(NOTHING COMPARES 2 U - PRINCE SONG)

1) Time has stopped still
I've lost my will
To feel alive
Life can go on
But there's no dawn
No, there's no jive

Chorus:
You were my inspiration
My heartbeat's sole fixation
Now life has lost all appeal
I sing but with no more zeal
For there is no one like you
I have found no one like you
None like you. ..

2) No more cute dates
My heart still waits
To be with you
There is no fun
Under the sun
I still feel blue

3) I've lost my smile
It's been awhile
Since I laughed loud
You are not here
You are not near
Sorrows enshroud

Bridge:
Even the roses that you planted
Have all withered, they were enchanted
Now I am left with a broken heart
Won't you let us have another start?
For there is no one like you
I have found no one like you
None like you...

Chorus:
You were my inspiration
My heartbeat's sole fixation
Now life has lost all appeal
I sing but with no more zeal
For there is no one like you
I have found no one like you
None like you...

Stormy Days

You, strong sun that soars, crumbles down tonight,
A stormy day arrives at your bright face,
The sunny rays are nowhere in my sight,
A gust of silent air consumes the space.

No light shines in this room. Forever drain,
The world cools when the sun is blocked by guise,
Your clouds cry and pour and enshroud with rain,
I will continue life drenched in your cries.

I'll never run away when you're in tears,
My orbit will revolve for you, my sun,
Your presence still remains in all the fears,
My light, you will forever be the one.

I'll wait till time can tell when you might shine,
You’re still the sun when you are not divine.

Premium Member The Fold Lifts - He's There in the Mist

The fold lifts - he's there in the mist
   And the world tumbles aside.
We come together and meet lips
As Night's stars fill our eyes.

It's a world of two - two in the world.
The rush - the fire of his touch
Enshroud us as a cocoon would
   And it's everything we want.

The fold suddenly lifts again -
A secret knowledge now in its stead.
I face the garish morning sun
With a smile - though twisted.

What Comes Of Dreams

Oh, why so many dreams bestowed
in young and tender years,
fall into drifting dust decay
then sadly disappear.

Are dreams to blame for broken hearts
and quiet hour’s remorse?
Or is the dreamer born of guilt
for veering from its course?

Are dreams unfair for rising up
to skies in brilliant hue?
Perhaps they take no time for thought
and ask too much to do.

But would a dream be such a thing
if every hand could reach?
What treasure would it bring to bare?
What lesson would it teach?

Oh, grant I pray that I should never
stand amongst the crowd,
and watch with idle faithless feet
while mundane cares enshroud.

No, I will dare to dream above
midst Heaven’s brilliant streams,
and quiet vigil watch and keep
til come… what comes of dreams.

Endarkenment

Enshroud  yourself in darkness, black out all the light, and enclose the darkness within.
Silence the mind, silence all the sounds that surround.
Sit in the silence and darkness, embracing the endarkenment of oneself.
Be in silence and darkness
Be at peace with the silence and darkness
Find your inner light within that silence and darkness
Focus on that inner light
In the darkness resides silence and, in the silence, resides darkness, a quiet from the noise, a break from all the brightness
A place to come to, a place to sit in, be in for inside is your inner light, inside is a tranquility

Keats Was Right

Poet’s see beyond the cosmos
that’s why they’re revered
Poet’s leave the final time zone
past and future cleared
Poet’s bow to one volition
high above the clouds
Poet’s live in love’s reflection
— beauty to enshroud

Dear mask of alabaster,
Is writ a song, disaster?
I walk about the place,
Where I face,
Whatever happens after;
Arrive, my compass guide,
As a star to Northern sky:
Be sunrise, or twilight,
Let God's palm,
Keep calming mine;
Grave, enshroud me,
Rock of earth,
Should I carry,
No more worth –

Premium Member Both Sides Now

I was a young 15 year old boy
when Joni Mitchell wrote and Judy Collins sang ‘Both Sides Now’.
Their song has enjoyed a long and illustrious ride…
Now, as a 70 year old man, I realize…I have looked at life from both sides.

