Meaner than ever
On a new endeavor
The weather gets better
We do NOT need a new header
Toast to true love
There is one above

MIDNIGHT IN VELVET
In blue midnight she wore deep purple velvet, a crown of thorns in silk,
To meet her love where moonlight cut the dark like broken glass.
Love whispered in the ocean of fear, a tide that pulled and broke,
Two shadows danced while the night held its breath, alas.
Soulmates split by a black hole of sorrow, stars swallowed whole,
Tears fell like rain on velvet, drowning every silent vow.
A single shoe left lost behind, a fit that cruel time stole,
Before we turned to golden ashes, we sang our last song now.
YOU RAN FAST AND FURIOUS NO OTHER LIKE YOU
MAN I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS
JUST TO GET MOTIVATED ENOUGH TO SHUFFLE BACK
HOME INTO THE ARMS OF THE WRIGLEY'S AND
BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE SOX ALL I KNOW A CUB
WOULD BE PROUD TO STAND BEHIND YOU UNLIKE
THE CHEESE HEADER WHO BOW DOWN TO YOUR NEVER
ENDING FLOW KNOWING YOU'RE GONE THEY DON'T
EVEN TRY NO MORE SURE THE DOLPHINS SWIM FREE
BUT THEY BATLLE THE BUCS ON ONE KNEE
TAKE ME TO THE BALL GAME OF HALL OF FAME
A PLACE WHERE I CAN ALWAYS READ YOUR NAME

Title: The Pattern of Hope
THE PATTERN OF HOPE
With needle and hope she sewed one piece of wool,
And from the bunting, star and stripe were born.
Red, white, cut by candlelight and careful pull,
A circle of thirteen, each by one snip worn.
Betsy, widow of courage, turned cloth to free,
Fed her family with hands that would not tire.
She made a nation’s pattern from nothing — see?
A flag of love stitched out of need and fire.
Now Sara cuts for daughters, just the same,
With very little money, but a heart of light.
Two women, different years, but one true name:
Courage that stitches darkness into bright.
From Betsy’s flag to Sara’s hem to me —
One needle, one pattern, sets our spirits free.

CHERRY PETAL FALLS

Email?
I’d rather eat kale.
Texting is more fun to me.
An informal decree.
Email is-
When you have business.
When you have something important as a paper letter.
What should I write as a header?
When I begin.
I wonder about the group I’m in.
How should I address them all?
I’d almost rather make a phone call!
Hello all,
I’m hoping to make a call
I think I sent that a little early…
I hope they don’t get surly.
But they might be confused.
Maybe amused…
How did I cause such embarrassment?
I wish I never clicked “sent.”
Email is when,
We all search within.
To choose the right word.
To be heard.
Hello everyone,
I hope you are having fun.
Wondering what I was trying to share.
You are curious, while I despair.
Is text better for everyone here?
Yes? That’s what I want to hear!
So in the end, we decided to use our phones.
So we can slouch on the couch in our homes.
Hello everyone!
Texting is way more fun :)

Both France and Australia were nil-nil until extra time when Aussie Alanna Kennedy’s misdirected header during a corner kick produced an own goal for France. The goal was disallowed for a foul inside the box by a French player. But Australia had more than luck on their side. Aussie goalie, Mackenzie Arnold, was a force to be reckoned with. The vanquished French coach Herve Renard said, “We came up against a Goliath of a goalie.” Then all it took was the late substitute Cortnee Vine to calmly convert the winning penalty kick. For the first time in their history, the host team Matildas are in the World Cup semifinals!

Matildas’ goalie Arnold—
France shown no merci
United States had looked defeated after Netherlands' Jill Roord scored a goal in the 17th minute, the first time United States trailed in a World Cup game since the 2011 quarterfinals. In the second half Lindsey Horan became angry after a hard tackle by Netherlands’ van de Donk. Minutes later Lindsey scored the equalizer on a thunderous header.

A fine poet's family tree's distinguished header is 'Poet Tree'
I'm wide awake, listening to the roar.
My musings become a glowing rainbow.
I lie pique designing vile dreams offshore.
I dream of an ominous sky shadow
Away from the ad nauseam skid row.
As political cases broach their peak.
To load airwaves with the rowdy prevail
Irritating and feeble header seek
While I slept, I grasped the heaven exhale
Moans were roundly rejected by the meek

It cracks me up, when I hear, people say, why does God allow things to go a certain way. Could it be, because we don't live for, and respect His gift of today? We pay more attention to our outer shells, and desires, then heeding the spirit yearning to get in, but needing a pathway granted from within. Man is equipped with individual and unique gifts, to overcome every obstacle, and perpetuate, his existence. Better to work as a team, passing the baton to the next, for the fastest time to any finish line, solving life's problems. If we can just chill only maintaining the outer shell, accept it's destined for a death knell, maybe outlooks and attitudes, can change for the better. Before your stress, worry, and anxiety cause you to take a header. Learn to focus out, not just pout. Could that be what it is all about? If we are going to die one day, until then, why not take a roll in the hay? Imagine if everyone instead of being so self absorbed, could cause a smile, or extend a kind word. Talk about a different kind of vaccine, free and instilling a different kind of immunity, in the human herd.
Not Superman, but "Super Spreader"
A "Lies & Virus" Double-header
He's heading your way
Tomorrow you'll pay
People we loved could not be deader!*

Here lies the body of Jamie McGraph
Who decided to write his own epitaph
Thinking a selfie might make it better
While taking the photo he took a header
Off the edge of a cliff into oblivion
"Came to a sticky end" the fitting idiom

They don’t get it, bunch of fools
Don’t they see how the media drools
Over each and every tweet
Crafted not to be discreet.
Are they blind to my great skill
Of bending media to my will,
Time and again I pull that trick,
And they fall over like a brick.
My strategy’s sublime there’s no denial
Prepped as a lawyer does for trial,
I make a case and sell it strong,
Daring them to call me wrong.
And once they do they’re in my trap
For all their energy I sap,
Each falling over like ten pins
To call out loud my litany of sins.
Oh dear God isn’t that great
How so easily they bait,
Puffed like Adders full of bluster
Regaling me with countless hours of laughter.
But with their faces ever redder
I’m invariably the header,
For my words to sing out loud,
To my all adoring crowd.
So on I go merrily tweeting
On a veritable shoestring,
The investment now all theirs
Fully answering my prayers.
