Sweats and Sweets

In one graceful motion, I lift my love on high
with all my strength, suffering and sweat
until hills fall in shadow. Until my words die
upon sweetened breath, I shall never forget -
I am fated to long for our lover's duet.

How can I break away, retreat from this -
a taste of forbidden love for my soul to graze,
to want eternally? For one summer day of bliss,
glazed, green apple eyes enticed with their gaze
while berry-kissed lips set lush fields ablaze.

In one fluid motion, I poured over you,
drizzled my love like honey. An impassioned sun
burned bold at midnight until Venus flew
and beads of sweat fell from heavens undone;
until, no going back, we, two, became one.

When my arms lift you into realms higher
than I'll ever know and stars sparkle near
like beautiful, new lovers to desire,
remember my sweat and sacrifice, my dear.
I lift you with waning days of sweet youth and tears.

~The Fruit of labour~

A frail body rests upon the bed; silver grey hair spread
on soft pillows; the fan turns lazily as her mind
travels slowly through memory’s winding paths.

Under the blue sky she toils in sundrenched fields,
bent and aching, brow dripping, eyes stinging.
She wipes her face, stopping to rest, then back to work.

Sitting on the porch watching the setting evening sun
and her young boys play, she runs her hand across the swell
of her belly, feeling the faint movements within,
anticipating the pain of an imminent deliverance.

Change of scene, and a relaxed smile strays on her face
as she recollects the abundance of harvest’s crops,
the laden crates of colourful, juicy, mellow fruit,
the threshing floor where golden straw and grain are strewn.

One last liberating push; as a cry fills the room
her husband’s anxious features soften with relief.
The pangs of childbirth now replaced with satisfaction,
she holds her little daughter in her hands, tenderly.

A smile still plays on her lips; her eyes flicker and close.
Her breath is soft as she slowly slips into peaceful sleep.

Time to head off to the gym, for my daily work out session
Tummy bulging, thighs are wobbling, my body is in regression
Once I was toned and oh so slim
But the lure of sweets just sucked me in
Chocolate and biscuits are my downfall
A bag of ‘Minstrels’ I will eat them all
Here in the gym I am working up a sweat …
Sweets and chocolate I must forget
So I do my aerobics class and then have a swim
Do fifty lengths – oh I must be getting slim
Then off for a circuit class, oh I do work hard
For I want to look so sexy in my purple leotard
After all that exercise I’ve worked up a healthy appetite
Grab a bag of fries – no wonder my clothes feel so tight!

         Shakespeare Sweats a Contest

Sweating Bard, thou dost pen in hot, mid-day roast!
“That new poetry contest’s golden trophy I must win.”
Old Sol, cooking Shakespeare into a warm, golden toast.
To lose, you see, for him, was a most dark, heinous sin!

Sad, sad, to observe him ignore his divine sterling wit!
Trees sftly whispering, “Stop now, be off your knees!”
“Take heed, for you need not lose and be christened a twit”
“Bard, be not just a common man, simply out to please!”

He listened to the whisperings of the wisdom of lush trees.
Thence, filled anew his goblet with freedom and fresh wine.
Broke his old quill with joy, his own dancing muse, now freed.
Trophy ideation, gone, his individualism, oh, magnificence divine!

Sweats and Sweets

Oh dear I completely misunderstood,
When they offered me a sweat, thought they meant a pud.
Meet us at the gym they said, thought, strange place to eat,
For a free meal I could endure the smell of sweaty feet.

Here’s your towel said the lady, took it with surprise,
opened the door to find a host of sweating thighs.
Bodies grunting everywhere, buzzing like flies
Where’s my sweet I asked, can’t print their replies.

Now I gathered was not pudding my friends offered me,
But a sweaty time in the gym to lose the fat I see.
Promised some chocolate if I manage to get thinner,
Not quite what I envisaged after my roast dinner.

So here I am sweat pouring from a thinner me
Happy ‘cos they are letting me have a biscuit with my coffee.

The day began with stress, coffee and sex,
Hot sweat was running down my face and back;
Today, our wedding day and we are wrecks.
He gives me some sweet chocolate to snack,
Our love is endless, I tell the kleenex.
My dress is tight, sweating, panic attack!
He gives to me donuts, a big dipper,
But sweet, this love, today and forever.

