Glibly goes; the globalists line deprivation is freedom
And eternal war is so fine' repression of the west that
Had afflulence and health.' That might spill over? to the
Third world..Kept upon its own shelf.' By empowered
Populations un-predated by war, in appreciation of advances, from the decades gone before..As thought
Pharoah Tutmoses; the second to none? The folk in
General are most numerous, of my riches whats is to
become? So he made 'interventions and punishments'
Hard.! to deplete them in number..To kill young males
His trump card.' And yet there was plentitude, innovation
All was well.' Now his agressive intention unto evil actions
Would sound the death knell.'

“In a rundown, the runner is in a pickle that could become a rhubarb.” ~ by poet
Rundown.
He's trapped between
bases being pursued
by the fielders who glibly smile
because they know they have the advantage,
to perhaps overtake and tag
the beleaguered runner,
to foil the run.

Revisiting The Same Ground
Over and over again
I find myself returning
to the same thoughts, ideas, histories
but now with years more experience between
and years more depth
behind what were once words
so glibly recited.
Is this how we all learn,
parrots one and all, reciting
lessons, sounds, songs and jingles
until they somehow
take on meaning
filled with the substance of Life
which at every turn
fill again a little more?
Tide-like the mind moves
in cycles of night and day, wake and sleep
building layers which erode
but never really go away
layers which in time harden to stone
sedimentary then metamorphic
each supplanted by the next
in endless waves across endless generations.
And so we go
treading the same old ground
‘round and ‘round
haunted by glimpses of déjà vu
humbled by realization
we have been here before
without a clue
how blind we really are.

Once a nation
Supremely white as driven snow,
Singularly Christian, white and male,
Purely untarnished, and aglow,
Grandeur unparalleled in fairytale.
Hence a grievance
Punitively bold as bloody hellfire,
Potently prosecuted in seats of power,
Oppressively waged against objects of ire,
Prisms of nonwhites seeking justice in the hour.
Now a leader
Colossally void as sterilized weaponry,
Glibly sanctions white phobia and rage,
Lethally enflames this proto-fascist fancy,
As corporations provide aid to the rampage.
Thus a faction
Devoutly for leader, they stand down,
Steadfastly ready for the order to kill,
All woke-ish elitists, and enemies black and brown,
That white men reclaim their rightful place at the till.
Violence of mind
Shocks no one in America,
Where thugs are part of romantic lore.
With our ascendant authoritarian replica,
Are we ready for what washes ashore?

*And when you'd almost bet
You could hear yourself sweat,
He walks in.* -Neil Diamond
I approached the cherry cherry
fire bush in my garden.
“Who are you?” I asked,
“I Am, I Said” answered
the conflagrant shrub
in a guttural gravel croon
“Neil, is that you?” I exclaimed.
“Why are you here?”
“Holly Holy…I happened to Be
in the neighborhood this Hot August Night
and thought I would reach out.”
“Reach out?” I retorted.” No…wait
let me guess…Touching Me”?
“Well, yes…touching you…
You’ve seen our ceiling
in the Sistine Chapel, haven’t you?
The one of Me and you,
Doing the holy Digit?”
“Well…sure”, I responded glibly,
“So good…So Good…
wouldn’t You say?”
“Well, yes …old Mikey
had a knack, for the oils,
But not so good, for you,
My Solitary Man,”
Is that because I don’t
Bring you flowers anymore?
“Well, Yes, and you might want to ask
Cracklin’ Rosie a little more about that;
You’ll find her down yonder deep
in the barbie pit grilling her liver,
.....If you know what I mean.”

How long must the hostility and bitterness continue
The clear majority has made its preference known,
The higher courts of the land have verified what is true.
How much evil and vindictiveness are together sown
Like springtime plantings of wheat and chaff --
Hateful attitudes no one should glibly want to own.
There seems no meeting ground with the other half
No time or place for formulating a working compromise
Relishing every unintentional slip-of-the-tongue gaffe.
A feeling something right and good in America will die
That never again shall we experience the noble calling
To truth, giving praise and adulation to those who lie.
Are we watching the great republic that is America falling?
Our future demands we respond to truth’s higher calling.

Please be gentle, oh Father
With those who are suffering this day,
Protect my nurse neighbor, give her the courage
She must have to hold her fear at bay.
As you have given us the tools to make
Anxiety pills for we weaker ones,
Take Covid away, Take Covid away,
And glibly that “you made all” I’ll hold my tongue.
Father, it’s to suffer to be alone, to know
The horrid breaths that are being fought,
Please, pale our panic and with panic today
Kill the cowardly spirits we hide, chase Covid 19 away.

