What is there to say now
What is left to be said
Has it not all been expressed
Let’s refrain from speaking further words
Discussion can turn into argument
So let’s just walk away agreeing to disagree
We do not have to agree to be friends
I respect all your views
You are my closest friend
Yet we don’t always agree
But that doesn’t have to tear our friendship
We are too mature for such foolishness
We can always accept agreeing to disagree
Let’s vow to keep our friendship true and strong
You always show respect
For I am your close friend
Though we sometimes disagree
There is no need for us to argue
It is good we can rise above the fray
And live our lives as friends agreeing to disagree
And communicate adult- to-adult
We value each other
And give ear to our views
We have so much in common
Which is the basis of our friendship
A strong bond and relationship each day
So let’s model how true relationships are maintained
Friendship is one of the greatest treasures
Surely on this we can agree
Friendship transcends full agreement
On all matters in life
I can’t avoid
wounding others’ hearts with my words;
oftentimes with sarcasm I do forget
that what for me is jest
is for others a bitter herb hard to swallow.
It’s only later that I come to realize
that I have caused somebody’s pain;
then I, too, suffer and regret my tactlessness. .
So nowadays,
when I engage in discussions,
I take a deep breath and say a prayer
to be calm and be kind,
to respond gently and pick my words carefully,
to disagree without becoming offensive,
or, when I consider it best,
to choose silence, say nothing, and preserve the peace.

If we should disagree
Why must we disagree with hate
If you like red and I like blue
Is fighting then to be our fate
When called upon to love our land
Does blood not run in wounded hearts
No matter who we choose to love
No matter color of our parts
So you were born a country boy
And I know not how cowboy’s play
Does that mean we can’t coexist
That we should not both have a say
For change will always take the reins
And none much like just what may come
So certainly we should be fair
In weaving hope for all, not some
And, if we should disagree
Why can’t we disagree with love
If not, our world may go away
Can we not think, then rise above
I stand not to repress,
I mean only to express,
My opinions without another feeling less.
Each a diverse human being,
Common ground far between,
"Political correctness" is nothing but a dream.
No one's truth is more true,
No one's story defines you,
Same points, details differ our view.
No one person's way is right,
People revell in this fight,
This future has no exit plan in sight.
Hard yet simple it can be,
Hinders most on delivery,
Essential for hearing you & me.
Not what we said but how we say,
Usually complicates our way,
Come together, not tomorrow but today.
Our future will brighten.. you'll see,
Full of harmonious clarity,
If we can genuinely agree to disagree.
Understanding, communication & respect above all.
We must let go, let the ego fall.
We can agree on indifference while maintaining personal truth,
A vital message to pass on to our youth.
No pressure my mates,
This not what this for,
All I am thinking,
No need for this war.
I won't cut your opinion,
Even if we disagree.
Each of us has a dominion.
The 'truth' is what we see.
Some, lock in disagreement,
Then counter with persistence.
To views that are recurrent.
I think I'll keep my silence.
Agree To Disagree

