God is Writing Your Life Story

no more confusion
you've come to a conclusion
to give God the pen
to let Him determine what'll be your end

exalt Him edify Him
give God the glory
as He continues
to write your life story

let His righteousness correct
address your issues and redirect
you on the path to now receive
all that He wants you to achieve

exalt Him edify Him
give God the glory
as He continues
to write your life story

you'll never envision all God can do
It's more then you'll ever conceive
the Author and Finisher of your faith
only requires that you believe

stop grabbing the pen
as this ain't no autobiography
God is writing your life story
and only He knows
what the ending will be

exalt Him edify Him
give God the glory
as He continues
to write your life story

let God correct
let God redirect

let Him determine the narrative
of each chapter
let God conclude what'll be
your happily ever after

exalt Him edify Him
give God the glory
as He continues
to write your life story

exalt Him edify Him
give God the glory
as He continues
to write your life story

Godlike

With all the Gods who've been and gone
religiously believed in and prayed upon
for sure Thor was but one
but who'll be the next to come along
will we sing praises to him it or her
faithfully erect an edifice to edify
incense burn sacrifice virgins
bow down on our knees to deify
will fire and brimstone or flagellation
appear in the equation
with the promise of heaven
and/or eternal damnation
and aping man's superstition
followers will still flounder around
looking for what they know not
along with the herd awaiting 'The Word'

Premium Member To Know The Truth

Does life to anyone really make sense?
Or is all of mankind, really this dense?
God offers his wisdom and truth to man,
Yet it still seems we seldom understand.

Are we blinded by reason, and logic?
Surely, it’s not genes or biologic?
While meditating on things I don’t know,
It came to me; the culprit is ego.

Its goal is to always self-edify,
Secretly cloaking what’s seen with the eye.
The illusion creates a false belief,
The deception ends up, leading to grief.

To receive God’s truth, just look through his eyes,
To know the truth, just reject ego’s lies.

Love Without Equal

You have no equal. (1)
You have no rival. (1)
For God so loved.
He is lifted above.

Don’t let the moment pass.
Bring all you have.
Lay it down at His feet.
Your needs He will meet.

His anointing is sufficiency.
Step into His glory.
Edify brothers and sisters.
Obedience of the master.

For God we thirst.
In God we trust.
With God we love.
Through God we live.

We are saved by grace.
Fear has no place.
Taste the heavenly gift. (2)
Taste the good word of God. (2)

Rejoice in His love.
That love from above.
Sent by the perfect dove.
My soul is where it grows.

Love is seed I hold.
My soil is in the fold.
He is the gate.
I am His lamb.

Let Him hear me sing.
Praises to the king.
A new song and a new thing.
I thank you, Father.

COMMUNITY CONVERSATION

Some say crucify him
Many said enslave him
Others said neglect him
Few said let's hear from him
They never wanna listen to his messages.

Some say let's rectify him
Many said let's edify him
Others said let's glorify him
Few said no let's nail him
Now some can relate
But they don't want his rule.

He's always prepare
Ready to fight for his right
Defending his personality
He's so fearless and furious
Fiercely facing any opposition.

Kyrielle in Times of Trouble

Sovreign Lord, my most gracious King,
He whom created everything.
Save my life, make all darkness flee,
Holy Spirit, Lord, set my heart free.

My Saviour, friend, oh Prince of Peace,
make fear fade, anxiety cease.
Remove my chains, Lord rescue me,
Holy Spirit, Lord, set my heart free.

Both Son of Man, and Son of God,
mark my road, be my staff, my rod.
Be my strength, in both sorrow, glee,
Holy Spirit, Lord, set my heart free.

Oh Spirit, Lord, resting in me,
Fill my soul up, let all else flee.
In my weakness, edify me,
Holy Spirit, Lord, set my heart free.

