Notes About The Poem

BEHOLD THE ALUMINUM CHRISTMAS TREE

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Midcentury ghost of tinsel past, you stand so stiff, so proud, so chrome~ a space-age sapling, a disco-dome of pink, gold, and electric blue gyrating round your branches, sharp as kitchen knives. No scent of pine, no needles found, just astronauts’ suburban lives. O artifice! O sleek machine! spinning in your silver sheen.
Made me laugh ~ we had the exact tree growing up well into the 80's. I love how you worked in the vibe of the 60's which inspired the creation of this "tree". Added to my FAVE's.
What a creative/fun ~ write/picture you have here. Love It... Remember some had color turning lights below to light up the tree. My girlfriend had this tree. It was a love or hate tree that year. Have a Very Blessed Christmas and New Year 2026...........
my parents had one of those aluminum trees...I ended up taking it to college and putting it up in my dorm room at Christmas. My fellow residents laughed at me....Merry Christmas to you as well, Paula.
