fate fractures
family fades
footsteps falter
forsaken
fragile
fearful
yet faith fuels
fortifies
frees
fallen, faithful, forward
to
my
tailor-made
and
dearest friend
that
we
are
both bookends
always
faithful
and
inseparable
until
the
very end
Gunner
What has woken you, Gunner? What is it you hear?
Can you sense the beat of heavy engines drawing near?
There’s been no alert, Gunner, the lads are all at ease.
But you know something’s up, don’t you? Won’t you tell us please?
I heard that little growl, Gunner, low and in your chest.
Is the time right now, Gunner? Should we end our rest?
You’re straining at the sky now Gunner. What is it you see?
A skein of passing geese, or our dreaded enemy?
I see your hackles raised Gunner, it’s time to ring the bell.
The other guns will follow suit, they trust your instincts well.
The crews are all closed up, Gunner, before the siren’s wail,
We all know you were right from the twitching of your tail.
There they are above, Gunner, just like your growl predicted,
And thanks to you, we’ve limited the damage they’ve inflicted.
The enemy has fled, Gunner, they’ve turned around and run.
Now go and get your well-earned rest, underneath our gun.
That heaven and earth should pass away
God saves the faithful in His time
Jesus is coming again some day
Everywhere you look there's a sign
The angels are singing in harmony
The saints are you and I
Jesus my sweet Jesus
You are the center of my life
For Aunt Carolyn, in memory of Uncle Dennis
They were just teens outside a gift shop door,
He said, "Come on, Darling, let’s go explore."
With a wink and a grin, and her hand in his,
They stepped into life, not knowing how rare love like this is.
From navy bases to state lines they flew,
Boxes unpacked and smiles that grew.
Never a house—always a home,
Because love made each place their own.
He’d kiss her forehead, she'd fix his tie,
Even their bickering made cupids sigh.
Like teenagers dancing in a kitchen floor war,
Even their "fights" left you loving them more.
They held hands through hospital halls,
Through birthday cake crumbs and late-night calls.
And even when life was painfully tough,
They reminded us all—true love is enough.
Now she stands where he once stood near,
A bit more quiet, but holding him dear.
Because the thing about love that’s truly true—
Is it doesn’t end. It just waits for you.
So Aunt Carolyn, brave heart, please know this is true:
He’s just ahead now, saving a seat for you.
Still saying with that boyish grin so clever:
"Come on, Darling... let’s do forever."
The smell of the ocean
The glitter of the sun
Oh, it is time for some fun
You can see beach umbrellas anywhere
And find sand everywhere
And you can feel the nice cool air
But don't get me started on the seagulls
Those seagulls can be an earful
But think about the sunrise
While eating beautiful pies
With the lovely flies
Hearing the ocean cries
Oh, how delightful
And oh, so beautiful
The faithful ocean is so wonderful
There will never be
A story told
That does not measure
Hope so old
As in this tree
With shading bow
As here I sit
In writing now
For in this ancient
Solid form
That buries deep
Under the norm
Of human treadmill
Feet that scurry
A wisdom lies
Below the flurry
Such gnarly skin
Yet seasoned clothes
A message tall
This tree bestows
For those with eyes
For those with ears
A whisper to dispel
Your fears
Carbon capture
Monolith
Prompts perfect style
For kin and kith
We learn our futures
Can be bright
If trust, we do
With such insight
Roots in earth
Yet highest height
Entwined in life
As nature’s rite
So let us grow
Persistently
Protecting, loving
A human tree
From the inside of music I looked out far
The sky was cloudy, preparing for rain
Sir Rattle on the Mezzo played Sir Elgar
The air fumed sour like the dead champagne
I went for the memories, to see your face
In times when the sky was bright blue
But wherever I turned to, was just empty space
And the most annoying, not a sign of you
But why did you worry about me over time
So desperately strong - I much preferred
To come in the evening, to share some wine
Animated by your smile and kind word
Wouldn't you come, to forget me again?
Send me a note, if you thought to remember
Your teddy, who waits in the sounds of rain
Through the music they care to render.

Witness the wonders, amazing what God does for us.
Look at the grace and the mercy, the depths of His love.
As high as the stars in the sky and as deep as the sea.
The love that our Lord has for us lasts for eternity!
A Shepherd Who searches relentlessly for the lost one.
A Father who patiently waits the return of His son.
The end of His love and His mercy can never be found.
So sing out with all of creation! Let praises resound.
A powerful King Who will reign in profound majesty.
Forever He was, He is now and He always will be.
Creator of all, both in heaven and down here on earth.
He knew everyone and He loved us from long before birth.
Listen, O children and heed Him whenever He calls.
He is our strength and our shield, He lifts us when we fall.
Follow His every command, try to walk in His ways
And we will know mercy and love ‘til the end of our days.
Faithful forever!
Our Lord is faithful forever!
So praise Him!
I've never seen an angel.
I seldom hear your voice.
But I know you sent Jesus
to offer us all a choice.
I know I've felt your glory.
I've felt your mercy and peace.
I know you're writing a story
about how much you love me.
I've never seen an angel.
I don't have to to know you're real,
because I can feel you beside me
taking away my fear,
giving me peace,
showering me
with your mercy and grace.
And when one day
I see you face-to-face,
I hope you'll say
that I ran my race
to the fullest.
"Well done,
good and faithful servant."

Father in Heaven
thank you for your faithfulness
you are faithful in all your ways
you stay by our side for always
In life people change
But your faithfulness will always remain
Our God of peace and comfort
Faithful one
Our Savior and friend. Amen
Thessalonians 5:24
New International Version
The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. Amen
I’ve seen your goodness
Searching for an answer
I’ve seen your blessings
Not on my own
With you beside me
You go before me
Never leaving
Always faithful
Always faithful
He is the faithful
I surrender
To your calling
Keep you lifted up
When I’m praying
These psalms for you
And all your glory
Holy Spirit ever filling
Never leaving
Always faithful
Always faithful
Always trust in you
Forever faithful
I pray to the Father
In Jesus’ name
There are no others
That’s why I came
You comfort my soul
Never leaving
Always faithful
Always faithful
I really like you
Love you too

The word is prophesy.
Prophesy is reliable and the way to the Lord.
Phil 1:23-27 “I will know your affairs”
Tiny pink flower, so alone,
In verdant fields, how you've grown.
No hands to nourish, none to tend,
We all long for one faithful friend.
Just a single cloud in the sky,
Waiting for a mate to float by.
Grey rain gathered by sighing wind,
We all long for one faithful friend.
Brown pup struggles to thrive, to live,
All others lost, has love to give,
Must find that One's torn heart to mend.
We all long for one faithful friend.
She sat, lonely, while crowds rushed through.
Young hearts break so easily too.
Cold, wet nose, she looked down, grinned!
We all long for one faithful friend!
Writers love their letters,
letters turn into words.
Words turn into sentences,
waiting to be read.
Poems come from writing,
writing about the past.
Maybe from the present,
maybe true or false.
As a faithful reader,
we laugh we cry.
Many love to read,
yet again and again.
The reader and writer,
then become as one.
Both in love with,
letters-words-sentences-reading.