I’ve looked at life through the eyes of a child
surrounded by music and art….
a life where everything was new, and wondrous and beautiful…
where I saw only with my heart.

I’ve looked at life through the eyes of a man
no longer that chid…pure, and innocent and carefree….
where sometimes clouds would block my vision
and make it difficult for my heart to see

I have looked at life from both sides now
with innocent eyes and when clouds enshroud my heart
and I have learned just beyond the clouds…
life is filled with wonder…and beauty..and art.

Which, now that I am older, leads me to behold:
If our heart sees that beauty when we’re innocent and young
and again despite the clouds when are more experienced and old.

Think of the beauty we could create…
a life filled with wonder and beauty and art…
If we could only see beyond the clouds…
between our younger and older heart.

Dark clouds,
often enshroud any thoughts
I might direct toward tomorrow.

I’ve always been an achiever,
but have shaken hands with defeat.
Now my aspirations have been devoured by time.

I could always do it all
until suddenly I can do little.

My past is an unforgiving file,
Which leaves me only those brief moments,
Called now.

Forgive me LORD when I Whine,
Forgive me LORD when I whine.

Premium Member Splurge On That Urge

Sometimes I have this urge
The urge to cry aloud
I do not let it purge
I fight that big, black cloud

That tempestuous surge
Does totally enshroud
Till I am on the verge
Of being, by tears, cowed

I let myself submerge
In emotions that shroud
In time, I will emerge
Stronger than any crowd

Premium Member Wave of Fantasy

To dream or not to dream this query I will leave unanswered
for just as the winds cannot stop blowing and the flowers
cannot stop growing,
I too cannot wave my fantasies goodbye.

I will not leave behind
my illusions, nor my castle in the sky
I am a poet with so much golden yarn,
and miles and miles of forever tales,
at the tip of my golden quill.
My spindle never rests.

To dream or not to dream this is a query
I siphoned for you.
What will you weave for me today?
What will your wave of fantasy, enshroud?
I can't wait to read you, my lovely poets,
make me proud !!!!

Winter

Black cloud enshroud blue horizon while migrating birds tweet their last goodbye

Arctic winds weigh down bare naked branches watching blinding storms streak by

Above forsaken lodge tower sequoias like sentinels safeguarding an empty citadel

Hungry bison scrapes damp earth for green grass then uncovers a nourishing well

Immaculate summits shed kaleidoscopic colors pondering the splendor of next fall

Snowflake encrusted serpentine rivers inside the path of an imminent frigid squall

Taking agile steps shivering wolves defend lives at stake to outfox predacious gun

Aging leaves tumble toward battered ground envying the sky waiting for the sun

Life

The concept of emptiness
The vanity of vanity
What is enjoyment in you
The opaque that walks in the night
Like a strange soul upon the stygian bank
Wallowing in the pool of abomination
Dribs and drabs man is dashing away
Like smoke in the air
No one can stop the dregs of you
Life, the femme fatale
You enchant and en masse all
You ensnare the brilliant against the dull
You excel as light excels darkness
You ensconce nature with your charm
You enshroud the fact of nature
Your threnody is ambiguous
Now the sacred hope is stained
Man triumph another woe
Who will preach the woe that beside man
Taboo is an icon commemorating
Arrive, white aliens and save our soil

One Step From Perdition

That day on the ledge
he started to shake
Each memory a tremor
of every mistake

The choices made suspect
as nightmares returned
The price of redemption
his destiny spurned

Alone and forgotten
his eyes straight ahead
Afraid to look down
where his hopelessness led

Each breath getting shorter
his heart beating loud
One step from perdition
one step to enshroud

But then in an instant
a voice could be heard
Not friendly or caustic
but rooted and learned

“Well jump if you have to
defeat as your crown
Your sins to fall with you
—forgiveness unfound”
