Promising to solve age-old problems very soon
a year or two, at most, from our graduation in June
I myself was sure that poverty could be licked right quick
yet 50 years later it’s still on the uptick
A friend of mine told me in a decade racism would be dead
but even today, it rears its ugly head
And as for wars, they’ve gained momentum, fiercer than ever
governments’ ‘permanent endeavor’
So, here’s to all you cocksure, problem-solving new grads, oh-so-clever
~ May yours be the first generation to live forever…

Whene'er I find myself alone and ponder,
My life grown small around me clamps my heart,
And fiercely beats the rain, fiercer the thunder,
I cannot save myself by any art...
And when within this prison of my mind,
I know that nothing good can ever be,
Where no ray of the Sun I ever find
It seems sometimes, I sudden, think of thee,
And then, all rays of Sun that once were lost,
And good things once forgotten, now may be,
Then I leap up and do not count the cost,
And break my bands and all at once, am free
Unbound, my heart ends rain, makes silent, thunder
Makes vapor, shades, and bursts the dark asunder.

I am terrified and this is love
Resignation; this is love
Yours is fiercer than mine, less green
Pale, flowing as a riverbed and more of it
Yours is funny in the basest way
My body curls around the edges as you talk
Away from your mouth
Backed my nose into a wall
Crushing myself to let you love me
And feel no shame in it
Is that a service to the both of us
Will our children not be grateful
That I slowly grow away
The more my fingers bite cuts into my palm
I soothe you with my lips
And whilst air blows through
Your clouds of smoke
Me and my riverbed behind the house
Hidden by the trees you paid for
Sink deeper than we’re ever out to do
Is it you that I cannot let die
Or your child-self in the cellar
Locked away with the dust and me

Like A Phoenix I Rise
By lady Arabella
Like a Phoenix in the ashes I rise above
With a heart full of kindness and love
Reborn from the pieces left broken
From the words that were left unspoken
But like a Phoenix I recuperate
In order to refocus and renovate
Even the strongest can combust and can go up in flames
There’s no need to feel shame
Instead learn the lesson it’s trying to teach
Read these words that are there to preach
And like a Phoenix rise from the ashes
Let your truth speak to the masses
Don’t hide behind the past and place blame
Just ensure you’re no longer the same
Like a Phoenix let yourself be re born again
Don’t dwell on you’re deign
Come back from it fiercer than ever
Ensure it’s ties you sever
Let it all go up in flames
Watch it burn as you fight to reclaim
Like a Phoenix learn to soar high and become reborn
It’s your time to be adorn
So rise and learn to fly above
Remember during this time the importance of self love
Like a Phoenix from the ashes, it’s time to start over
Remember this is your time for a changeover

I have felt betrayal, been broken hearted. I've been called names and taken advantage of.
I have been used, manipulated and conned and made to do things I didn't want to do.
I have allowed these things to happen. I have been an enabler, a just smiled and kept going.
These have built a rage inside of me that comes from the pit of my stomach it's like a bear waking after the winter to no good.
I am starving for love and furious that I have been betrayed and deprived of it.
I could attack and find a feast or i can learn from it and prepare myself for next winter and stock up on what I need so this doesn't happen again.
I'm not a baby bear I'm a grown bear full of wisdom in the bank and prepared to use it this time, because I can see a feast for many that would like to sit on my table after the winter and appreciate and treat me well, and for the leeches, the takers the Narcissistic snakes, let them try to size up someone else but be prepared to take me on.
Because I am a Bear fiercer than many, try to do me wrong, but remember I'm not forgiving.

POW! Right on the Kisser!/b>
In my best dreams you plant one (POW! Right on the kisser!)
but not with your fists, my dear, war’s touch is fiercer
than lips I aspire to, and tastes more like passion, chance given,
poor heart so enraptured by glances. By mercies I’m riven,
feel hog-tied and gagged in your presence, my soul ice,
blood boils (at the same time), mind locked - is this paradise?
Will life’s end know the answer, must blood pay for verdict?
Is love on God’s path for my life? Am I addict
just looking for hit, hooked on smack? Place reserved at Love’s table,
a chance I’ll be chosen to join who sits there? As I’m able
(dear loved ones) I’ll save seats for you! Christ’s the soul’s hope,
His Grace said, “sufficient for all!” (If faith saves that’s dope)!

I have defined Meditation
As Prayer of Hesitation:
Time-Claiming Conversation
With Solver of Protestation,
Not Near Human for being Divine,
Though you might speak like you drank Vine;
Samuel-Seeking Faint Syllables,
Hannah’s Ear-Disturbing Babbles:
Eyes of one staring at nothing,
Lips tightly asking for something:
More charged than Prayer in Wattage
And by far fiercer in Voltage...
A Peter under lock and key
From Bars to be hanged on a tree,
Upon release Kangaroo Court,
Where they would him judge as long sought
And next face Herod’s Cold Murder,
When they have Guards given Order…
It’ll have to be Meditation!
In-The-Spirit Recitation!
Maximum-Level Quiet Time!
To Peter make Slippery Slime!

