I watch as the days go by,
I can’t help but wonder why,
why was I the one chosen to live in silent pain, as the days by, they leave me alone in my everlasting pain
every day goes faster than the last slowly eradicating my conciseness,
I gradually go insane more and more every day,
I can’t tell the difference between reality and my reverie anymore,
I can’t tell real from wrong so I indulge in my dreams knowing they take me nowhere in my reality.
the days just keep passing by leaving me alone in the darkness of the night,
I stare at the stars dreaming of a life that differs from mine,
it’s a far-off dream that I know will never become trustworthy but I can’t help but dream,
for my reverie is the only thing keeping me sane, in this horrible little reality.

When we’ve commenced this journey of love, so profound.
Our hearts are filled with hope that our love may abound.
Hand in hand, we embarked this relationship anew,
And through the years, our love continues to grow.
Through all life's twists and turns, we're still tightly bound.
Where the relish in our hearts can still be found.
The years went by and we stoutly weathered life's storms,
Trekking lofty mountains and yet our bond transforms.
For many years as one, we've ceaselessly walked this road,
Building a love that's strong, bringing a heavy load.
But in the hardest moments, we’re braced by God’s grace,
His unfailing love for us continues to embrace.
So, let the years continue to quickly pass us by,
For our love, like honey, grows sweeter as we try.
With you by my side, my hopeful heart will always soar,
Sweeter as the years go by, we’ll thrive more and more.

If history is anything to go by,
When a storm of a different kind comes by,
We may wonder why,
We blew our chances goodbye,
For somewhere for friends and foes to get by,
While above ground the sun becomes hot enough to fry,
And sandstorms leave few left with even one good eye.
If history is anything to go by,
Without somewhere underground for friends and foes to get by,
It will not matter who can tell the biggest lie,
When locusts take to the sky,
Or the lions come out of the zoo for something new to try.
If history is anything to go by,
Without somewhere underground for friends and foes to get by,
When more meteors than missiles are in the sky,
It will not matter who can tell the biggest lie,
When both friends and foes have blown their chance to get by,
Unless there are open tunnels nearby,
When both friends and foes need to wave above ground goodbye.

In your 20’s you are fearless,
In your 30’s you’re divine,
In your 40’s you are ruthless,
But, start feeling the decline.
In your 50’s you start questioning
All the years you‘ve left behind.
In your 60’s you feel grateful,
For waking up each day.
In your 70’s it becomes surreal,
As your memory decades.
And this is why age stops right here
It’s merely my advice,
For those who go beyond their 80’s
Should just be happy they're alive.

watching the planes go by in an open field
a glass of cherry apple cider in my left hand
my thoughts are on nothing
life is on hiatus in my mind
i have a week off
it feeling awfully good doing nothing
i am wishing that she was here, but she chose him
now i am joined by her, and her smile matures me so as she takes it all in
in her right hand, i bottle of water, blueberry flavored
her head is rested on my shoulder
her hand is relaxed and intertwined in mine
i am fully awakened as is her
another planes goes by

experiences add wear and tear on the human spirit
Responsibility demands one respond to their ability
The game of life becomes risk and reward
Time become more valuable, and no one can afford to waste it
As the years go by
The journey back to self begins after years of childhood conditioning
And programing from society.
There is the desire to heal and question what is real.
As the years go by
You begin to discover what you want instead of catering to the demands of what he, she they want.

Everyone’s ideas are marvelous
for them
and maybe for thousands of others
but as for me
I have to go by my own ideas
Mine might be farfetched and semi- ridiculous,
but they come from my heart, my soul, and my confidence.
These three have never steered me wrong.
But they are incredulous!
Exactly!
They are outlandish!
I know.
There is a one in a million chance they will work.
I nod. “There is a chance then.”

