To Die is to Live

To Die is To Live

To die is to live in a life more complete
Where sorrow and joy in eternity meet
It's not just the, but a sacred release,
A journey to stillness, a moment of peace.

To die is to rise from the weight of the clay,
To step out of time and be swept far away.
The chains of the body, the cage of the skin-
Are broken like dawn breaking softly within.

To die is to bloom in a garden unseen,
Where souls wear no armor, and hearts are kept clean.
The pain that we carried, the love that we gave,
All echo like songs from beyond the grave.

To die is to live in the hearts we have known,
In stories retold when we are long overthrown
A shadow, a smile, a voice in the breeze-
A soul still alive in the rustle of trees.

To die is to sleep in the arms of the stars,
To travel through galaxies, shedding old scars.
No endings exist, just new forms to give-
For only the dead know how truly to live.

Premium MemberNo Wisdom's Wiser

( in loving memory of JPR)

Nowhere to go, is this a bonus feed
Maybe a curse, although it’s too grandstanding
Born into nothing, I’ve got nowhere to proceed
As if I fly too high to care about the landing
In fact, it was much simpler in reality
Dystopian curators were too lazy
And too corrupted to maintain the trad brutality
Corruption is godsent when rules are crazy
So I felt free and acted loosely, dear friend
But times again were changing their course
Much faster, but I got them in the end
No wisdom’s wiser than that smile of yours..

My family spoke two languages
I’m not the same
Results came in still thankless
Feels weird to be diagnosed anxious
Results so plain
I’m still hiding under several blankets
I ain’t sleeping
Then several days went
The same waste stays
Can’t clean when I’m chained by the anklets
Godsent prayers came in graceless
Repetitious technique chased off my basis
I’m jealous of the mares who run the Mesas
Too free to worry if we’re Serbian or Croatians

Expelled air
Pollution of the body left me breathless
I’m no better
Than shoot us in the feet
Allusion of me to embarrass the lesser
That’s no lesson

Premium MemberLost Without You

You pretend I am a dream
Worthless as a crooked seam

Love you are in my heart
A patient delved from the start

So easy to pretend I am fake
Your heart assembles when I wake

But truly I feel and envy you
You swallow my heart like you do

I am you you are me
Stop lying my soul and set us free

What power you have
Only you must know

Love conquers all
A heartfelt blow

It is your fault I dare say
Emptiness will be my drain

I free you my heart
Will all my love

A godsent blessing
So high above

Entangled we are as one
Until are life is fully done.

Premium MemberGod's On Mute

(Author’s note: This poem is a humorous look at how the pandemic changed our technology, our relationships, and maybe even our spiritual quests.)

God’s on Mute

By Mark D. Stucky
We forgot how to talk
during the pandemic.
Glitches often bedeviled us,
and we erratically conversed.
Technology was cursed
but also godsent.

We had to learn new words
and new meanings of words
when Zoom burst from obscurity
to overnight ubiquity,
helping to (almost) satisfy
our lonely souls inside.

And now I want to Zoom with God,
typing questions in the chat box
because He seems to be on mute
and His camera is turned off.
But I want to see the face of God
and take screen selfies of Him with me
to start a Facebook killer meme
and blow up Instagram and Twitter.
Pray tell where I can find and click
a divine invitation link!

Premium MemberWind Whispers of Love

"If you listen to the wind very carefully, you'll be able to hear me whisper my love for you."
                                 - Andrew Davidson

I write upon the wind my whispers of sweet love
hoping it will let you feel I'm nearer
They travel o'er seas and oceans
and reach you right on time
You send them floating back to me in the cool breeze
which kisses my cheeks and makes me blush red

I hold them close to my heart as I go to bed
and dream of us as one where time does freeze
Joy fills my heart in love sublime
no check on emotions
You will be my forever love and stay dearer
you're my Godsent miracle from above

Soon, we'll make mem'ries, save them in our treasure trove
our love will grow and grow crystal clearer
Once joined with our unique notions
we will strive to make rhyme
This glowing hope of our future, my heart does seize
and makes me rewrite those secrets we pled

A Sweet Scent

Never turn down
A gift of perfume;
You are a good fragrance to me:
I ignore it when it is around me:
I miss it when you are far away from me;
And I would never wash
Any pant you have worn.

It is no wonder you are Godsent,
God scented my life with you;
Which was nothing but
A stinking grave, hopeless at love and lost;
Yeah, you smell so good,
Even your kiss is nothing but musk.

My distress come from living without you,
Yearning for your scent;
Even for that I fell back then;
When you gave me your night dress;
And it laid on my pillow;
And it is that fragrance that
Has never deceived my senses,
A sweetness that covers me.

Your fragrance is sweet and
Your insides are sweeter tender;
I thank God He chose you for me,
Your fragrance rubs on to me;
It has rubbed on to me all these years;
Without you I am like an adult infant;
Yearning for it's lover's scent.

I Drained Life of Its Fullness

I drained life of its fullness...
not pricing its worthiness,
leaving nicks in the prime of youth:
deceitful tricks to ignore every truth.

I imitated parody to conceal identity,
thus making it forgery my priority;
and the masked nobleman acted out his
infamous burlesque play, ridiculing Fay...
knowing that her unrhymed lines
were intently borrowed from clowns,
not from gifted writers with clever minds;
did they bray when they were blamed for the delay?

My intent was not a merited Godsent or lofty thought
perceived by a gladiator who held the wilt
of his sword proportioned to his solid built,
but rather ridden by a guilt which had a powerful force to jilt
me when I was reduced to tears by my peers for my peculiar tilt.

I Am Nan -No Relation of Jan

I am Nan, no relation of Jan
Just an admirer and a fan
Her poems are well read
Mine are masterpieces (only in my head)
So you see I can't do what she can.

I am Nan, no relation of Jan
Just an admirer and a fan
Her sense of humor is godsent
Mine would be too if it wasn't absent
So you see I can't do what she can.

I am Nan, no relation of Jan
Just an admirer and a fan
Her sense of humour is very fine
I wrack my brains can't find mine
So you see I can't do what she can

I am Nan, no relation of Jan
Just an admirer and a fan
You say we are poles apart?
But we looked so similar at the start
Shortened my name to Nan so I can, like Jan.

Poetry Soup

***This poem is to all of my fellow soupers who have
kindly and generously read my poems, and lifted me up
with your kind words and opportunities....you are all
appreciated***

Tears of joy do linger
In the corner of my eye
The support that's offered here
Makes me want to cry

To all my newfound friends
on this godsent poetry site
Thank you all so much
You truly are my light

I was deep down in the dark
Seeking proffessional help
Then I came accross the soup
And you all read what I felt

Some Comments on My poems
Lifted my spirits way up high
I don't even "know" you guys
But still your always nigh

I dont need a therapist
To listen to my grief
God showed me this place
where I would find the most relief

I had to let you all know
My faith has been restored
It's a real tough year
But now I can thank and praise the Lord

He brought me here to you
From the pits where I was consumed
He knew you all would listen
And help me through this doom

It may not be much
But this is coming from my heart
Soupers, you saved a life
From you all i'll never part!!!

Godsent

My love is deepr than the deepest ocean,
wider han the ocean floor;
I know that what I'm feeling is true,
because I've never felt like this before.
Why does my heart feel this wy?
It's like a butterly fluttering away.
Tell me you love me too;
that you feel the same way as I do.
I want to spend the rest of my life with the one I love,
his name is Anthony, he's my angel from up above.
