Premium Member Someone Who Used To Be You

When splendor of love spun dreams ecstatic
Musings of fantasy waltzed joyous themes
On blossoms of meadows in prime of spring
And giggles of streams donning green prairies

I felt your presence my eager beats crooned
When halo of the moon ravished our mood
As melodic rhythms inflamed doting hearts
And voice of hot passion blazed our romance

You were sweet life that I cheerfully claimed
And I was to you what your triumph meant
But feelings euphoric soon lost their edge
When in winds of change vows of youth drifted

I saw you go there where lonesome souls cry
Where emotions despised strife of pale sighs
When day’s silence often filled awkward void
And haze of nights we spent gazing gray skies

When dawns soon arose enveloped in shroud
Love too got masked, cloaked in stygian clouds
And allure, once acclaimed, began to fade
As contempt of sameness dwindled our flames

As you leave this dream, dear, you know it too
No longer the birds choose to croon your tune
They are searching someone they loved and knew
The one they once wooed, who used to be you

Premium Member A Prince For Roseanne

A long long time ago there lived a king.
His lovely daughter he’d give anything.

She walked about, jewels dripping from each hand,
talking down to all, thinking she was grand.

There was but one thing missing from her life.
But not one prince desired her for his wife.

Her personality repulsed all men.
They’d meet her once, then not see her again.

Her father found for her one rich old king
but she preferred young, handsome and charming.

One day the perfect suitor came along.
This handsome man wooed Roseanne with a song.

How beautiful his voice! How sweet his face.
A man was he of talent and of grace.

The opposite of spoiled Roseanne was he.
The king arranged their wedding anxiously!

However, no one knew from whence he came.
Though very rich, this young prince had no fame.

How was it he could even stand Roseanne,
the princess from whom all the others ran?

He had so much. Why waste it all on her?
Despite good looks, Roseanne had no allure.

One thing he asked for. This is what he said:
“Inside my castle we must both be wed.”

The wedding guests felt great relief and bliss,
for Roseanne soon would get her first true kiss!

But unbeknownst to them, the handsome man
Roseanne was marrying had his own plan.

When he was young, a witch on him had cast
a spell! It would be broken now at last!

The ceremony started. Vows were said.
The prince then raised the veil from his wife’s head.

He softly kissed her lips. Then something weird!
The castle they all stood in disappeared.

The wedding guests waist-high in water stood.
The prince changed too, and he did not look good.

His voice so beautiful became a croak.
The king stood there about to have a stroke!

The splendid castle had become a bog;
The groom leaped happily – once more a frog!

Premium Member There Is a Star With My Name On It

Oh! how love has bloomed—

fantasies like wild flowers plucked
a collection of candlelight craves and desires
fill a wistful star-maiden’s basket;
a bouquet of white asters from Orion’s garden
grown in a fiery field of light against night
gathered in a hazy ribbon
and held in the bosom heat
of this Autumn bloom’s passion

tender is the kiss blown from star-dusted lips
a need to gain goodwill in the "om" of zodiacal light
incandescence in full blow from a single breath;
fireflies in a fervor find favor
with the midnight-scene-stealer; Selene
of locks of hair fair and skin lustrous bare
fertile with romantic flair—
as this swooning flesh-and-blood-angel
closes her eyes and seeds her dream
with the sheer intimacy and cosmic love-play
of wishes wooed

amid astral petal-points pulsing with promise
rosy sparks burn in a slow-dance dip..
one slips through the water-colored layers connecting
Sun of bright and Moon of dark in the thrill of twilight
where hues suspend in sensual rendezvous until
merge of his-and-her-skies diverge until the next dawn -

     there! up there..
falls a star with my name on it

  and here..
                  laid into your wished-for-hands;
            a stargazer’s galaxy of heartbeats
      with y o u r name on it -

as this dreamy red aster smiles falling like a star
    for y o u

Premium Member O' Butterfly

O' Butterfly, a child, disgraced
Bewitched without a chance
Beguiled, exquisitely endowed. Frail wings held no escape
Such innocence would glaze her eyes, as gossamer might do

