Premium MemberHow can I help?

How can I help?
I was reading an article
about a conversation that a journalist was having with a Google executive
She said that with the H18 visa
She doesn’t feel like her stay in the US is permanent
That touches me
Having put down roots for over ten years
Only being plucked down and leave later
How would

Why I Never Get Help

Dissolve again.
Into some puddle of oil.
Sink, and sunken.
Then turn into an oil painting.
Dissolve again.
Like a penny.
I don’t think pennies ever dissolve.
They just get dropped into the sewer sometimes.
And no one looks for them.
They turn into monsters.
Dissolve again.
Like gray.
Gray just-
Crunches underfoot.
Stabs my feet.
Until I get rid of

Premium MemberLost And Found

The morning woods were crackling with unknown sounds.
Then I heard a rustling sound in the leaves.
The sound of footsteps was getting louder,
It wasn’t a something, it was someone.

Suddenly a large man fell to the ground.
His leg was bleeding; all he said was “trap”.
Cool water from my canteen brought him back.
A small trap, it hadn’t broken

Help

At the slightest cry, we rush to give,
But what of those whose pain won’t live
In vocal words or audible plea?
Will you help the one who hides silently?

Signs appear—subtle, yet clear—
Yet they resist, refuse to hear.
Why deny the aid they need?
What binds the heart

The Road She Walked

She kept walking—until emotions burst.
Weeping, she cried out in a public space,
Where no one cared enough to stop or see
The woman breaking at the corner of the road.

In her sobs, a memory returned:
A voice, a message—
New beginnings,
And a man who stood like a torch of light
In the dim glow of night.

But greed mocked her,
And laughter

Yet I Stand

Where do I stand
When presented with a choice
Transported by a full force
That lands me in a false chance
Yet, I stand.

Breaking the shackles
That held me in my ankles
So tight like a buckle
Wrapped in my knuckles
Yet, I stand.

What is given is a Token
The heart that bleeds is broken
The life that fades is taken
Certain thoughts can't be

Premium Memberhelp from a myna bird

I hear my ringtone
is that my phone?
I check, but there are no messages or calls.
Floyd, my myna bird is laughing with my Uncle Pete’s laugh.
Now he is imitating grandma Bee’s snoring noises.
He is such a trickster; an expert mimic, he is one of my favorite toys

The Silent Screams

There are voices all around us
Not loud, not obvious,
But aching to be heard.

Within this poem lies three unheard stories
Three souls, each silenced by society
A woman who smiles in fear.
A boy punished for love.
And a girl whose dreams shrink in the shadows.
Their pain is different,
But their silence is the same.

This poem is for them
For the unheard,

Help

Help is both a thing I need and a thing I can’t give out.
Every time I am asked for help I struggle to find the words to make it better so all I do is let out a silent yelp.
Lack of help and lack of knowledge makes me feel like my trying to help is

Premium MemberWhen help is not enough

he's a seriously troubled soul
dwelling on regrets
they're eating him alive

things he can't forgive
hurts he can't get past
dreams he left afloat
cobwebs in his mind

his rambling thoughts
will drive him off the cliff
and sink him to despair
it's bordering insanity

i see him surely drowning
and there's nothing i can do
if he won't grab the buoy
