Atta-Gal I'm your Man tonight

The perfect indication
a smirk, with some flirtation
a special night
for dating
do you wanna dance with me

Suggestive comments got me thinking
that atta-bouis
and all that winking
laning on me
got me thinking
you wanna dance with me

aint got the right stuff for staying
work in the morning my Boss aint
playing
But you got me wanting
some forward thinking
the night aint through
when the band finishes playing

I got a kiss
after a whisper
the gentlemen said
she called me her Mister
Right night
the romance of the mmusic
dancing
smiling and grooving
what a night
what a romantic evening
got a foolish man
beleiving
take my time
clm all the feelings
freshen up for a specail evening

Nature's Gift

wind, come surround me with your timeless gust.
freshen up my numb body so i can move again

sun, direct your rays to unfreeze my brain.
lighten up my clouded mind so i can be reasonable again

moon, sparkle my nights along with the stars.
shine through my darkest hours so i can fear mo more again

water, splash me with your ever cleansing power.
wash off doubts in my soul so i can trust myself again

fire, warm me with your burning flame.
melt the madness and so i can cry tears of joy this time

rain, drop less than usual on my way.
sprinkle me lightly please so i can have myself space and time

when night is over, another day to conquer.
and it goes on and on all the time

every day poem

everyday i wake up for the next day

everyday I get in the shower before school

everyday I get dressed and brush my teeth

everyday I freshen up to get ready and head to school

everyday I lock in for school and get as much done as I can

everyday I finish my school assignments and head to work

everyday I go to work and make money after school

everyday I finish work and enjoy the rest of my day

To the Sea

A white plastic bag flapping on a stark tree
acts as a windsock if I needed one – I don’t.

The GPS guides my mind upon a flickering map
toward salt water
where silver fish are leaping into the cold air,
gulping at a low-hanging haze.
Still as stone is the marbled sky.

I have yet to arrive,
the shore is bereft of place and time yet.
We will all freshen up later.

Until I am there
I travel incognito using a name
I once found in a book of minor sorrows.

My niggling fret this day is a longing for the sea
here in the middle of a prairie
where buffalo slowly much the miles ahead.

The rolling rubber is impatiently whirring,
pining out here, speeding over dry dinosaur bones.

Five hundred aqueous daydreams ahead
a shore fish-restaurant is already
opening its doors.

Premium MemberI Freshen Up Friendships

I freshen up friendships
even after they have been crammed into drawers for years
I revive them
shake them out
blow off the cobwebs
call and reconnect

Some recognize me immediately
others take a while, so I laugh
there are only two others in the world with this laugh
the wicked witch of the west
and the witch who tried to trick Hansel and Gretel

They know who I am now
and they remember something funny
that I have probably forgotten
But pretend to remember
in an effort to reestablish our connection

Premium MemberWhat's Up

I’ve been working on my website - it’s been neglected for so long.
I’ve been wearing out Spotify - I may have listened to every song.
I walk five miles a day - because you’ve got to get outside
and I can easily spend an hour a day on “Just Dance” exercise.
I’ve been taking free on-line courses at “open university”
They have a thousand choices - an almost endless diversity.
Have you ever heard of “Headspace” - it can help you to relax
If you haven’t tried meditation for stress - I think it’s unsurpassed.
I’m learning about meal planning and cooking things with ease
I’ve been Zooming with an old GF, in China, to freshen up my Cantonese.
Even with a thousand distractions - this lockdown is driving me crazy
But it isn’t because I have nothing to do, and it isn’t because I’m lazy.
People just need people - so that we can laugh, love and compete,
or simply be together - that’s how humans feel complete.

Fresh Out of Ideas

If you are fresh out of ideas,
You may need to freshen up the ones you have,
Throw out the ones past their use by date,
Listen to what comes out of the mouths of babes,
And don't discount all of those that come out of an old hat.

Grandiose Ideas

In the middle of the night
When I can’t get back to sleep
All these grandiose ideas
In my wired brain do creep.

I will clean out all my closets.
I will rearrange each drawer.
I will freshen up the furniture
And spiff up the décor.

I will organize my poetry
To fit into a book
And the children’s tale I’ve started
Will get more than just a look.

I will sit and read the travel guides
I’ve purchased for a trip.
I will self-impose some discipline
And really crack the whip

In the morning, though, reality
Comes crashing with a thwack.
The enthusiasm 2 a.m.
Inspires won’t come back.

Yen In Reverse

Two finger salute
They do a little dance
Gotta wash your hands
Two finger salute
Chew a piece of gum
Freshen up some
Two finger salute
Maladaptive solution
For a funhouse illusion
Two finger salute
I saw you through a mirror
Late in the night
Staring at myself so long
I saw through to the other side
You were combing your hair
You were brushing your teeth
I picture you reading in the den
With some food on the table
Picking up your pen
And writing
After a two finger salute

Recipe For Life On the Up

Wise up,
Stand up, Man up, Straighten up,
Listen up, Sit up,
Learn when to shut up and don't Play up.

Freshen up,
Mix up, Stir up, Mash up, Cook up, Fry up, Set up,
Eat up, Fill up, Drink up,
Try not to Burp up, or Bring up,
Wash up, Clean up.

Dress up, Drive up, Walk up, Make up,
Don't be Stuck up or have a Bust up.

Join up, Turn up, Speak up, Write up,
Never be part of a Jack up.

Build up, Hoist up, Reach up, Hop up,
If you Stuff up, Fix up.

Save up, Round up, Pay up,
Never say "stick em up"
Or you may End up Sent up.

Cheer up,
Don't forget to look up.

Sleep Tight

You had a heart off gold, known by a lot off people young and old.I cared for you right until the end ,you was my dad and best friend.I came to you every day ,I don’t want to rely on u I hear you say .But dad you mean everything to me .I remember right back to sitting on your knee .Then unfortunately you get copd. You tryed so hard to fight .So scared of me leaving you at night. Then you start to dehydrate The food I made u no longer ate.The dreaded time arrived when ur life took the dive,Down hill you could no longer take nebuliser or pill.Off to the hospital for a check,I get the call I’m a nervous reck.To the hospital with you I stay, major heart attack the nurses say.your organ now begin to shut down ,I cry and frown. Please dad don’t go,But your words and action become slow.Every night I slept in the hospital chair, brushing my fingers through your hair.Nurses came told me to freshen up at home , no I whont let my dad pass on his own .time has come you take you last breath ,rest in peace my angel your the best . Veggie Vote

Tis the season once again
For me to cast my vote
This year I'm going Bananas
Instead of Artichoke

When it comes to Apples & Oranges
They're pretty much the same
As I close the curtain on the booth
And just start punching names

Asparagus is tops on my list
Much more than Brussels Sprouts
What Veggie will lead the charge
We'll have to wait to find that out

So let's freshen up the voting block
And somewhere in between
As we vote raw our favorite vegetable
The rest of them we'll steam

Promise

Waliking towards you with a smile on my face,
I promise in my life no one can take your place...

Looking at you with those twinkling eyes,
Within you my life lies...

With my head on your shoulder, with my fingers entangled in yours,
The minute you leave me, my life takes a pause...

A No to bouquet of flowers, A No to bar of chocolates,
Coz, you have freshen up my stodgy life like the rain droplets...

Every single moment with you seems to be beautiful,
We are still standing 'Toghether'- This thought makes me gleeful...

Our Love is pure, Our love is divine...
I promise to love you even when I'm ninety nine...
