With a Gentle Hand
Ignored wounds
do not bleed at once,
but when touched for cure
they ache longer than they should,
reminding us how silence gathers dust
inside the body.
It is not that love is feared,
only that sometimes
its arrival feels unnecessary
like an extra flame
in a room already warm.
Still, a newborn’s breath
teaches another language of affection,
a fragile trust resting
in the hollow of two palms.
Love

A Masterpiece Written in Dreams
My fingers are already aching,
their muscles weary, spent, and tired.
Sweat soaks through my singlet,
my eyes grow heavy, begging for sleep,
to pay back seventy-two hours denied.
Yet each of my writes lies in his bin,
the sponsor never seems to tire
of casting them there with careless joy.
Perhaps that brings him most delight—
a cross my restless heart must bear.
Would

Ancient Poems
Ancient poems resurrected and recited
From the murky depths of history,
You hold, against your breast,
The fresh warmth you now perceive.
I tell you tales of my youth
Of day and night, dawn and twilight.
Alive still in my beating, aching heart,
And now held in my hands to reveal.
You ask me to start from within myself
As I recite these

Free Fall
Jumping quickly
out
of known security
into
animation, suspended
above
hard reality
in
momentless time.
Gliding smoothly
through
unknown thoughts
past
unlimited dreams
near
unlived fantasy.
Landing finally
midst
broken dreams
of
desired wishes.
Reflecting quickly
upon
what could have been.
Knowing it never was.

Moonlight's Bright Tonight, Part 2
Moonlight’s bright tonight.
Let’s go outside and play
In the streets of the city.
Morning’s far away.
We’ll dance in the streets,
Race under the stars,
Staring into the eyes
Of oncoming cars.
They’ll tell us their wisdom
In archetypical style
Of the roles that we play
And if we survive.
The dogs of the city,
They howl and they fight,
Then fortune they share
For our hungry delight.
When morning

Moonlight's Bright Tonight, Part 1
Moonlight’s bright tonight.
Let’s go outside and play
In the fields of the village.
Morning’s far away.
Still crisp air holds its breath
In silence as we watch
Moonlit shadows creeping west,
Forever out of reach.
We try to chase the shadows
Running through the trees,
Standing tall like rocket ships
Against the lonely seas.
Come along and run with me,
The fields await our gaze.
There lay mysteries

Lost in Dreams
I know, love, what we're here for
We both are destined to forever
Looks like a hackneyed metaphor
But one can try to put it better
Mix the reality with dreams
Like, for example, I can do
Not sure though, if I have seen
All dreams, there’s always something new
Missed or forgotten in a hurry
But as I enter my love’s

Between the silent waves of time, I dive into a sea of dreams
Between the silent waves of time, I dive into a sea of dreams,
where the sensations of being are like drops scattered in the vastness of water.
In each drop of pain, I find a warm image, a balm for the soul,
an infinite bath that embraces the whole, soothing with its gentle touch.
Pain, like a shadow dancing

THERE'S STILL TIME
Although fate may take our life
down different paths than we have planned
and some of the wishes me made in childhood r
emain unsung…
as long as we are living and breathing
there is still time
to fulfill some of he dreams we had when we were young.

In the labyrinth of dreams, where words are sculpted from silence
In the labyrinth of dreams, where words are sculpted from silence,
I often wonder why I don't dare to speak my truth.
How could it be so hard to let the heart flow,
When day by day I play with sounds, with rhymes, with metaphors?
Would it be enough for these words to reach her, to bloom?
I already know

In a corner of the world where dreams break in waves of silence
In a corner of the world where dreams break in waves of silence,
And shadows dance on the edge of a heart too full,
In a sea of thoughts that pour like a river of unrest,
I stand and unravel into thousands of threads of longing and regret.
My soul, a canvas of stars that ignites and fades,
In a

The Benefit of Dreams
(“Something from Nothing”, 2024, original encaustic)
The Benefit of Dreams
The benefit of dreams are many
They literally allow us to meet
The woman, or man, of our dreams,
Meet and even live a lifetime with.
Same goes for dream house, car, and job
Children and pets.
They allow us to experience the unimaginable
And unattainable,
And even sometimes force us to taste
True terror

Happiness
We tend to blur the lines between purpose and lies
as we break our spines reaching for our broken prize.
We force a smile while we scream inside
throwing up bile as we choke on our pride.
We grin as we stand before the mirror
learning to rebrand our shakey interior
Laughing we return to the idea of being satisfied
while we

Looking for Home
we need adult pants
to confront our dreams demise
before time waves bye ~
moving to a sunny state
might turn our sadness around
no more lush yard land
useful outbuildings scattered
old farm house we love
maybe sad byes to willows ~
then hi to palms and beaches
we felt this was home
an old house where we belonged
not the landlord though
so to
