Wrack

The storm brawled with the flying rags
of mad clowns.

Small birds exploded
in spiral sprays of feathers.

Deer slogged against a hoof tugging fright.
Raccoons clung to barn beams.

Trashcans spun like whirligigs.
Ducks sunk amid churning reeds,
the wind hurt every eye & heart.

All hid from the calamity jig.
Whirling trees danced,
in a bugaboo blow

that chased a sky around its own
wracked
and flying red ribbons.

Premium MemberIf Death Be But the Final Cut

11

If Death be now the final cut
With no path to Heaven's door...
Thou I've never had the courage
To believe there's nothing more.

So forgive my celestial musings
And lay waste not my bugaboo
But allow me one small favor...
To love and pray for you.

                  12

Forgiveness be a wondrous thing
With no stone to weigh it down.
It knows no age nor time of day...
It knows no proper noun.

It floats upon a summer breeze
And makes light the coming storm.
It dances in each fireplace
To keep the masses warm.

But forgiveness holds no treasure
If not effected and applied.
So slather in gluttonous quantities
With a conscience as your guide.

                  13

There seemed a hellish wintry bent
As the storm pounded through the day.
The winds were whipping fiendishly
As our snowman walked away.

With a feral dose of helter skelter...
Nature seemed transfixed from normal rest
Leaving one to mull and ruminate
On the perturbations so expressed.

              The End

Bugaboo: Area of concern.

Recurrent Sneezing Fit By Ma Chew Too

This thick mucous essentially
the defense mechanism of a healthy
body electric to restore biz zee nose
as usual, which for this mild mannered
liberal leitmotif from the chronicle of one
matted nattering nabob of nativity attests
congested mob functioning like
a well lubricated machine, yet
for the life of me, nary a handy dandy
blues clues evident as per, how
the human entity empowered
to steamroll over
any reasonably annoying bugaboo.

Ah, now if only a similar innate
defense mechanism arose
within the mental health,
that would be a supreme testament
to thine atheistic tasty mints of miracles
minus the attendant pharmacopeia
of this, that or some other drug to aright
skewered psyche (of this contemplative,
emotive and intuitive literate outlier),
whose sixty two plus eight shades
of gray matter went awry and skewed
toward tipping point (to cope with ordinary
cares and concerns of an uncertain
whirled wide web) found the bulk
of his life riddled with a joe king,
gun slinging tub back ha chew win,
bard **** wordsmith,
who doth newt like to utter any
cryptographic crossword.

Sol's chariot slowly sinks, setting sanguine skies afire
while an ebony darkness descends, dousing scarlet flames.
And shadowy silhouettes swiftly shape shift...mimicking
monovalent monsters, bolstering bugaboo beliefs,
as a maroon moon maneuvers amidst a sea of stars.

Premium MemberBlue Daisy

Up with the sun, put coffee to brew
Inside my mouth, some sticky night goo
Standing in housecoat with fuzzy house shoes
Starting my day, as always I do

Down with a cup, feeling like new
Stepped onto my porch, that first morning view
Something was odd, some weird bugaboo
There must have been paint in the heavy night dew

Next to my house, by my wandering jew
My once yellow daisies had all turned light blue
Even my houseplants, my once green bamboo
Was now a blue green of the ugliest hue

So I cut them all down, in a rage I flew
Hacking and chopping, like I'd lost a screw
Roses and hostas and yes, daisies too
But I saved a bouquet, Here! These are for you.

Half Free and Fighting On

Chicago – first in violence, city of potholes,
with no public parking and over taxed people;
loud, lawless, unlovely.
Half free and fighting on with corrupt government,
breaking its words, where temporary taxes become permanent.

Where people are afraid of political bugaboo,
self-righteous fraud, this big business man,
the doctrine of “addition, division and silence”,
where the grafter inspires the coward
and well-armed government.

Politicians who play off one party against another,
bad Democrat against worse Republican.
The corruption is not merely political; it is financial,
commercial, social, ethical –
oligarchy with representatives of special interest.

Premium MemberDream On

Anatomy's a bugaboo
But dreaming is not a taboo!
There is something under
Your clothes--so no wonder
I've thought of things I like to do

Author's note: This is about private parts. We usually keep these to ourself, but the ideas we have are there and cannot be purged from our bed. However, it's not great to brag or make rating lists public. A lesson for the Donald and the Harvard mens' soccer team. What turkeys!!

Unease

Many things can cause unease:
Heights, the dark, loud noises, fleas;
Crowded places, public speaking,
Rocking chairs that won’t stop squeaking.

Body odor, traffic, roaches;
Birthdays as old age approaches.
Vampire movies, tunnels, rats;
Caves with tons of flying bats.

Spiders, lightning, doctors, death;
Elevators, garlic breath.
Fire, bedbugs, snakes and worms;
Subways, strangers, germs, germs, germs!

Clowns, exams, a first-time date;
Flying, swimming, gaining weight.
Airport scanners, roller coasters;
Bridges, missing children posters.

Each of us becomes obsessed
With what it takes to make us stressed.
What’s strange is that my bugaboo
Most likely will not bother you!

Aches in my joints; am I just growing old?

Heat is blasting, but I’m shivering cold

     I won’t admit it

     Not for one minute

That a flu bug’s bitten and taken hold

Souls Can Stand

Souls Can Stand

A heart that stands-alone knows hurts that troubles brew.
If ever in a bugaboo, in need of loving hands,
Take leave of evil plights; each day begin anew.
On knees, bow down and praise the Lord; with vigor make your stand.

Wait not to seek your God; invite His love within.
When drifting on the wings of hope and trials overwhelm.
Remember, prayers unto the Lord build strength…raze sin.
Abide with His enduring love keep seeking Heaven's realm.

Depend on God to bear hope up and heal zest lost.
Dwell not on dreadful heartaches and mistakes on past paths trod.
Malevolence can muddle minds when faith is tossed.
Is hatred worth eternity exiled away from God?

Make life sublime, pure hearts; forgive. Then, kneel, and say.
“Oh Lord, today, come light my path; absolve this heart and stay.”
