An astute and interesting citizen
Observed his legislators in their
Seats of congress.

He took a mental photograph of their
Actions and later developed the picture.
That picture unveiled for him a great
Practical picture of life.

As legislation presented in congress,
Our lives can be debated.
We can be berated.
We can be frustrated.
We can be hated.

If through much endurance,
We manage to make progress,
We are still subject to be vetoed.

But keep to the path of endurance.
Give it all you've got to give,
Because that which opposes you,
May well be overridden.

Premium Member Poetic Breadcrumbs

Poetic breadcrumbs
Tossed into the air
Blown about by errant winds
Pecked at by bloated pigeons
Debated by chattering squirrels
And yet I sit with crumpled bag
Knowing I will return again
Replenishing the hope
That what little I offer
Is a gift for us all

The words are arguing
A mock debate
No rebuttal
A juxtapositional comparison
Of mirrored images
Seeking definition

The days weigh on me
An aged rudder struggles
To maintain a fading course
Yellowed sails doubting the breeze
Tremble as the shallows near
The landmarks seem more distant
The destination less definite

Joy remains
Yawning in the shadows
Sighing as it listens
To the chatter of life
Dancing in its memories

Premium Member Illusion of solidity

Each realm a template, by God created,
which appears solid, though made of dream-stuff,
wherein if we enter, we are baited,
by shape shifting forms, touch both smooth and rough.

Viewing each domain as an illusion,
yet real if we don a form therein,
holding awareness thus ends delusion,
in the void of silence of heart within.

To materialise and vaporise
our form at will by power of intent,
is then the control we may realise,
with vibrance of our heart granting consent.

The truth of what is, may be debated ~
Each realm a template, by God created

Ali Khamenei

Ali Khamenei,
a Shia cleric
and the Supreme Leader
of Iran.

Today,
many in Iran
weep for your passing.

To many,
you were a symbol
of conviction
in difficult times.

To others,
your legacy
remains deeply debated.

You lived
through years
of conflict,
sanctions,
and uncertainty.

The storms of history
followed your footsteps.

The Middle East
bore witness
to war,
loss,
and generations
searching for peace.

Supporters remember
your steadfastness.

Critics remember
your decisions.

History
will continue
to examine
both.

Leadership
is never carried
without burden.

Power
is never remembered
without consequence.

Today,
a chapter closes.

Tomorrow,
history will decide
how your life
is understood.

May those
who mourn
find comfort.

And may the future
bring wisdom,
justice,
and lasting peace
to the people
of Iran
and the Middle East.

Rest in peace,

Ali Khamenei .

A Thwack

On the bus we heard a thwack;
The driver kept on going.
I couldn’t really see out back,
But soon, the bus was slowing.

The driver stopped and went to check.
A vehicle, parked double,
Had had his mirror hit the deck;
Our ride could be in trouble.

One woman left the bus and yet,
The rest of us just waited.
No one began to moan or fret,
Our outcome not debated.

A minute passed and he returned
And shrugged, “That car skedaddled.”
If there’s a lesson to be learned:
New Yorkers don’t get rattled.

Amibitious Snitchez

Tittle tittle
make love the middle
love
Which complicated romances
A fool should be
more wiser to see
not be obvious taking chances

It ain't bout rejection
See all I am reflecting
Is complicated
But it real

What I am suggesting
In such complications
Is ah due wash thyme will be
It ain't that complicated
And all you
Debated is where.
You stand with him
Or me

Neilsen got ratings
And what we debating
Is one of those
Who are oh succiees
White shelves and bammas
Your tense reminders
Is bout you and mi

Oboe, oh oboe
The piccolo has played
The piano is tuned
The song is fluted
Bytch why can't you behave

Barking and spicing
In your conversation
The secret recipe gave
Can't trust whores
Sorrstrees who
Chore-9h
Trick
Please behave

What that
Is it jelly
I ain't Mackiovelli
The triple crown has past
 Is Preakness playing
We ain't behaving
Gonna give next guy
Sum azz

Premium Member Dynamic stillness

Heart is poised in peace, so mind draws a blank,
yet our attention is animated,
form drenched in bliss mists that care not for rank,
so there is nothing to be debated,
as illusions shape shift as is fated.
Rapture rises, each tremor surprises,
free from mind that weighs, measures and sizes.

Premium Member He was Trans

he was trans;
his parents kicked him out
stopped loving him
empathetic strangers took him in

she was ostracized,
bullied by classmates and her family
because she was gay
someone who believes in diversity gave her a home

they were beaten almost to death
people debated whether it was a hate crime or not
they were hospitalized for three weeks each
outlaws ourselves, we included them in our community

Empathy is not only for friends
We are all diverse; it is the way of the world
Inclusion is the tough one
Please open your heart and include everyone
Love is the reason we are here

Book of Duration

An ode to love
Yet my faith
shuns the observance
of. Valentines Day
Man knows not that
he is loved until married
MIGHT those in verse of
such things argue
Ones foes might wish to
lore a prespective lover
away
Only to be laughed at behind
Ones back
when your words are used as
script of coupling might then
You'll understand
when the situation is mostly debated
and the askments to marry give way to
the allowancments of sabotage
all whilst friends and family watches
and refuse to speak it to thee
Only a fool allows romance to tell the
story.

I wish not to disturb your mind
I am undone and not finish. When such should
Have been said we are undone and are unfinished

Premium Member Saving the Baby

moving day across town
I was incredibly busy
With two babies
moved much of the boxes by myself

babies were three and two
They took turns running around boxes
fighting over tape, laughing at the emptiness of both houses
I was exhausted, but happy about the move

We were moving from one rental to another
But it was bigger, and I had plans for it
I debated about the mirror
It was old and beautiful

Could I carry it by myself?
I decided to try.
As I came out of the house I saw this
The three-year-old was lowering the two-year-old out of the car

I had to make a choice.
I dropped the mirror and ran to save the two-year-old
from possibly hitting her head on the sidewalk

the money note

The Money Note
Bad time for shipping, and I had no work, so I slept on the sofa
In my mother’s small flat, she sat up late drinking coffee,
reading and smoking cigarettes.
I had a small unemployment benefit, and my mother took most of it
For lodging, I spent most days outside trying to find work and
Sometimes I was lucky and got a temporary job as a washing
up at a cafe or cleaning the floors.
The old church in town was open until eight in the evening. I often
went there to rest and sort of half sleep, one day in front of
I saw a big money note -500 coronas- picked it up, put it in
my pocket and debated whether to keep it or give it to the verger;
Then the organ music started, I couldn’t bear it, and I left.
I thought of dinner and a nice bottle of wine, took a closer look at
The note was 500 coronas, ok, only it was monopoly money and
quite useless, back in the church, I put the note in the collection box.

Premium Member Thought of the day

at peace with a god mind has created ~
it becomes our faith, hotly debated

strangely enough, we never pause to ask ~
why is it we don such a fearsome mask

what were we before conditioned belief ~
if we know god, why then sorrow and grief

we know not our Self and yet we seek God ~
we find Him not because heart has not thawed

we are the blockage, we are in our way ~
with each breath may love be our heart’s mainstay