Visibly bald from losing his hair,
lucky uncle explores healthy fare.
Fresh veggies constrain follicle halt,
fixing a maturing hairline’s fault.
Vainly Uncle George emits forced yawns
glibly disarmed as new girlfriend fawns.

The Conference in Davos
Davos, men in classy suits, speak fluently
about the ills of the world-
They tell Greta she has to study economic
and coal will be phased out but slowly.
The young wonder why should they study
to get an excellent job in a multinational firm.
Davos, men in elegant suits, speak glibly
of growths, we don’t want more; we like less.
The young know this, we poor elderly too
and it is their future; those in silk suits fail to see.

As moonlight strolls where sunlight glibly danced
along the awkward stairway to the lake,
I chased my mind but didn't have a chance
to catch its bouncing beams across the wake.
I wondered why the moon's path always seemed
to find me hidden somewhere on the shore -
no place to hide nor question without dreams,
was it just me alone that it adored?
So simple and complex our lazy thoughts
that stop to take a measure of the night;
alone is where each perfect peace is fraught
with truths that tangle minds in fickle flight,
just like the frantic course of wayward sparks
that drift until they're lost within the dark.

"Only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun."
So says the gun lobby—the bad guy with a gun!
School, shop, and street wax wet with blood,
But the hum of the gun works drowns out their cry.
Their tears, still, run deep in our ears
Sweeping away old lies about guns
That gun shop bums so glibly put forth.
By caskets in a ditch, they make their pitch
To conjure gun sales out of every shooting.
"Strap a mop to a gun butt to blot the blood," they'll say
Knowing that in our fright they can fly us like a kite
And lead us by a string to gun shops and the like.
Soon, though, we see not more sales alone
But in their red wake more hells too.
By right we arm but by love disarm.
Now is the nation called to love:
By gun control we challenge not your rights
But your heart to sacrifice that love entails.
So give me not a reading of the law
But tales of love's deeds in hearts and homes—
How racks have shed arms like autumn leaves
And turned the land from red to gold.

Brexit Sonnet No.2
‘Precious Time’
One Billion earned takes patience, faith and years.
To calculate it out on goodly pay,
It’s twenty thousand years of sweat and tears,
Twenty thousand years with little say.
Yet glibly do we quote this awesome sum;
To use an average wage it’s even more.
Thirty seven thousand years ‘till done.
Beware this sum; it’s more for rich than poor.
One hundred millennia for Brexit’s wayward turn;
So grab that trunk, shake that moneyed tree,
To gullibly pay again for what we burn.
So please don’t spend or trade this time for me.
Disgorge your Pounds and Euros by all means,
But waste not my precious time on useless dreams.

In her tear and dirt streaked face
Her melancholy eyes still seek
Shifting memories that flit and flee
Shadows of the past still speak
A Spark of Hope for each passing glance
Searching for her love long gone
Rain or shine in this spot each day
Rejection plays its own soulful song
Deep in the echoes of her sighs
An unrequited love not died
Whispered words speak of eternal love
Tripping glibly off a tongue that lied
Yet she lingers on a departed promise
Her nuptial dress ragged with age
A key deliberately tossed-discarded
Trapping true love in a rusted cage
To her tear streaked cheek a locket she holds
I see a beauty that once was strong
And I weep for her and her shattered heart
Holding broken dreams - far too long
If I could but give her back her YESTERDAY
Bestowing on her a true love to stay not stray
Footnote:
Dedicated to an unknown melancholy young lady whom I saw sitting in a busy subway dressed in tattered lace, with a soulful look in her eyes and it instantly brought the Beetles song ‘Yesterday’ to mind.
The verses are not written to match the music.

Its simply amazing
the way you move your lips
forming words
which fly off
glibly
off your tongue
for a purpose
best known to you
Its simply amazing
the way your wicked mouth
slanders
the souls of your friends and foes alike
while mouthing
sweet nothings in my ear
again for a purpose best known to you alone.
How vacuous is your smile
as your eyes betray
deeper meanings
which are at once sublime
and hollow
beyond words
beyond meaning.

I really should'a read the fine print,
it got hidden by belly button lint,
'cause while I signed it quickly
her lawyer laughed so glibly...
now I'm off doing a thirty-year stint!
