It's difficult to define a father precisely
So, let's imagine how a father would be
A father may be figuratively similar to these:
A starting point, a fulcrum, a roof, a piece of land
A mountain, a sky, a star, a beam of sunshine
A lamp, a mirror, a book, a guide,a set of minds,
...
I reckon a father can be similar to each of them
if he is viewed from different perspectives
However, fatherhood will not be fairly defined
If all the pieces above aren't yet combined ?
I dreamt last night of my father.
He played on roller-skates, with
grandchildren, more likely great grandchildren,
yet to be born.
It was a family get together,
perhaps his birthday, or
Father’s Day, coming four days from now.
He wore his famous big smile.
The one that makes everyone smile back.
The children screamed with excitement
and he laughed joyfully with them.
Though older, he was not fragile,
but had the vigor of his youth.
Like in the picture that stares back at me.
Family, friends and coworkers always
spoke highly of him.
Their comments and praise made me
proud to be his son.
I hope that he knew and felt that.
A farm boy from a small town,
not rich or famous, but kind and generous.
He never met a stranger, nor
refuse someone in need.
His work ethic that was matched by few.
I wish I knew the reason / meaning of the dream.
I think about my children, and grandchildren,
wonder how they will think of me?
My hope would be, similar to mine of the man
in the picture, that stares back at me.
Happy Father's Day to you and David
I can't even tell you in words
How I miss you all
I hope everyone in the family is doing great
I guess one great thing about Heaven
I see all of our great family members every day
This Father's Day I just wanted to send
You a card to tell you everything is great here
I have to say in Heaven I get to see
How much Mikey and Abby are growing up so fast
Please don't cry dad,
I love you so much
God always tells me to keep an eye on you guys
When you find a ladybug in the house
You will always know it's me
When you hear those strange noises upstairs
You will know I'm here checking out my old bedroom
So Dad tell everyone, I will be with you guys always
Well I have to go now,we are having lunch with
Roy, Rita, Dolores, Daniel, Uncle Mike, George and Aunt Connie
It's kind of an Olympic restaurant up here
So for now Happy Father's Day
Love you always
BING DANG
Wedding gift to me from my grandpa,
was antique with an obvious flaw,
a three legged table made of oak,
made for him special and was bespoke.
It was designed to be by fireside,
was eight inches by eight inches wide,
just about two and a half feet high,
to keep him in winter warm and dry.
polished in dark varnish to high gloss,
etched in ivory he did emboss,
the names from our whole family tree…
somewhere on one of the legs was me.
Said to me as only grandpa’s do,
with tears on smiles, his face split in two,
leave you this to remember me by,
not let past love and memory die.
with pride we placed it by our fireside,
wife and I would spend time sat beside,
that three legged piece of grand old oak,
warmth of generations would evoke.

Sunk comfortably aloof in his mauve reading chair
Dad's evening reverie; pipe, cheese, crackers and book
His world vanished in smoke swirling into the air
For his family; an occasional vacant look
Yet he'd take time to spin me a bedtime story
Of enchanted lands and daring schemes
Flights of fancy depicting heroic glory
Betraying his real life's unmet dreams
My dad's inner home, the one he preferred
Was far from our world's cruel, petty strife
His family and solace was the written word
Though he was good to his kids and true to his wife
This world was too much with him somehow
A scathingly mean-spirited bother
But I just remember his soft kindness now
Blessed to have had such a father
Wishing all fathers a Happy Fathers Day. Included are Fathers that for some
reason or another your Son or Daughter on this Special Day failed to call you and Wish you A Happy Fathers Day, from the bottom of my heart I know your pain. So for those that are feeling down because you were neglected today, don't lose hope. Know that if you felt hurt, it is because you are a loving Father, and you love your child. God heal your hearts... and may the Lord give you comfort, on this Special day Honoring You...

Eddie, could not have had a father better than you.
Think of all the places you took him, including to the zoo.
It’s mind blowing for me, to just count the hours,
That you spend at baseball,(I am glad for you.when it showers!)
You’re teaching him the Christian life that many Fathers, sadly do not.
And, thus I chose this picture to show the love you and Eddie have got.
Your love of baseball and teaching him I think he’s really quite hot!
So I am just popping in to say, Butch, that you have a very happy Father’s Day.
And I just know that everything is coming with many blessings..your way!