I’ve been known to rebel
when losing freedom of choice.
When my opinion is silenced
you’ve stolen my voice.
I find disfavor in obeying
another person’s commands.
A conversation is much better
when not laced with demands.
It isn’t always what you say,
that winds my clock, but how you say it.
Tom
They say when a dragonfly lands on you
you’ll be blessed with good luck…and prosperity…
Which is why I smile whenever that happens…
for who am I do disagree…
f this is your thought
Or your belief
My opinion nor conviction
I shall not bequeath
We are each made different
His intention to be
Your thoughts, my thoughts
Are different you see
To force my thoughts
Or make you see
With thine own eyes
shall never be
So few words, such great meaning
That age old saying still true
Agree to disagree
That’s all we need to do
Unity is comprised
same thoughts or beliefs
Amongst comfort of many
It’s such a relief
For this beautiful world
It could be so grande
Respect our differences
United we’d stand
Opinions are great
Each have our belief
Force ours onto others
Breeds resentment and grief
For my convictions
I hold them strong
If yours aren’t the same
Doesn’t mean we are wrong
Open your heart
Have open mind
Do not force yours
I not force mine
Try it once
Its somewhere to start
Still are the lips
Full is the heart
Now we’ve learned
One important lesson
For all who are near
A lasting impression
I know and you know
What we should do
Agree to disagree
My challenge to you
Nearly straight is straight enough, t'would seem!
They, every year 'til this one, disagreed.
Now a thin wire tendrils down,
Grabs the fir tree by the crown.
Dad won this time; he's hung it from a beam!
I don’t understand the way
That hatred seems to rule
Every minute of every day
It seems to gain more fuel
Dave told us years ago
That “We Just Disagree”
But now we choose to hate and so
No answers will there be
Cooperation is a lost art
Collaboration can’t be found
Real solutions will never start
When hatred still abounds
There was a time not long ago
When opposite sides could talk
Design and ideas would flow
Our leaders walked the walk
That time is gone, it seems for good
And hatred rules the day
Discussions turn to attacks so rude
There’s nothing left to say
It seems that now we never find
When two on opposite sides
Disagree, but still are kind
To others far and wide
“Agree to disagree” I’ve heard the phrase
And try to comprehend
That differences, like a smoky haze
Don’t make you hate your friend
So make a change, just try and see
You’ll help this world go round
Don’t hate because you disagree
And answers will be found
Why is there so much emphasis put onto education,
Is it true that its the only solid foundation,
Or does it just attract negative frustration,
So many questions and excessive pressure,
What happened to the days filled with pleasure,
You are told to seek knowledge to excell,
Improve your learning and get a degree as well,
To fail is like dropping a massive bombshell,
The assumption that everyone must go to college or to uni,
To access a better future is quite gloomy,
We become disconnected and loose our compassionate veil,
Everyone wanting to succeed is also wanting others to fail,
To gain a stable and well paid job with all its wealth,
We must loose our moral habits to welcome in, ill health,
Forcing a child to receive Adult ideas,
Compelled to devour grown up verbal diarrheas,
Instead of accepting each others strengths and take into consideration a child's wishes,
We loose our minds and our souls become suspicious,
Beliefs and values are good for the heart,
So no one can dictate to you, that you are not SMART.
Conflict is inevitable
In any meaningful relationship.
It's okay to disagree.
It's okay to want different things.
No two people are exactly the same.
No matter how deeply in love
And happy a couple is,
Both are bound to be out of sync
In terms of needs and wants
Every now and then.
Conflict is inevitable
In any meaningful relationship.
Even couples with decades
Of marital bliss have spats
Once in a blue moon.
This is common knowledge.
It's impossible to be
On the same wavelength all the time.
Even longtime lovers have different fears,
Values, tastes and preferences.
Conflict is inevitable
In any meaningful relationship.
Opinions differ; rather than
Splitting hairs ad-nauseum,
It's better to brainstorm a solution.
And it's okay to arrive at an impasse.
Avoid going down the rabbit hole
Of blaming, belittling, guilt-tripping,
And threats. For the sake of peace,
Simply agree to disagree,
And everybody wins!

Daughters had diverse ideas for sure
They both thought theirs was absolutely pure
One emphatically thought leader was the second coming
Other saw anti-Christ, out-of-control loser who is bumming.
At the end of a particularly unkind day
They both were angry having had their say
Neither speaking now, their divided thinking far apart
This dictator has torn their family and country apart.
Over the open space between us words hang upside down,
arguments suspended, tongues and ears embattled
from beneath each crooked crown.
understanding only half, of all that is pretended.
Hanging like a poster-child of youthful disbelief.
Sinking in these quicksand feelings everyone calls love.
Drying eyes will recognize the face of all our grief
while souls will touch without the mask of unprotected glove.
Our time from out a mirror stares, reflections of a thief
whose only sin Is catching all the hours we remove.
whose only virtue still remains, there’s nothing left to prove.
You will find
that, while speaking your mind,
you won’t lose TRUE friends if you are kind.
Can’t you see
that when we disagree,
your anger hurts but does not change me?
Tell your truth
without being uncouth.
Don’t be sharper than a serpent’s tooth.*
