Song of the Four Seasons 2-16-24
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Song of the Four Seasons
Jagged steel gray skies
Compose barren bough sculptures
Midnight days, Orion nights
White fire crystal symphonies.
Spring wriggles adagio toes,
Sunbeams thaw tuneless meadows,
Daffodils dream yellow melodies
Blossoms burst fragrant ballads.
Downbeats of summer rainstorms
Silver sonatas of moonlight
Heat rises in crescendos,
Cool waves soothe sunburns.
Scarlet scatters leafy notes,
Crisp sapphire skies motifs,
Harvest chorales of harmonies
Harbingers in orange transitions.
Fingers intertwined in
wondrous oneness
together foreverness
breathtaking bliss
Eye to eye in
lyrical longing
melodic memories
soul symmetry
Backs turned to
bygone brokenness
solitary sanctums
heartbroken hibernation
Face to face in
aromatic anecdotes
possibility potpourri
enmeshed essences
Voices join in
rondos of rendezvous
chorales of compatibility
madrigals of mutuality
Heart to heart in
a fulcrum of fulfillment
a seesaw of serendipities
a trapeze of timelessness
Lips engaged in
passion's pendulum
voluptuous vocabularies
intoxicating innuendoes
She is lyrics and I am music
~ harmonizing a hypnotizing love song ~
a dizzying duet of delight
Ubiquitous sun
consuming through icy shadows
amidst winter chorus
Delphic paean on elysian winds
lustral chorales in
amber chronicles
Slowly sung, it's a lullaby of dreams
with moonlight charms
lulling you to sleep
I need to remember this night
the light we ignite within
shedding our sin
We soar boldly into silky shards
my ankles wobble, and I sway
Meekness left me speechless.
maintain moss's fear of tinkering
eroded by wear and tear
like a battered victory.
reaching out to the darkness
can the night swallow me?
hiding tinges of mellifluous tones.
In the rustle of leaves
hides a melody,
soulful as a barren call.
radiates an indomitable spirit
fears and quandaries cloud firm-level
in a shroud of myopia.
because rivers can't be crossed twice
switch to callow intrigue
tea is a lone integer in a ripening world.
NOTE:THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE using spaces&breaks without grammatical symbols ,the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and responds thus making this enigmatic form a two way interplay & interpretatIon unique to the moment& changing according to mood is inherently variable.
At his readiness, medley reduced to romance
Pure patched with strategy, pony Rosinanthe
Slick sleuth rotund from a thousand tutorials
Ideality frisked into quixotic filly deplorable
Avid lover Danton handles haggard hill driven
Hoof throb corruption chorales sin's provision
Ever after mantra mashed into lurid intervals
Putrid piebald frames racecourse, analytical
Etching on ranch entrance, ostler is cognizant
Required for pyxis stamina, rubies resplendent
Camofluer canters to sumer anonymous rural
Damsel plans her Danton's conclusion brutal
Mid August Triumphant Lament
My choir director
is a painter
a music stand her easel
the choir loft her frame
her canvas is the air
we breathe in
and synchronously exhale
Sixteen voices are her paints
organized by color palettes
low ebony hues down there
bright primary tones over here
complementary colors placed in between
the accompanist creates a background wash
under her attentive ear
Following her calling with tenacity and talent
her hands pirouetting like ballerinas
expressive decisive intentional
coaxing cohesive chorales
conversing with the rhythm
she paints a sacred symmetry of
sanctified synergy in sound
Pandemic Prayer
by Michael R. Burch
I pray tonight
the starry light
might
surround you.
I pray
by day
that, come what may,
no dark thing confound you.
I pray ere the morrow
an end to your sorrow.
May angels' white chorales
sing, and astound you.
Gramps' backyard teems with spiced herbs,
Peaches for offspring's dining,
With youngsters piping chorales.
A garden fount stands blithely
Misting potent soil of lawn-
Where lights bathe nature's display
To honor Gram's memory.
W hen duskfall glows,it brings a hundred sounds
O ver the vales, birds echo a chant’s rhyme
N otes tuneful as flint of stardust abounds;
D elighting a nightscape with lilts sublime…
E ach mystic hum rings like an abbey's bell
R arer than chorales of seas's rhapsody;
F luttering mildly while my own thrills swell
U ntil warblers drift off , hushed on a tree…
L istening still, to pale music’s farewell.
Hush now three days yet to past.
My grandmother joy was fulfilled with laughter.
The Christmas spirit was upon us once again.
The tree is surrounded with presents and chorales sing door-to-door.
The occurrence of Christmas would be wonderful.
The cards and letters came in big sacks.
We as adolescents would sneak to read them by ourselves.
The love of Christmas was shown via our snow-mom.
We hung a scarf around her neck and wished her a Merry Christmas.
We knew the hush of Christmas past was upon us.
We sleep like teddy bears.
We wore our cotton pajamas to bed.
The warmth of the cabin was nice.
We were tuck away and told to have a good night.
Christmastide sparkled in our eyes.
Merry Christmas shouted our grandmother.
We bustled out to open our presents.
The curtains were open wide.
The snow was glistening white outside.
Shush of Yuletide was a thrill inside.
CHRISTMAS IS…
A time for family,
Festivities and joy.
Anticipation for
Each girl and boy.
A time to relax,
Catch up on rest.
Eat much that will put
Suit sizes to the test.
Music will sound
In many locales.
Jubilation from choirs
And professional chorales.
Some will celebrate
The Savior’s birth.
And remember the reason
For His coming to earth.
For some however,
Sadness is near.
There’s not much reason
For holiday cheer.
Away from home,
In a distant land,
Not exactly how
He had earlier planned.
The war rages on
Day after day.
Soon it will end,
He does constantly pray.
His loved ones at home
Try to persevere,
Praying that they will soon hear
News about which to cheer.
Maybe next year,
They regularly pray
He will not have to be
So far away.
As we enjoy all
That the season brings
Let us not forget why
This freedom rings.
As we lay our heads down
For a restful night,
Many are still engaged
In the enemy’s fight.
Christmas for them
May not be as grand
As what we enjoy
In this blessed land.
So I ask you my friend
As I close this verse,
Do you pray for their safety?
And thankfulness rehearse?
