The Meadow Is Greening

The meadow is greening, a little each day
Buds are beginning to swell with anticipation,
Small, furry creatures are appearing to play
The meadow is greening, a little each day.
Soon the larkspur will appear in full array,
As I stroll through with fond admiration

I cannot conceive of a more lovely location.

Jeff Kyser Date: 2/28/2022 12:24:00 PM Can I ask a few questions about this form? So the top 8 is a triolet, and the only additional new line is line 6 of the second stanza, correct? And all rhyme with either a or b? Regarding meter, triolet mentions iambic tetrameter, but that's obviously not the case here. So meter is not required to be the same for each line. I look at many other poems that are declared to be 'triolet' (not your trionet fusion), and they seem to disregard the iamb/tetrametr too Just trying to learn - thanks!