When the snow falls in
the roads will be blocked
So cross over now
before it's too late
Take yourself away
grow in isolation
Greet the Sun, love the moon
and live with the nature
You will rise and shine
brighter than them all
Your fire will be fiercer
your will stronger, your strength unmatched
Your beauty aglow, your desires awakened
burning through your heart, raging through your mind
The demons shall leave
and your will shall preside

Submission
By Beverly Stock
I called the editor knowing
That my temper would be showing
And said the following to him:
“I sent a poem here, sir”
(I said growing fiercer,)
“And the subject which
I’d chosen, Sir, was Spring.”
“ I just scanned your paper,
By sunlight, torch and taper,
Of my poem, I do not see a thing”
He spoke, I’m sure it was a fib,
Said he, smug and very glib,
“Of the sixty-one submitted, we printed one.”
“And we’ve decided they should be divided
Among the years then reunited
With a new one each succeeding Spring.”
“Your submission, I’m pleased to mention-”
Will receive our best attention
In our Spring Edition - 2081.”

Now, rarer than a virgin
By a very wide margin
And being forced to take Eagle’s flights
From polling stations of Ugly fights.
In many countries
Being hanged on their tallest trees
And given a cause to grip ‘The Rescuing Near’
All the time wearing some bitter tear
Free-and-fair Election
Needs the greater protection
Of Transparent-Election-Promoting pictures
And Political- Sanity-Restoring lectures…
Camera-brandishing foreign observers!
And Democracy’s fiercer preservers!
Inconsolably begins to weep
As the polls draw nearer
It, unfailingly going down the deep
With the manipulations of every flag bearer.
A headache-lot worrying the United States,
When kicked around by other states
But lately her name nearly dragging in the mud,
When her forty-sixth presidential appeared to have gone mad.
Now, why would elections be fair
Covetous Eyes on victory, the snare
Year by year elections
To continue dying in the arms of advance elections?
Not in itself, giver of good governance
When on the cherished seat balances a mere Breathing Thing
With that unleashing a painful endurance of a four-year Administrative Nothing.

I feel....
I feel the fresh scent of rain
Like wings, it spreads out with life
And ascends the hills of hope
I perceive....
I perceive gushes of boost
Spilling in Mother Earth's belly
Rinsing all its leaves with strength
I sense...
I sense the fragrance of rain
Fiercer than the former
Dissipating through the blues and deeps
I see...
I see the tree wave for joy
And the land open up its tummy
To receive the gracious tears of the sky
Know...
Know the hope this scent of rain brings for you
Believe that it’ll surely rain again
Even when your land’s been long dry

The Laurels in my garden line the fence,
resplendent in their leaves of vivid green,
the undersides are coloured less intense
and on the gentle days, they hang unseen.
But, come the fiercer wind from the south west,
the boughs bend to its will, nowhere to hide,
both trees yield to the force, do not contest,
as all leaves turn and show their other side.
We show one side to all, that's clear to see,
when life is good, and no hard choices made,
but only when in tougher times like these
our characters turn light or darker shades.
We all have sides that many do not know,
true colours, only shown when ill-winds blow.

Under vivid scattered sun rays
Of the boundless horizon spun;
Thy breath spent upon mine cheeks graze
Disarray gripping visit won.
Thy deep warm bass pulse, resonant,
Unfurl a thrumming flow as one
Through bare feet. Provoking movement,
Need to feed not just anyone.
Twisted hunger for more than fate
An infinite pleasure heart's truth.
Melodic scores though intimate
To beat fiercer within. Forsooth.
Full quietus of thy calm makes
Absolute wisp of it awakes.

How many times did I gaze on thy face
In mine daydreams? When spent sun was fiercer;
Before night lapse in dank vesture of lace.
Mine wane smile died with memories dear sir.
Whiff scent of nature's breath upon mine cheeks
Unfurl the substance in mine trouble soul.
Swell of explosive unsated love seeks
Warm wisp embrace, of thy intimate whole.
Brush flitter, around musical full score
Ivory fingers purposeless upon
My ebony frame, asking for much more,
Sweet release, mine demise, a distant yawn.
Eternal sunshine that was mine, a force
That's still mine total joy, but night's remorse.

I never ask you for a ring,
Or fine dining,
For your gaze burns
Fiercer than cubic zirkonia,
Sending fire through my veins,
Your eyes my nourishment.
So hand me a sweater
From the donation center,
I'd wear with pride.
Gift me a piece of cake,
From the soup kitchen,
I'd gladly eat.
Hold my hand,
Which awakens
To your touch.