He wooed her far astray with words, of promised wedded bliss
Travail would kiss the purest heart,
and weigh her soul with song

~

The season blossomed, softly charmed
of spring and cultured lore
But disarmed with hope of tender leaves
of which the leaves were tongues

His arms had warmed the coldest night, no stars to right the wrongs
Tho' moon wore shadows of the sins
conceived by western codes

Her nature pure, as gentle rain, was as welcome as the sun
Expressed in humble, reverent awe,...so eloquently sung

A collector dressed in mock disguise…, without a thought or shame
forgetful of her fragile ways, he caught her by surprise
A uniform of chloroform, a smile that didn't warn

A net, he held, along with schemes, a plot to win her hand
then trapped her with a smile, a whim, a ruse of false intent

With kisses spent, upon her cheek
She flew into the bliss, with trust, a web of false retreat....
The deep abyss of love, she fell, her heart upon her sleeve
His promises, with no repent, pretense, though, never spent

Beneath the spell.....he said farewell, and kept the lies intact.

With broken wings she could not fly
Her eyes gazed out upon the seas
Her voice cried out soliloquies
But anguish left her there to die
as if to find release

Her heart impaled. The sword had won
Grief had muted midnight's tongue
while east winds echoed with her song…
In death her song lives on

Premium Member Beneath the Strawberry Moon

Hoisting passions fervid, probing celestial height,
Hypnotized we stood, enthralled in smile of June,
Caressing dreams flirtatious of a romantic night,
Reaffirming love, beneath the strawberry moon.

Pulsing beats heavenly, fantasies esoteric chased,
Thrilling realm of love, resonating deep in your heart,
Content in your embrace, as memories intimate traced,
Echoes of promises eternal, forever vows impart.

Seeing you rejoiced, snuggled in my loving arms,
Nary a cloud dared to encumber cerulean skies,
As you navigated sight through opaline sea of stars
Tantalizing flame of passion, sparkling doting eyes,

Having been wooed by mystical glimpse of Luna,
Proffering blush of aura, tantalizing romance,
Bedecking tints orange upon luminous rosy awe
Seducing stance-entranced of enamored glance,

Gazing with throbbing hearts, where desires croon,
Hypnotized we stood, enthralled in smile of June,
Humming melodies, in sync with the celestial tune,
Reaffirming love, beneath the strawberry moon.

...and the wind..!
 was,
electric.
there was water..!
there was sun..!
...it was all renewable...
the energy,
powered,
sustained,
life..!

Fossil liquids burning
emitting toxins
that was OUR mistake.
From the day a human kick started
wound up the first combustible engine..!

The first spill in any ocean
should have been our clue.

It was what cigarettes was to lungs-
-what alcohol was to brain cells.

It was a human error,
a human error so huge
that like a mythical dragon
assumed a life of its own
consumed the will
the power
the limited minds
of limited men.

Unlike the giant beast
veiled as nuclear power
with its unlimited potential
that would have wooed the minds
of the greatest among us,
oil from its inception
had the smell of destruction on its breath.

It would in its own way
fulfil the prophecy
the world would end
with a whimper not a bang.

We saw its horns
its bright red skin
 its pitch fork
but we signed up willingly
...and from that day on
our eternal souls were damned.

Premium Member Paradise Lost

When sultry ripples take a hold
Replacing naive dreams
And fantasy becomes so bold
Seductive in its schemes

It moves into her mundane life
And tempts her with such skill
That she would follow anywhere
Against her weakened will

On soaring moonbeams she does fly
She mingles with the stars
And cushioned clouds become her bed
Seduction holds no bars

Loved and wooed by many
She wows the globe’s elite
Life is just a game for her
A playground at her feet

Sips champagne under starry skies
She dines with kings in Greece
Moves like Bardot in Monte Carlo
Goes au naturale` in Nice

But true love does elude her
Wrong choices to defeat
Gambles sometimes take a turn
Taste bitter from the sweet

Evening shadows enter
Before darkness takes its toll
And Paradise was just a lie
When naïve dreams did fall

Premium Member If You Like Eating Out Dont Read

QUICK EXIT

From the kitchen came a very odd smell
Menu was in Thai so I couldn't tell
Pointed and asked what is that
The waiter said its grilled rat
Was outta there like a bat outta hell...

