I Freshen Up Friendships

I freshen up friendships
even after they have been crammed into drawers for years
I revive them
shake them out
blow off the cobwebs
call and reconnect

Some recognize me immediately
others take a while, so I laugh
there are only two others in the world with this laugh
the wicked witch of the west
and the witch who tried to trick Hansel and Gretel

They know who I am now
and they remember something funny
that I have probably forgotten
But pretend to remember
in an effort to reestablish our connection

It's a good thing to do. I have some old-time friends that I should freshen up a bit. I just hesitate to pick up that phone and call. I wonder if they feel the same way????

Stop hesitating and DO IT; it will be GREAT for both of you!