Love Regardless

He didn't want me perfect, He doesn't expect,
He didn't say come to me when you're eventually at your best,
He saw all my imperfections, He accepted my flaws,
He said I'm here for you always scars and all,
The dream was so vivid as I rushed around,
My hair in a messy bun as I was cleaning the house,
He wrapped his arms around me from behind,
He said stop, I love you messy, I want you to be mine,
I woke up, and tried to understand,
why I was dreaming about this man,
And as I sat in prayer, God explained,
In a relationship with this man, you are one in the same,
So when you come together, you edify one another,
The love I place within you both builds and heals each other,
I stand in the middle, and this is also about me,
Because I love you regardless, can't you see?,

Premium Member One Late Summer Morn

Sunrise on Swift Creek starts a new day
The sun is etching magenta 'pon a misty sky
And fog settling low 'pon the ground will stay
Changing in the sky a red giant ball shows its dye
I wonder if old saying will come true and I sigh

Mankind hasn't made much of an arising yet
Down where lilacs once bloomed in years gone by
But doves awaken from slumber still sing my pet
They cajole weary whip-poor-will where sun and earth edify
To settle in the brush and quietly lie

Down where fuchsia crepe myrtle blooms are open
Enjoying the heat of end of a summer's day
There's beauty against even the coyotes' den
As turmoil goes on, guitar music stops, places decay
Dear Lord, let me praise You, and constantly pray

Premium Member A Friend To Poets

A dedicated and loyal soul
Kind, finding time to edify, seek
Those kindred hearts who fan the hot coals
Into the flames of poetry which leak
Like embers, wild sparks from pen and ink

Standing for truth, for justice invests
In other poets to bring happiness
Above all faithful, candid and fair
Humbly shares his talent possessed
Always taking time to show that he cares

Premium Member More Fool Me!

In my youth's frolic at King Lear and Pi
all my days were a Shakespearean tale.
Not algebra, not prose did edify
yet test and limits we pass lest we fail.
To learn and open closed minds to ideas
but I learnt before a fall comes a pride
with a conspiracy one alone bears
yet co-conspirators had much to hide.
For each lame alibi concealed misdeed,
each mad ruse and jape blotted my ledger
but we all do a true life lesson heed
when worn is a cowl or crown to measure.
Comic is the court and jester in school
but better a wise king than a wise fool.

Sisters

My best friend
And worst enemy
Just leave me alone
Always there for me
I steal her clothes
We share everything
She buys me things
That she needs

Envious again
Competing beauty
They say we look like twins
She's prettier than me

Too long without a visit
Moved in right next door
Came 800 miles
Just To be ignored

Her option of me
Matters more than most
Too my face, critical
Behind my back, boasts

Support and edify
Build up and inspire
Ensuring she understands
Her help is not required

Curse when near
Cry when away
The only one to trust
To keeps secrets safe

But I'm the only one
Allowed to criticize
Don't mess with my sister
Don't even try

Testimony

Faith that has power
Epistles that edify
Mouth that testify.

Premium Member A Poor, Wayfaring Man of Grief, Part Two

A poor, wayfaring man of grief,
May struggle as it seems,
To walk the road of disbelief,
And snuggle with his dreams.

Although alone and feeling low,
He does his very best,
To edify the ones who know,
The meaning of his quest.

Although he soars above the crowd,
To catch the morning sun,
He hides behind the glory cloud,
Until his day is done.

He cannot see how love survives,
Without a single soul,
And so he strives to make our lives,
A diamond in the coal.

His story is the glory,
Of the Father and the Son,
Our role is mandatory,
For the battle to be won.

He may not shine this image,
By the lineage of his tree,
And yet, the line of scrimmage,
Is the courage people see.

He may not race to set the pace,
Of those who plant the sod,
And yet, his place deserves the space,
That tribulation trod.

A poor, wayfaring man of grief,
Is not so bad to me,
He celebrates a pure belief,
In love and honesty.

He radiates the rainbow,
In the afterglow above,
The steady flow of those who know,
The colors of his love.

The story of his sadness,
Is the madness we embrace,
The glory of his gladness,
Is the human in our race.

Premium Member Permanence

This proposition we call life
is tenuous at best;
reach out, grab firm those things most dear
and jettison the rest.

For what will bring a man acclaim
and lift him to the heights?
The tease of accolades and fame’s
cruel escalating sights?

Or shall he build tall monuments
which edify his name?
The halls ring hollow when he's gone;
mere empty shells remain.

Perhaps great fortunes, once amassed
are where he'll leave his mark,
yet who will count his stacks of gold
when everything goes dark?

Or shall his job consume his soul,
vocation gone berserk?
As life yet slowly slips away,
none wish they'd done more work.

Or lofty words and turns of phrase
rolled sweetly off the tongue,
but who will breathe new life in them
when no air fills the lungs?

Perhaps a hint, a sweet foretaste:
at table, gathered there.
A joyful throng, yet some are missed:
a poignant, empty chair.

Yes, all fall short and surely fail;
no permanence, mere whim.
Nay, this is it: to know thy God
and to be known by Him.