I wanted to pass on something
From my childhood memories
But all that I had left
Was sad feelings and broken dreams
Everything that I loved
Was destroyed or tossed away
Burned bridges and toys
Scorched emotions and betrayal
So, what do I have to give you?
What legacy do I pass on today?
How to be a better man?
When I'm still learning this with age?
I hope that you will feel
That you are truly loved and understood
That you'll be inspired and uplifted
By everything I say and do
For having hopes and dreams
Feeling loved and cared about
Having a place to call home
Is precious without a doubt
May you look back with joy
Feelings of warmth and happiness
May you know that you are valued
For being your own true self

Alone in this world
Alone in this society
Alone in love
Alone in life
Alone in fatherhood
Alone in my time of need
Nobody to help me
Nobody to care about what I need
Nobody to care about my feelings
I keep going for me
I keep pushing forward for me
Nobody to turn to
Nobody to call
Silence isn't always a virtue
Solitude has a maximum capacity
The most alone a person can be
"The silence is deafening"
A person must learn to be ok with being alone in life
We all go through the darkness alone at one time or another
Be your own light!
Stand tall and don't stop!
At six months old dada were the first words
to ever leave my mouth
His name in Hebrew is "son of my right hand"
He is the Boaz to my mother
and the Abraham to my sister and I
He sacrificed his need for higher education
and passed on the torch to me instead
He is both a phenomenal writer
and nature enthusiast just as I am
He missed an opportunity for my mother
to bear him a son from the seed of her womb
but I am positive that if I would bare a male child
He will form an indestructible bond
and cherish him as the son he never had
My father could've been deceased or disowned me
like those of many of my friends and acquaintances
but today he is alive with his soul
filled with health and joy
and always remain faithful to his family
like the lion of his jungle
Although his own father is resting at the gates of heaven
he will always have us
and his spiritual Father on the throne
watching over him day in and day out
One
There was only one,
worm in the can.
He was all alone
but knew his fate
was sealed.
Born and bred to catch fish.
Alive for a reason,
and a purpose.
Fate, to dance at the end of a line,
and end his time
on this earth.
How?
As breakfast, lunch,
or even dinner.
Sadly too small for any
of the above,
more than likely just
a snack.
Fate is fickle
the man drops the can.
The worm has been given
a reprieve.
Wiggle and giggle,
he moves toward freedom,
and a chance
at living another day.
The fisherman cheated
out of his catch,
by an accident.
The worm,
happy to have been
given one final opportunity,
out of a thousand...
and joyous at his success
in the end.
MY FATHER II
Free Verse
My Father is a man who cares for his son
Gives toys and hugs so warm
A Man I could rely on
A Man from heaven, he came from
There is an angel God has sent
To preach His Words of wisdom
There is a God-sent angel from above
Who lives with me in my house,
THAT'S MY DAD.
!!!!! Happy Fathers' Day Dad!!!!!.
Our Father in Heaven
Happy Father’s Day!
To you we Pray
And this is what we Say
All your actions towards us are filled with Grace
As we trace the different dimensions of our lives
We see the Beauty of your Fatherhood!
God the Father you are Holy
No One compares to you!
Besides being the Creator of Life
You are a Father!
Because of your Son, Jesus Christ
We were adopted in your family!
Besides being all Powerful
You are a Father looking
After your sons and daughters!
You are a Present Father
And you know our hearts
You came down and should us your heart
Through your Son!
You are a Father and you are
Patient and above all you are LOVE us
And you forgive our sins!
You are our Father and
We wish you Happy Father’s Day

The son of my father, indeed I am
To fondly unforget, one never can
And please don't think he was just an old man
That sadly lived and died without a plan
Most often at the breaking of each day
He sought to know what God would say
I wake to find him on his knees to pray
That I might be like him and faithful stay
The words he spoke are truth I can recall
As vividly as untimely leaves fall
When all I see are trees left standing tall
That I could read the writings on the wall
He worked so hard each day his hands would ache
And yet kept on for his family's sake
But for his child, he'd always take a break
To spend some time for happy memries make
And now he's gone, I am feeling sad
I wish to see and talk with him so bad
The cares of life is driving me mad
Yet still I thank my God I had a dad
In days gone by, I wish they never end
In my distress, his wisdom he would lend
He cared enough to help my faults to mend
And always there from all my foes defend
My God is good to give such perfect blend
I'm blessed to have a father for a friend.
