Prayer is very personal
Then again, it is universal
for who do we pray to
I think, aware or not
the world eavesdrops
For the spirit voice echoes
even in snowy silence
Make what you think
comforting and shareable
Unwavering love Your One who
always dearly listens --
Observe the busy blue butterfly, using no words, can you not hear her speak?
like flowers, she blossoms, she is beautiful and her bearing is meek.
Kitty eavesdrops as nature translates, like a magnet, their shared joys attract;
butterflies and kittens, are soul mates; just by being, their lives interact.
Kittens' antics express delight and freedom; butterflies inspire without contact.
Lessons learned from these jewels, might we poets freely live with such impact?
Drawing wisdom from nature's critters who have a Creator they can trust;
might we too seek His inspiration? Humbly recalling He made us from dust
She sits on the park bench
a flock of pigeons carrying her memories away.
An unleashed dog sat with her a while
Left to chase a squirrel
The well-dressed pass her by
As if she wasn’t there.
A child in a carriage
Gives her a “queenly” wave,
She listens,
Eavesdrops
As Fall whispers
Scattered secrets
To fallen leaves.
She sits, alone but not lonely
For she knows who she is
Rejoices in what was
Awaits
What is to come.
I listen to my neighbors toilet flush,
it takes a long time for the sound
to drain away and refill,
I settle deeper between my ears
cognizant of the cadence
of its slow rise and fall.
The trash compactor chews on
for a grinding stretch after I switch it off.
Uncomfortably heated body-bellows voice out
as a hurried meal speaks on.
This is not silence
minor notes trundle and tumble,
heightened by being weighted
to a lower registry.
Sonic trickles detonate into auricular
spouting’s.
The distances between
unremarkable moments
eavesdrops,
listening to its own earthly poetry.
Unique
Like dogs
Totem
Of owl
Sees through the veil of psychic darkness
And eavesdrops upon the silent moon
A young girl eavesdrops
On her parents one day
And found out that
They were the head
Of the mafia and plans
To have her killed
Dispose of her body in
Back of the cemetery
Behind rose hill
So, she runs to
A friend's house
Shaking with fear
Crying and regretting
What she had heard
about her parents
What she didn't know was
That they made the whole thing up
To teach her a lesson
About eavesdropping
Invited, she waits with hands on doorknob,
hears her boyfriend talk inside, she eavesdrops.
She rues not being clever,
for her party is over,
for she knows he is a deceiving snob.

My sweet baby sister (AKA the traitor)
Has radars for ears and the mind of a spy,
She eavesdrops, twists facts, and then tattletales,
And proudly serves mom an elaborate lie.
I sweet talked, I begged, I bribed then I threatened,
Locked her in the bathroom and turned off the light,
I secretly hoped that she would get better:
It got better indeed, not sis, but her spite!
She listened in to the private confession
About the boy crush that I shared with a friend,
She posted it promptly on-line, no discretion
No mercy, no sisterhood! Viral it went!
That sure was the last camel back-breaking straw!
Eavesdropped and Exposed!!!- an egregious offence!
Should be charged, prosecuted and punished by law,
With no chance of parole, appeal or defense!

She walks with her head held up in the clouds,
forgetting that pride comes before a fall.
She is curious and a bad gossiper.
She eavesdrops on other people's conversations,
not bearing in mind that "curiosity killed the..."
Naughty behavior she possesses almost makes majority puke.
Look no further than the steward's place she dwells,
She sips, sips and sips anything within her reach.
She conquers nothing but a foul smell in her mouth.
Look at her!Dragging and meandering her slender body home,
Ouch! The stomach crumbles and she falls down with a thud!
Helter skelterly, she is rushed to the medical center.
Sad faces dominate the place upon her death being pronounced,
Her mother almost dries her tear wells for the loss she has incurred
"oh my daughter, why have you left me?"
Green!
Alive
on tall grass,
blithe, lithe, limber,
swaying long and lean
in their beachy masses.
The deadpan sand eavesdrops as
breezes wave blades like silk banners.
Whispers whir with emerald voices;
long-winded grass gossiping with zephyrs.
Amidst speaking and listening
Blue shirts fly in cool breeze
Calling the pleasure pulsating
Dollops of cream from fridge
Eavesdrops curious time
Finding some dancing lakes
Grey surrounding mankind
Hands sharing pink shakes
Indulgent minds unconscious
Jasmine-rain steps in
King-size gladiolus
Loves lyrical whispering
Moments of life time memory
Not stopping the sunflower words
Of the delightful discovery
Prodding the migratory birds

Observe Pacific blue butterflies,
using no words, yet they can speak.
Oblivious, they pollinize
they're beautiful and their bearing's meek.
Using no words, yet they can speak
Kitty eavesdrops as nature translates.
They're beautiful and their bearing's meek -
butterflies and kittens, you’re soul mates.
Kitty eavesdrops as nature translates.
Like a magnet, sheer joys attract
butterflies and kittens, you’re soul mates,
just by being, your lives have impact.
Like a magnet, sheer joys attract
butterflies inspire beyond their scope.
Just by being, your lives have impact;
might we poets compose with such hope.
Butterflies inspire beyond their scope,
oblivious, they pollinize.
Might we poets compose with such hope -
observe Pacific blue butterflies.

A mind of plane mirrors reflects rays of goodness.
It is weightless and indeed stainless,
in it right has a huge castle decorated in flowers of deeds,
roofed in kindness and painted in honesty.
Corruption knows it’s a waste of time
when it comes with its convincing lips and encroaching limbs.
Selfishness eavesdrops on all activities
to plan a way and snatch any opportunity.
Then the fall occurs as hands get dirty.
A heavy load is now placed on the inside,
guilt building a desolate and unkempt street
and its lash felt each time its victim’s name is mentioned.
All these run the batteries of conscience,
making wrong have a flamboyant exhibition.
Not to worry, trouble mind!
This is just a cleanable stain on the wall
of which it hasn’t eaten any solid structure yet.
A true confession and an honest repentance,
stimulated by a bitter drive coming intrinsic,
makes everything look new once again,
confirming the nature of being human
but not any flaw from a good conscience.
As Midnight plays his haunting tunes,
The music drifting on the breeze,
The woodland creatures come to hear,
The moon eavesdrops behind the trees.
The magic fills the moonlit woods,
And tiny sprites and fairies dance.
He plays until the break of day,
When Sunrise joins in with her chants.

for Tell his Story
He clears his throat with a loud
"please-see-me" noise
As he eavesdrops on my half
Of a phone call from a boy.
He thinks bad things about me
And my friends who drink and smoke
As if he lived his life alone,
A halo as his cloak.
Our memories are not the same
Of life with him, five kids and her
Just two of us could take his name
The rest of us just called him 'sir.'
I loved him many years ago,
A child was I of his own betrothed
And now they're gone, the ones he loved,
As he rocks in his chair clearing his throat.
