Notes About The Poem
This was initially going to be my entry for Tom's contest, My Special Poet. Because I'm kind of a newbie myself, I didn't really have a new poet to write about and bring to the spot light. I wanted to support the contest because it is a worthy idea, the intention is so kind. So I wrote about the poet who had always been kind and attentive, helpful and friendly etc etc as the poem states!
I wrote about Tom! But I didn't want to reveal that until after the judging, in case it placed, I wanted him to be able to claim impartiality and fairness. Anyway...I removed the poem from the contest to avoid any issues like that since it's a requirement to name your poet. So now I am happy just to dedicate this to Tom and no need for contest or awards etc!! Thanks again Tom, for everything!! Xo
A Friend To Poets
A dedicated and loyal soul
Kind, finding time to edify, seek
Those kindred hearts who fan the hot coals
Into the flames of poetry which leak
Like embers, wild sparks from pen and ink
Standing for truth, for justice invests
In other poets to bring happiness
Above all faithful, candid and fair
Humbly shares his talent possessed
Always taking time to show that he cares