EYE EYE

Went out with some friends for beer and meat pies
Asked the waiter to make mine a surprise
Well I took a huge bite
And nearly died of fright
The filling was made of fish and cows eyes...

ALL YOU CAN EAT

Went to a cafe where all you can eat
Thought I'd go large and have me a nice treat
Carrots, meat and some leeks
Then I heard the squeaks
Saw the food move and went white as a sheet...

MEAL DEAL

Why do restaurants sell meals that are cheap
Thought I'd go in check one out take a peep
I didn't like what I saw
Food undercooked and quite raw
And lamb kebabs may not be from a sheep...

BURGER AND FRIES

For fries and burger I was in the mood
I went in but quickly went off my food
I'll tell you the reason why
The waiter's wore just a tie
And nothing else they were totally nude...

WHATS IN A STEW (DONT ASK)

In restaurants never order a stew
What they put in to it would make you spew
Scraps from the day before
Some scrapings off the floor
And some other bits you'll find hard to chew...

LOW LIGHTING

Low lighting creates an ambient mood
Lovers taken out to eat and be wooed
They don't want you to sue
And you would if you knew
How kitchen staff really prepared your food...

Premium Member Yet I Stayed, Wooed By Nascent Azure Sky

Cheerily blew ocean breeze in beach-park
Till fiery tides climbed bouncing giant rock
Spurred on by the churning clouds hosting dark
As hazy winds ravaged paths on your walk
Rattling lashing gust where fishing boats dock.
Stranger were we, till blinding storm hit blast
Pouring pelting rain on our budding talk,
Waddling needlessly in each other's past--
Alas, like summer rain, our amour faded fast!

Yet I stayed, wooed by nascent azure sky
Charmed anew by rising violet hue
Dispersing vestiges of storm gone by
Enchanting crowds in periwinkle view
As you returned bearing secret you knew
Ready for the prize with smile in your eyes
Admiring beauty in portrait I drew
Starring just you beneath amorous skies
Depicted by my hands sporting romantic highs.

Premium Member Suddenly Swans

For Timothy Lee

My fried anxieties and crisped lonely would unite in my sleep's
repeat nightmares where a roster of random monsters pursued
their viewed, vile end of me. My pulsing terrors urged I run fast
but my feet always turned to absurd concrete, freezing me caught
as monsters qued for fleshy chews.

Then came you with blue eyes sparkling love-shades. In time,
you subdued my frantic bits and wooed me spooned in shared
sleep. There, my dreams altered to tame, chiffon waters where
I sat, posed, upon a beautiful swan who gracefully glided me to
happiness, beside wonderous, sister swans.

Suddenly, you, yes, you suddenly turned my monsters to swans who
fulfill me in dreamy captures as we sleep clasped in love as depth-cast.
Nightly, swans sail me thru morns detailed in dawn’s hue by love's truth.
Regal swans grace my dream-phased sleep because you love-chased me.