The cedar dock splinters out to the moon's shine
Like the second hand ticking along
A white-faced clock
Drawing in loose boats and green moths
To its sweep of time
Is there any difference
Between those little dots of cabin lights
Strung like pearls along the shore
Three miles across Torch Lake
And the stars crowded light years away?
Orbs swirling with life in the dark
Even now
We only but understand the skin of the universe
The ripples of a lake
Thin clouds aching like fossils
Under the moon’s archeological search by headlamp
My wife and I at the campfire
Measure distance
By the relief of this quieted July Sunday night
And the passing orbits of the space station
Three cycles
Is the most we’ve ever survived
Depends on how full the cooler is
And how many words we have left to hum and turn
Holding hands as the night whittles away
And the flames lower to a bath of embers
To the tapping Morse code of our bare toes.

AS TEARS GO BY
I sit and reminisce, as tears go by.
Was a confused
little girl
about
two
young
sisters,
one gave me
and the other
raised, loved me. Bitter sweet, as tears go by.

Then your falling youth
How pitiful!
In long-term use-
Suspending, feeble breasts-
Obsessed, nostalgic-
Recalling the lustrous sunlight.
There grows-
The line of oblivion of quarter century
There grows-
In the line of the setting sun.
As if the rays coming from hidden gold under dust
And it scatters into wonder light rays.
The beautiful rainbow remains suspended
In the stream of light of the blue sky
Smears the melody of a bow on its body.
The lust of a voluptuous woman
Diminishes off in the horizon
At the end of the day
The majesty of a pigeon
Returns to its nest
With exhausted flying wings
At the end of the day.
The drunk hem of the sari
Flies on the roof
The silver rays of light remain playful
Play in the dancing style
Breath in the burning sweat point after fall
Life searches for nirvana in exhalation.
But-
The bright day hides in the darkness of night
Then days go by, just go by
And the sprouted youth horse tramples
The pitiful shadow of old grandfather.

As the days go by I sit and think,
I see as everyone drives by,
I wonder what their lives are like,
A Day is a Day, I sit, tomorrow will be better when it comes,
A Week is a Week, I still sit, a year from now I will be,
A Year is a Year, I have sat,
And yet still I am there,
No One Sees Me,
But I am There,
I think but tomorrow I will be,
Driving by too,
Seeing where I used to sit,
Not missing it there.

Oh the years do go by,
Like the speed of the Second hand
I dreamed of you last night
And your face had not changed
Your voice the same sharp instrument
Your gesture the same incantation.
The years have molded to
Perfection yet they have
Bared no delights
The years have taken minutes
And hours from us we could
Have used when we were together.

J-ust let the rain go by,
A-s it truly comes and goes;

N-ow let the rain go by, the sky will never stay gray;
E-very cloud has a silver lining, look for the light of day.
L-et the rain go by,

A-llow not your eyes to cry;

When very young, you looked ahead
Games often filled your sleepy head
When planning what you’d do today
You’ll play, cos fun was on the way.
Then, come the changes as you grow
You’re climbing ladders as you go
By growing up, and working hard
You get a home, and mow the yard!
Finally, quiet times roll around
As retirement days you are bound
Stop looking out, start looking in
For now, a new life will begin…
Morning legs are slow to walk
Sometimes you’re too tired to talk
Must be careful what you eat
As old age you are forced to greet!
Doctors say you must slow down
That is when you start to frown!
Pull yourself up by the ruff
Show them all, you have the stuff!
Face your fears, as come they will
Life need not be a bitter pill
Tho years may show upon your face
Wisdom they cannot erase!

Sitting Here Watching The Birds Go By
How Joyful They Seem In Pairs They Fly
Makes My Soul Start Wondering Why
Humans Let It All Go By
Tear Ducts Full As Couple Holding Hands Go By
Wondering What Went Wrong And Asking Why
Humans Can't Get It Right Though They Try
Humans Break Hearts And Make You Cry
Perhaps I Should Stop Asking Why
Humans Can't Learn From Birds That Fly
Humans Let It All Go – Bye
