When a life well lived has ended,
it leaves an incomprehensible hole.
How can we ever conceive of
the disappearance of a soul?
Yet, I think what's even sadder
is when the things that could have been
remain undone, never flowering,
finished before they could begin.
A new mother, with undying love,
how her heart is harshly torn
by the unfathomable tragedy
when her new baby is stillborn.
Untold words of a lifelong, faithful friend,
the words of passionate love
that can no longer be spoken
to a would-be lover up above.
The unattempted dreams of a man
afraid to try, only to himself, betray,
a little grief each day, waves on a rock,
slowly wearing those dreams away.
Without breathing, we'd have a world without mortals.
I cannot conceive of a world without writing, and I
cannot imagine a world of mortals without READING.
A picture thought about READING inspired me today.
Far more than the utterance of words,
READING is like a quiet flow of life.
We inhale, intake, or breathe in words
That captures and develops pictures.
How would we navigate a world without arithmetic?
And we know that God is the perfect mathematician.
Without His calculations, the universe would be chaotic.
How space and time affect us is always on His mind.
We pick up a book, magazine, or landmark posting
As we exhale, outtake, or breathe out words;
And as we READ, we are creating snapshots
Of life for ourselves and others to experience.
I sense this truth in any good READING material.
If the READING happens to be The Book of Life,
how vast is the realization of this truth? READING.
It is one of the most beautiful river flowing of life.
Just as the blush will always leave the rose
and leaves of fall will crumble on the ground,
the love that comes when you’re in the throes
of lust can’t last, for love must be profound!
True love is patient and forgiving too.
It’s wise and cheerful, and it’s built on trust.
There’s nothing that your true love would not do
to keep love strong; uprightness is a must.
Most people can’t conceive of love like this.
It takes hard work for such love to be sure.
The expectation of a life of bliss
is why a common love cannot endure.
The lucky few who live and know true love
are those who can expect great joy above.
Acceptance
a defining moment in our lives
yet we are unaware
that it’s there
up ahead
waiting
and has been
right from the start
that moment
when we acknowledge
if only to ourselves
that some of our childhood dreams
will not be realised
we will not
go to that place
do that thing
be that person
it is not
defeat or compromise
but rather
a philosophical nod to reality
a reality
that we had no knowledge of
could not conceive of
when
with the exuberance of youth
we chartered our course
set our goals
and dreamed our dreams.
Waiting
Wait for me dear friend,
as I am falling behind.
I can not remember well,
what I need to do,
before I do it,
but I find that I reminisce
about the past all the time.
I don't understand why?
I can not conceive of how?
The who is without answer.
The what does not matter
most of the time.
When...
When, it happens
often, without warning,
off and on, and on again.
I sing and my voice is hoarse.
I laugh and smile
but not always at the right time,
or place, or as expected.
Life is not fair,
but I am waiting...
Waiting for the Lord to come.
He will set me free,
from the tangle I have made
the mess I have created,
the maze I have designed.
I am waiting for... a miracle,
that I know will come
if I just hold on tightly
to my faith.
Professor Bridges and Senator Hawley
Had an exchange they both scored as a win.
One thought the other was being transphobic;
The other pushed back on supposed pregnant men.
I’m not here to argue one way or the other;
What I find appalling is both thought they won,
And all of their posturing, each for their bases
Has no effect, and convinces no one.
I think we are way past any reconciling.
The treaties are shredded; there’s no middle ground.
Where it’s all headed is hard to conceive of
But I get a strong sense we’re spiraling down.
The meadow is greening, a little each day
Buds are beginning to swell with anticipation,
Small, furry creatures are appearing to play
The meadow is greening, a little each day.
Soon the larkspur will appear in full array,
As I stroll through with fond admiration
The meadow is greening, a little each day,
Buds are beginning to swell with anticipation.
As I stroll through with fond admiration
The meadow is greening, a little each day
Soon the larkspur will appear in full array,
Small, furry creatures are appearing to play
Buds are beginning to swell with anticipation
I cannot conceive of a more lovely location.

[a Trionet, fusion of the repeated lines
of a triolet with the 14-lines of a sonnet,
a poetry form I invented.]
Selfish and barbaric,
wrong and stupid
the one who only supplies
of himself thinking
conceive of everything... !
How little is it
this ideologic stature,
how is it phenomenal
this obscurantism... !
The Grim Reaper called on the family;
funeral arrangements will be finalized today.
A somber procession of all the wrongs
that tombstoned our relationship
march past, one by one,
casketing our “what God has joined together,
let no one put asunder” years.
Appalled bearers of the pain of separation,
the children, grief-stricken, but tearless,
gaze at us with bitter looks of betrayal,
while becoming joint custody statistics.
Ashen memories will repose
in the urns of our minds
until scattered by the winds of time.
Perhaps we were so afraid of old age,
we couldn’t conceive of growing old together –
as if growing old apart would restore our youth.
,
Peeling a luscious banana, ah!
And swinging from arm to arm,
In these luscious jungle trees.
Inhaling a clean, Spring breeze
You humans, cogitating and worrying,
Cannot even conceive of the joyous life
and freedom,
Of being a monkey!
We wear no masks as you looney humans do!
We worry not about drones as
some of you are so given to.
We are not prize driven, like some of you.
No poisons are to our systems shot.
That gives you geniuses, heart rot!
We mingle as we wish!
We are not obedient, blind fish,
Yes, indeed,we may not be as
intelligent or attractive as you!
But we are not under lockdown
by power mad humans~like you.
No Fauci creepazoids on our land
dare roam!
For we would chase him back to
you!
To live in the land of iPhones
and those insufferable, endless bullets,

Tell Me Something New or Go Away
David J Walker
Tell me something new
That I already know
To be true
Otherwise
I won’t believe you
Not a single
Word you say
I can’t conceive of any tomorrow
Any different from every
Yesterday
logged in blogs
Along the way
Tell me something
I already knew
Or go away
For the life of me, I
Cannot conceive of writing structured form like this
I will cry.
So, why try it
Clearly, it is worth a big kiss
My hit.
Not yet
A single miss
Get
For the life of me, I ...
Clearly, it is worth a big kiss
Get!

Those guys that lived centuries ago
More advanced than we thought, building chateaux
It has baffled our minds
Those were different times
Can't conceive of the feats in their portfolio
It's the latest intellectual thing; it's in vogue
To dare to say it doesn't make you a rogue
You can let people know that experts can show
That we are just two-legged animals: It's so!
Between us are no unbridgeable separations
We are merely advanced animal mutations
Our music no better than a Thai elephant's clanging
Our language duplicated by an ape on a keyboard banging
So, I'm terribly sorry to be behind the times here
But I find all of this to be unutterably *****
For to me it is the height of laughable misinformation
To try to conceive of an animal with a human's imagination
Poor last cookie, alone on the plate
No one partook, no one ate
Not for lack of flavor, this I know
Having already sampled its sweet morsels
Only one, is it wrong to steal a bite
From someone who's tempered their appetite?
Could I conceive of anyone so flip
As to decline the temptation of chocolate chip?
Must I do a stranger a favor
And step aside so they may savor
The succulence of the final taste
Or grab it now, in greed and haste?
The debate is settled by my mother's standards
Whose inner voice insists I show good manners.