"Where flowers bloom, there is color, beauty and fragance, adding joy to life"~ By Poet
My garden now presents a lovely scene
So colorful with flowers unfolding their immaculate petals
And greeting me every morning
In varied shape and size and in sparkling shades
Among them are soothing little white flowers
Which open themselves at night in the lunar light,
Sensual red roses, multi shaded orchids
Flowers of pastel hues, colorful adeniums
And jasmines on creeping stems,
Intertwined and inseparable
Which send out a spray of heady aroma
When the gentle breeze sweeps past them

There are Bougainvillea’s of red, purple, and orange shades
Reflecting the iridescent colors of a setting sun
Rightly called paper flowers with their light weight
And lack of softness and synthetic appearance
These flowers, like torn pieces of crepe paper
Fly about with every sweeping wind,
Landing down scattered here, there and everywhere
Inciting mischief, but causing no harm

Pentas of lavender and white shade are seen
Nodding at butterflies wishing to be kissed and wooed.
Along with flowers grown in pots and soil
There are lovely water lilies in my little pond
Flowers brighten the indoors and outdoors
Lifting our mood and giving us immense joy

Oh Lovely maidens, you are one of a special kind
You bloom and smile for everyone to enjoy
But aren’t you there in my small garden,
Staying regal and proud especially for you and me?

Premium Member By All of This - Ah, Wanton Bliss

That passion’s night, to make me sigh,
my love seized several beams from sky
and shaped a ring of moonstone bright.
To make me sigh that passion’s night.

My darling beau, to make me smile,
then star-shine stole so he could style
a necklace rare with diamond’s glow.
To see me smile, my darling beau.

Dear Valentine, to dazzle me,
took whitest pearls from twilight’s sea,
with starry strand to intertwine.
To dazzle me, dear Valentine.

My true love wooed with more than these,
not only sight, but ear to please!
Two birds he brought that softly cooed.
With more than these, my true love wooed.

With rose bouquet, with kisses sweet,
he made my heart then faster beat.
Artisan of romantic play -
with kisses sweet, with rose bouquet.

By all of this, in motion set
was what I’d never known as yet.
It burst, then flowed. . . Ah, wanton bliss,
in motion set by all of this!

Premium Member Nette Onclaud, Princess To Be Queen

The Highlands, our Kingdom, our many Lochs and Glens
Our beauty woos fair maidens to be at the side of Highland men
Their futures to be part of our history, Queens to our many Clans
As we stand and salute the Saltire, by the side of their Highlander man

Such a Princess exists, in a far away land from the Scot's
To our shores we'll grace her beauty, once seen, forget me not
Onclaud, by the name Nette, shall stand by her Alba man
Upon a Ben she'll stand so proud, admiring the lands of her married Clan

She'll walk through purple heathers, thickened by natures sun
Amidst ferns and ancient bracken's by burns so crisp in run
By her side he stands this man, kilted displaying his kin
Claymore at the ready to grace his enemies skin

His Queen, their Kingdom, their Castle, resting on the shores of the River Ness
Overlooking forests and greens, salmon runs in richness finesse
When the night befalls these lands, in the Kingdom of the Lochs and Glens
It's understandable as to why they be wooed, by these historic Highlander men

Premium Member Summer Comes With Snow

Affection's eyes beseech one glimpse of thee,
To dream upon at midnight's slumbering
Forbid, O' God, as woeful absence grows
Whereon thy summer's sleep comes plagued of snow

Doth thou hear thy name in restless night?
Alas, please heed the song, devotion's call
While kindled passion glows within mine heart
In days disguise, the like to be so frail
Thus moon hath wooed a starlit evening sky
And I, with gladsome heart, wilt' fold my eyes

If all of heaven knows, explain, pray tell
How thee knows not, of what mine heart holds dear
Within thy eyes, thou see'st not, of me
Yet thee, upon first glance, mine own eyes rest
Wilt find, my heart, transfixed by cupid's spell

Not one lone star compares, without disgrace
Each thistle, dulled, without a sharpened blade
Where light has dimmed, lack luster in the sky
The taint' I feel, from now upon your face
Whence nary grace that cupid aims at me

To see thee fair, with love's acquainted eyes
And whence, this night a sun would choose to rise
Tho' wrath of winter beats against our door
I must beware that summer comes with snow
For burns your eye, a deeper fire's glow
Only beings half earth would dare to tame
With ax and saw, wild apple trees to burn
Nor spurn them not, but turn them into flame
