Tree that murmurs and breathes
Living like humans with leis and wreaths
One soul in time fated to trek
In a lost world of a living fleck.
Standing strong in the middle of a speck
A white dotted-speck in the center of a dim deck...

Christmas Tree – Simbolo ng Pasko
Sa bansang ito
Makahulugan ang Pasko
Kayrami nitong simbolo…
Makikita, mapapakinggan
Matitikman, mararamdaman
Oh anong karanasan?
Gaya ng “Christmas Tree” na makikita mo
Sa simbahan, parke o bahay niyo
Isa sa mga “Simbolo ng Pasko”
Isang puno na
May mga palamuti at/o Xmas lights pa
Sagisag ng makulay na buhay at pag-aanyaya –
Isa lamang ito
Sa mga simbolo
Ng makahulugan naming Pasko!

*Mga Simbolo ng Pasko
I have seen lollipop trees, sugar bell trees, faerie trees
iceberg trees, gnome trees, holly berry trees,
all for Christmas, decorated with a specific theme
I have seen a catsup tree, a taco tree, a barbeque tree
a cowboy tree, a dragon tree, a cat and dog tree
I have seen cartoon trees, and one tree of a specific meme
today I met my first living tree, a, reindeer tree
I wished I had thought of this myself
first I would have to have caught a reindeer
and learned what they eat
I am pretty sure it is not milk and cookies
Silver and gold never get old for us two
lovely blue spruce is exactly the right hue
we are here to decorate the tree
showing Christmas our individuality
I am tying on a tiny red Santa’s sleigh, I want my way
my sister pins on a baby doll and a leaf from early fall
I toss silver tinsel all over the rest of it when we are done
my sister hangs a green oven mitt, we are having fun!
memories of Christmases past filter into our minds
we throw other stuff on, junk of all shapes and kinds
Now an argument; who gets to put on grandma’s star?
We chase each other around the town carrying this way too far
Just because we got wizened, wrinkled and old
does not mean we are not still sisters bold
you have surely head of a cupcake tree
they sometimes have them at weddings said Vee
This was a capybara Christmas tree
it was made of cousins, there were thirty-three
The guests did not mind the rodents on the table?
This concern was queried by my Aunt Mable
They liked it, Vee said. They loved it in fact.
I could not wait to see Aunt Mable react.

The forest had wanted a Christmas tree forever and a day
The farmhouse had a little girl named Susie Krissy Kay
She was decorated full tilt in style of every holiday
She truly is our Christmas tree, the oak tree said one day.

Midcentury ghost of tinsel past,
you stand so stiff,
so proud, so chrome~
a space-age sapling,
a disco-dome
of pink, gold, and electric blue
gyrating round your branches,
sharp as kitchen knives.
No scent of pine,
no needles found,
just astronauts’ suburban lives.
O artifice! O sleek machine!
spinning in your silver sheen.
We put up the family Christmas tree,
decorated with lights for all to see.
Then, said have you seen the cat ?
Within the branches she sat -
and all day . . . that's where she wanted to be !

Stars on top.
Ornaments dance and bop.
Strings of colorful lights tied the knot,
blinking happily as one on the branch, they sought.
A kiss of ribbon and tinsel seals the lips spot,
ceremoniously dressed for thee.
A sign of His decree.
Christmas tree.
The Christmas tree stands
Ready for the lights
Then some ornaments
To place on branches
The large ones and small
On the low branches
Ornaments are placed
Now enter- Stormy
The blubs she bats
Slow with her front paw
The low ornaments
They are removed
Now paws the tree skirt
Is removed from the tree
The floor is bare now
Now she chews the branch
Shei s nudged away
It makes me wonder
Why stormy did this
I ponder my thought
What the reason is
Her first Christmas tree
I ponder my thoughts
This makes sense to me
It is the first Christmas time
She saw a Christmas tree

the scent of pine needles
still sticky with resin~
a green cathedral planted
in the living room.
lights blink awake, chasing
each other like fireflies
trapped in glass.
tinsel remembers
every hand that hung it,
every laugh tangled in its silver.
winter found its way
midst icy mists of snowfall
and its bas relief
of abstract patterned snowflakes
to please young and old with its
centurys-old splendor
as trees of lights and tinsel
light boughs of fresh pine
with hints of forest faeries
A wonderland complete in
its snowman sculptors
with rosy cheeks and big smiles
that beckon singers
round fireplace remembering
many prefer the summer
some of us prefer summer

Wittenberg whispers in winter’s hush,
where Martin Luther’s voice once burned the air:
A winter walk, the frostbitten air~
Martin Luther walked beneath the pines,
his breath a ghost in winter’s teeth.
He witnessed a net of light flung everywhere~
stars, like nails, pinned heaven
to the evergreen boughs~
unfurling his sermon:
How shall the weary heart be warmed?
The question hung in the pews like frosted breath.
Jesus’ hands reached out to lift the darkness, the storm,
and so shall you~
crown the evergreen boughs
with tongues of flame.
Each slender candle, small but bold,
shall be a fragile army in the darkness.
No fortress stands, no sword shall be swung,
just wax and wick~
representing Jesus’ endless light
brought into your homes.
Centuries have turned; yet, still they gleam~
glass bulbs and twinkling lights flicker,
retelling of that night.
Christmas trees stand where darkness descends~
not to outshine the star’s old beam,
but to whisper:
Here the darkness ends.
