Every word you ever said left a mark on my body.
Every comment.
Every remark.
Every slur.
Every one of your opinions.
Some left marks so deep, that others could see them. I started to try and hide them. I tried not to look at them, for my mind seemed to believe your lies.
Each word left its mark on my body until I had no more room. My body was covered in marks. My mind and body were so used to receiving marks that the first time somebody said something to remove one, I froze. I didn't understand at first why they didn't make a mark. But eventually, I learned that not all people will cause marks, some will help remove them because they too once had the same marks.
I still have some marks on my body, ones that we're too deep to go away. But now my body and mind are better, with fewer marks from you. I've learned to stop believing the lies you said to me. I've learned to help others remove marks they've received.

hey math tutor, I need help.
kids with questions - five at once!
multitasking, aging, geezer.
too much, too much, who needs help?
tasks need doing, people are waiting.
computers, phones, even TVs
are mind-boggling electro-monstrosities
gotta be there, gonna be late
car breaks down again, why now?
did I hurt her feelings or maybe his?
what is she expecting, anyway, and when?
I must improve my mindreading.
to prove myself I must work harder -
give a hundred ten percent
where am I gonna get that extra ten?
lose some sleep? borrow some money?
hey, buddy back off, that ain't funny.
hey mister, watch your step.
I'm a walking time bomb razor
time for me to go ballistic.
maybe I just got pushed too far.
whoa - time out.
kids got 18 years to learn.
they will be ok.
which of those tasks need doing?
which of those things can wait?
I think the world still spins without me.
my friends know i'm well intentioned
things will work out - it's ok.
I don't have to prove myself.
hey, buddy, nice to see you.
it sure is a beautiful day.
I hear voices.
That leaves two choices
either I'm hearing what's real
or my brain needs to heal.
I don't hear the voices outside
I don't hear them when I take a ride
I hear them when I try to sleep
as if gremlins behind my wall will creep.
The words are sometimes clear
Most often its just the tone I hear
A tone of gloating, dominance too
They know there's nothing I can do.
A drug floated to my frame from the roof
locked onto receptors, a cascade without proof.
I can't tell the cops, they'd send me to an asylum
The shrinks wouldn't believe, I know, I tried them.
One night, I protested the drugs were not FDA approved
Up above, something creaked, something moved.
A woman's voice said "who cares?"
So unexpected, I was taken unawares.
I've been pumped with drugs a very long time
can't convince the FBI of a new type of crime.
Bad guys can get in your house, then drug you
without outside help, what could anyone do?
I bought a scope, inserted it behind a wall
The space was too dark, saw nothing at all
Couldn't enlarge the hole, due to pipes, wires too
I couldn't pinpoint the source, not enough of a clue.
You might ask, if these drugs seep
how they change your body, so you want to weep
Some amplify your urge to reproduce
Drugs to control and can always tighten the noose.
They can wake you up each time you drift to sleep
So petty, so nasty, a moral dive so steep
They can damage your brain, damage your heart
Nobody comprehends why you're falling apart.
Suppose this is crazy, as the professionals "know."
It raises a specter, a scenario.
What if medical knowledge can be used to hurt, control
While disbelief hampers, makes the police AWOL.
I believe I'm drawing a curtain back
You can look or decide it's a schizophrenia attack.
Occasionally
We see
Phenomenal matters of love
With our heart
But not with our eyes
At first, we find ourselves happy
Where we unearth in the yard
At the bottom of the gravel
Gold or diamond
Inadvertently
By sheer luck
Or by accident
The great misfortune
Or happiness
Not far from the hourglass.
Love walks with the season and time
As the clock tells the tone and time
The barometer measures the pressure
Of love with patience and passion.
Periodically
We see
Unprecedented matters of love
With resentment
We ask for forgiveness and help
Since our heart
Is blind, swinish, emotional and sensitive
In the face of irreversible decisions.

light my fire
I pray my fire
keep burning
I hope it never
stop
cos what is life
if within my soul
am empty
light my fire
I live cos I
want to live again
who knows is
never the question here
cos I master my inner soul
so I bleed nothing else
but what good life bleeds
inside and out of me
I touch the world
cos my fire keeps
burning
so when ever you feel it
cold please
light my fire
light my fire
be my friend
be my brother
cos am a good keeper
I will never let you down
cos iron sharpen iron
our bound will live on
if we let the fire of love
lead us only
so when you sight my fire
so cold please
light my fire
light my fire
the world is cold
so cold in cold
Innocent blood
I guess we are taught
in ignorance
so I wonder what else
they wish we be
in this cold world
yet out from their slogan
we still shine
out from darkness
my fire still burns
out from isolation
we unite the world
with this fire within
and out
so when you see my
fire so cold please
light my fire
light my fire
is proven that love
is God
is true that love
is light
is obvious when it burns
it life I refuse I will always
never give up to bear
till I grave out of this
cold world
so if you are my friend
never let my fire cold so
always when am down
please help
light my fire
I remember when we met and sat talking for hours
At the picnic table beside the lake
Quickly, you became my partner
With a job that had consumed my life
Then we were a team through turbulent times
I thanked you for your help
You said, there is no need to thank you
It was the only time in my life,
I was not alone with burdens I carry
You were the one who cared about closure
But the caring you provided, cost you your life
It was this month, December, many years ago
You were taken without being able to say goodbye
I remember, I felt my strength die too
A part of me was gone, as I moved forward for you
Now, I am not sure how much time I have left
Maybe, those burdens we worked on, caught up with me
So these are my words, to thank you again
To let you know of my love for you, I never got to say
Except at your grave, covered with snow
Now, written with conviction of truth
Just as everything we pursued was based on
To say once again, I am sorry I couldn’t do more
My heart still aches for all that was never completed
The empty space remains, that was only filled by you
But I will see you on the other side
Where we will light up the heavens as we did on earth!

