Empathizing
Miracle Man
5/4/2024

We can’t feel some other’s pain but we can empathize,
we search our heart’s for comforting words to verbalize.
Pain we can’t feel,
To them, is so real,
their need is words of comfort, not someone to advise.

The primal word I spoke at life's start,
Not golden arches, but love's universal art.
'Ma' echoes in cultures diverse,
Symbolizing eternal motherhood, a cosmic verse.

In her embrace, warmth I'd find,
Crying, my sole skill, in infancy confined.
Rocking motions, lulling me to rest,
Cries for heavenly attention, a baby's quest.

Bad or good, day's play or lessons sought,
In her eyes, the best boy I was thought.
Discipline met with the utmost grace,
Crafting a future, a bright, destined space.

Stupid actions met with her concern,
Anger transformed, in sermons, I'd discern.
Rage one moment, forgiveness next,
Guidance and wisdom, her lifelong text.

Pain of daily setbacks mirrored in her eyes,
Tears reflecting my life's lows and highs.
Sympathy as balm for wounds unseen,
Comforting, empathizing, a mother's serene sheen.

For unselfish love, a constant well,
Tenderness and goodness in heart's swell.
An endless stream of care, a smile so bright,
In dreams, she lingers, a beacon of light.

Night

We see the sunlight fleeting,
long shadows creeping in,
dark paths the wolves are beating,
we feel we cannot win.
The predators are feasting
in darkness everywhere,
those let alive retreating,
gloom casts a hard despair.
The sounds are horrifying.
we try to look away,
all laws of men defying,
they slay their helpless prey.
No amount of decrying
will change the wolf-kin’s mind,
no hugs or empathizing,
will ever make them kind.

But the darkness is fleeting,
the dawn sets them to fear,
fast away night is bleeding,
rays of the sun appear.
and now the wolves are fearing,
poor sheep they’ve slain are seen,
sheep-dogs are now appearing,
their appetites are keen.
Bold hunters are advancing,
with guns that smoke and burn,
the predators are fleeing,
the sun always returns.

Premium Member Finally, Utopia

When purity and love dance
peace and joy shine bright
empathizing with a glance
to heal the heart with insight

waves of desire wash across
a life filled with shadows of rudeness
thinking of the heavy loss
felt by one who flounders in lewdness

naked minds feel the grief
brought on by tainted fears
apathy felt without any relief
angst growing amongst bitter tears

we hope to discover the utopia
written across the heart’s face
within one who has lived in dystopia
finally recognizing God’s saving grace

The Frigid Month of February

Winter, at its worst, cold and dreary.
When whipped-up brisk winds quake the wary,
With falling temperatures and snow:
Freezing exposed skin, fingers, and toes.

In a blitz of polar-felt weather
That stymies the ardent traveller;
People shudder forward in the chill,
Trekking along like penguins uphill.

Seasonal temperaments dissipate
In mutual bonds which people partake;
With each empathizing with each other,
When outside challenging the weather.

Winter, at its worst, cold and dreary,
In the frigid month of February.

Victory of Humankind

THE VICTORY OF HUMANKIND!

Heights great achieved progress abound,
To the skies’ stretch, to the oceans’ depth;
Not a speck undiscovered, conquered all
Of the unending expansive cosmos vast!

Shivering quivering beings all,
At the mere mention of a creature small;
Reveled in pride at the terror instilled,
Convulsed the peaceful tranquil harmony!

Resentment annoyance displeasure around,
Tolerance compassion long bygone;
Triumphant victorious yet vanquished by thy own kind,
Is this the success coveted by man!

No quashing nor suppressing earthlings all,
But endearing tender affectionate love;
Empathizing sympathizing, establishing compassionate bond,
Leading thus to The Victory Of Humankind!

While Wondering Which Woman

While wondering which
Woman would want weird witches,
We were wondering.

What Is Poetry: Acrostic

Acrostic: What is P O E T R Y?

P=Pro-People. Poetry begins with ‘p’ & ends in ‘why.’ My dark poems always seem to have a ‘P’OSITVE end, or hope. Do U see?

O=Overcome! Overcome opposition & “others” with Optimism. Use “other” words for the “Other” (see Respect)

E=Empathy. Extend Empathy, whatever your own Experiences. Emotion is not poetry, but with Empathy, yes!

T=Truth. A timeless element. Is there something more than yourself in the writing? While we differ about 'truth', a Cosmic Clockmaker is behind Timeless Poetry

R=Respect. We have sung songs about RESPECT. Respect all in your writing; if necessary disagree 'R'espectfully. This is the big challenge in poetry

Y=Yield. Yield to Y. Yield to questions. Could you yield to "others"? We discover uses & abuses of poetry every day, but good poetry is pro-people.

Finally, an Acrostic for POETRY also says: People Overcoming and Empathizing (with the “other”) & with Truth & Respect, thus YIELDING to more poetry & people (“other” poems & people). POETRY can bring us closer as One species.

                        destroying, demeaning, devastating
                              body, mind, dreams, desires
                           forgiving, nurturing, empathizing
                                         genuine, pure

Cacophony #1

Streaming glitter
Suspended laughter
Delayed happiness
Evident abasement
Surmounting fears
Shadows dance in torment

Pleasant gestures
Pretence abundant
Deferred bliss
Creeping obscurity
Empathizing stares
Lured smiles led to drown

Malevolent touch
Masked intentions
Insubordinate emotions
Disappearing identity
Longing spirit
Laughter is beheaded

Joyful wickedness
Jeweled thorns
Loving stabs
Poisoned kisses
Unassuming mortal
Beauty lays dead

Lost Dark Beauty.

She so delicate of visage
Veiled in obscurity
Intangible appearances
Faceted in flowing black mists

Eyes buffering the vagueness lit
Piercing through shadow
Contained within
Turbulent metaphors of dusk

Tempting destiny uncontrolled
Splashing hot crimson
Upon the life sparked cinders
Empathizing too late