SWEATS and SWEETS

Shooting sighs and moans we fired last night still glows
As tangoed silhouetted shadows hungered love dancing
Peeping breeze outside match our whispers and calls flow
Desiring to dip and sway like leaves our top wanting
Our hands and lips pastel strokes to light brushes show

Two bared torso's touching amidst silken sheets warmed
Daring palms to fingertips send fevers upon hungry hips
Heartbeats stomps and thumps like bass drums stormed
Thrusts and pumps to nerves draw carousels of round trips
Stirring sweats to trail slow on curves adorned

Sweet scented heart lips in nonstop loving caress
As tempos rising aplenty voice fusion fueled cries
Torso's now blossom blessed by their loving impress
Gyration waves ebb after reaching heavenly skies
Legs twine, breaths calm, sated souls fall finesse

Sweats and Sweets

: candy, chocolate, how i feel, word play,
SWEATS AND SWEETS ©

I could never decide if I am in doubt
They both carry a same kind of clout
If you eat sweets than you should sweat it
If you sweat it than eat one only a little bit
Oh, not to have to exercise and break out in sweat
When I smell of sweat should I be made to fret?
Less chocolate, candy, cake and more gum
Gum is ‘sweet’ and I don’t have to sweat some
Try sugar free gum than the ‘no sweat-it’ is the answer
Until my next sweat for sweets causes me to ‘Stair-Master’

A flamed anguish gathers in a bleak cellar
of gray nights pounding on my veins,
steaming through  a roughened flesh;
that in my days I have lost passion’s luster
and solitude is the only elixir I rub for now.
Yet in reflection, the breaths find out how
this darkness can shed a glow upon excretion
of angst: the allowing of heart’s root begins
to sprout in dewy, fertile mornings.

I roam along cafes where flavored kisses
once bloomed in July: your turn now
to beg for a second chance, oh much too soon.
For I have reaped moments of lush joy,
of christened peace ,as new blossoms ripened
from discoveries  and friends to feast;
till goblets of life sparkled like oozing champagne
while your face turned old from stubbles of time.

I'll don the sweats and give up sweets,
if my reward’s an angel's kiss.
My girlfriend set the goals to meet,
I'll don the sweats and give up sweets.
Her gentle love will be my treat,
she promised me a night of bliss.
I'll don the sweats and give up sweets,
if my reward’s an angel's kiss.

She promised me a night of bliss,
five pounds is all I have to lose.
I feel this is too good to miss,
she promised me a night of bliss.
I have to take a shot at this,
I’ll lose the weight and drop the booze.
She promised me a night of bliss,
five pounds is all I have to lose.

I look a sight! And covering my skin
are old loose sweatpants I don’t ever wear
outside the house. That means I’m staying in!
No lipstick. No mascara, and my hair
is tied back in a ponytail. I need
to shower. It could use a good shampoo!
Instead, I grab a magazine to read.

There isn’t too much else I want to do.
But wait! There’s one more thing before I flop
down on my comfy bed. I go to get
some Häagen-Dazs with chocolate on top.
And don’t begin to think I’m finished yet!
Some candies too, for sweets are what I crave
when wearing sweats inside my woman cave!

You broke it off and you broke my heart
so today; I stayed inside crying --
wearing blue sweats from the dollar-mart.
You broke it off and you broke my heart
I’ll finish the ice cream and then I’ll start
a new box of chocolates, denying…
You broke it off and you broke my heart
so today; I stayed inside crying.

Sweats and Sweets
I’m jogging very quickly in my sweats
To reach my seventh mile without delay
Insatiably my fervor for a treat
I can’t control a taste for something sweet
Although I had no breakfast fare to eat
The sixth mile has me sweating in my sweats
But soon I’ll reach that place with no regrets
My thoughts are of her as we reach the bend
The seventh mile has come and here I am
Our sweat and sweets commingled in the end.

                    Why I can't---- I just can't stop eating,
these sweet things******They comfort me for tiny big moments.
Fill me up with cream pies & chocolate brownies
Stuff it down---- down deep where the pain is!
Bury it with a shovel Filled with candied Pecans______pat it down
As I roll my eyes O O O O oooh that cheese cake looks sooooo good!?!!
I'll wait for my wanted, until you all go home~~~~~I crave my alone--- lonely out of control time.... Uninterrupted/ without << judging--looks
What will I wear today? WHAT WILL I WEAR?