I long for … I need so … the comforting sooth
You’d provide in our relationships’ youth
But time and indifference have eroded away
The warmth and caring you used to display.
It’s not you don’t love me, I know that you do
But you have so changed, and … so have I, too.
We’ve grown apart … our interests have waned
Our relationship troubled, our interface strained
We used to hold hands … we used to go dance
Things we’d do … would build and enhance,
Our life together with our future to build …
But … being enthused was long ago chilled.
Please, Dear, help me rekindle the thrill
Of our youthful years, and then we’ll instill
A rebirth of caring of being involved
To enjoy indifferences being dissolved
We’ve conquered disease; we’ve beat down wrongs;
We’ve cried our tears; we’ve sung our songs
There’s nothing together which we cannot do
Please, once more, let’s be: Me … with … You.
Help me out and drown out the doubt
You know exactly what I’m talking about
Lately, I’m feeling low in the heat of Havasu
Lately, I have been the deeper shade of blue
The echoes of the screamer
Screamed silently like a daydreamer
Save me from my sorrow, sorrow
There’s yet another tomorrow
We are soaked in agony showers
Spent hours, counting several flowers
Using my powers in a productive way
Today isn’t like every single day…day…
Some say I’m beyond or below my comfort zone
Deep down, I’m never alone…alone…alone…on my own…
But soaked in agony showers
Soaking in agony showers
All over again…
Survive and thrive while he’s still alive
You know darn well I’ll rise above my dive
Hell broke loose in heavenly chains when I figured out oh so true
That you and I were meant to be so high with love’s might adieu
The echoes of the screamer
Screamed silently like a daydreamer
Save me from my sorrow, sorrow
There’s yet another tomorrow
We are soaked in agony showers
Spent hours, counting several flowers
Using my powers in a productive way
Today isn’t like every single day…day…
Some say I’m beyond or below my comfort zone
Deep down, I’m never alone…alone…alone…on my own…
But soaked in agony showers
Soaking in agony showers
All over again…
Deep down, I’m never alone, baby,
In my cherishably cheery cell of mine, of mine
Deep down, I’m soaked in agony
I’m feeling fabulous as always, my love so fine
The echoes of the screamer
Screamed silently like a daydreamer
Save me from my sorrow, sorrow
There’s yet another tomorrow
We are soaked in agony showers
Spent hours, counting several flowers
Using my powers in a productive way
Today isn’t like every single day…day…
Some say I’m beyond or below my comfort zone
Deep down, I’m never alone…alone…alone…on my own…
But soaked in agony showers
Soaking in agony showers
All over again…
All over again,
I’m soaking in agony showers
Spending hours, counting flowers
The flowers you sent me on my doormat
Flew away into the wind like a midnight bat
I’m soaking in agony showers
All over again…
Again, where have you been?
In your denial den
While I’m feeling like a ten
In my zone of zen…
In my alone zone again…
Agony showers, showers
Hurting me once more
Towers over me for hours
The pain inside — I adore
A 1952s
I pulled the penny from my pocket to toss it
In the change jar. All my change goes immediately
Into the jar upon arriving home. There it collects
Until I go to the bank and have it spun into paper.
Government printing presses have reduced coins
To money crumbs; pennies, more nuisance
Than value except when a clerk says, “That'll be $3.01”,
And not having a penny means 99 cents more for the jar.
Today was different. This time I looked at the date
On a coin. Why this time? The reflex of an old habit perhaps.
But I haven't collected pennies for years. My old album
Is stored away in a box with coins and bills labeled “granddaughters”
In case one of them has a curiosity about money before plastic or bitcoin.
My penny is stamped with the year 1952 and the letter “s” beneath.
“Give ‘em hell" Harry Truman was President then, the war in Korea raged
And the Red Menace grew. My ‘52s, a copper “wheat penny”, is no longer
Minted, but Abe, the Great Emancipator, now on inflation zinc, endures.
Wait, no - that would be too much! Could there be an empty
Space in the album still wanting a 1952s? I admit to feeling
Some excitement digging through the box and opening
The album titled “Lincoln Cents, 1909 - 1958.” But there it was,
The place labeled 1952s - and its empty! Oh, I'm a kid again!
But where has the penny been all these years since leaving
The San Francisco mint? How did it come to be in my “Sooner”
Pocket? How many other pockets, purses, or piggy banks have held it?
In passing from hand to hand it served to purchase satisfactions,
Give help with decisions or carry a wish. The penny gave its youthful
Gleaming to many uses now unremembered, yet the simple coin
Retains the price for my thinking:
“One’s true worth retains its luster, if in our outward dimming
We serve to brighten others”
