Sweats and Sweets

You broke it off and you broke my heart
so today; I stayed inside crying --
wearing blue sweats from the dollar-mart.
You broke it off and you broke my heart
I’ll finish the ice cream and then I’ll start
a new box of chocolates, denying…
You broke it off and you broke my heart
so today; I stayed inside crying.

I really enjoyed this write. Oh...the comfort of chocolate! You really did well by the theme. Good luck in the contest.

A poem that flirts with the reader's emotions and tries to make light of tears that fall from saddened eye. Emile.

Thanks Lewis. I personally find the triolet to be a deceptively difficult form to use. I honestly don't think it ever sounds quite right when I try to use it, so I am glad you appreciate this one.
