or feudal;
take your pen and scribble this poem
I am telling you this 1st, January, 2018

Human society is a textbook.
It has title and chapters within
All have opening sentences,
but some without any valid points

Many humans live as spelling errors,
appear as corrections or untidy writing,
They are wrong contents and concepts
Readers always hate them dearly

Majority are punctuation marks,
living commas and exclamation signs
Apostrophes, question marks are many.
Periods, hyphens are simple but vital.

A number appear as illustrations.
Some are humors, cartoons, pictures
Unkind professors of life pinch them,
with dirty or inglorious comments

Silent letters, no points infest textbook.
These hate those highlighted as points.
Yet all belong to the same textbook,
in geographical territory of pages

Human society is a textbook, my brothers
Sisters; titles, points also have problems

Punctuated In Time

Cant lift my eyes beyond half past seven anymore
Nay! I do not wish to see...
Past hyphens and inverted commas
Lies and more catastrophe

Ambidextrous clock with appalling brevity
The second hand throws away society
Caught on the hook of an apostrophe
Hit and run humanity

With what shall I beseech thee?
Amix with soot and grime am I today
I painted me....! I mascara'd me!
Not this... warpaint for smudges
A discard of society

Sunk in dank mediocrity
Left to dream on the periphery
Sacked and sold with all their niceties
And pensioned off into obscurity

Cascading through the fingers of our hands
Groans the running Namib sands
Camel plods along ignoring facts
Dali's clock is molten wax - a mystery

Certain as Terrabyte and Megabitten memory
Omits to call- forgets to visit me

Silence
Light is speech. the mind
an enchanting thing
picking and choosing.
Our past becomes present
consequences.
Modesty may,might nay must
overcome envy.
Retreat propriety,
rescued by the disposition of angels
in pedantic literalism.
A distrust of merits, style &connoisseurs.
prisnmatic colours,hyphens &lines.
Nonchalance,in lieu
efforts of affection ,interacting with
apparations of splendour.

Fish To Fishes

FISH TO FISHES

They changed the "many fish," it is now called the "fishes"?
As in more than "one wish" for our dreams, as in "wishes."
In the apple half cut to halves, that we have to have,
Or one foot, to many feet, and calf to many calves.

No hyphen in Email and gone from Walmart?
This rule was to make the two words stand apart.
The words with hyphens we've learned and we know,
they may join or part, in this Word-Art-Nouveau.

Where to put a period or comma whilst in a quote?
Do we put them inside or outside, do take a note.
The British go outside and the Americans go in,
The rules seem arbitrary and get under your skin.

Then there are Homophones that we have to spell?
They can sound the same but our ear cannot tell.
Two too to, and flew, flu, flue, what shall we do?
Memorize, look it up, it's madly askew.

Ain't hour English easy to speak and two right?
The essay chore will keep won up half the knight.
Adding Latin and Greek, and French so to speak,
Every language applied, they finally tweak.

It Was Invasion

How will you measure the wide
gulf between words and hyphens ?
             The apostrophes will give you
             restrain and isolation.

The predators will sit and
wait for the fallouts. The night
             was your domain to start
             sinning; in erasing the numbers.

The midnight grief during the
assault of moon. Were you ready
             to unmask the hidden inter-
polator ? The merciless thrush ?

Candidiasis ? It was eating
away your smell, your taste
              and moments of glimpses
of the fire in the groins.

The Firebrands

Do not remove the hyphens.
The stars were trekking
on foot.

All that was a mirage.
A hot rood was leading
to a watershed.

The wholeness splatters
on the bank. The water,
takes all the dots and dashes.

The black tree was stark
naked. No leaves, no fruits.
Only the singed wood.

You cannot make the
matchsticks. You will have
to rub your hands to start the fire.
