How many paradigms and how many paradoxes
can you stuff into a pair of pint-sized treasure boxes?
And the answer is not,
"Oh teacher, I forgot,"
because I taught you to reason like wily little foxes.

Bender

All night
a sleepwalking death
stumbled in and out of his prone body.

He had been drinking again,
whisky fumes rolled around
a dry, thick tongue.

The air in the room
wavered from hot to cold,
feverish self-repeating scenes
of Paganini trilling a fiery violin
haunted his aching brow.

A sledgehammer dawn hit him.
Death withdrew from dulled senses,
yet it lingered like a bloodshot eye,
at the bottom
of

Gender Bender

And now let’s speak of Paparazzi
Who show us things that we should not see
They think they are so hotsy-totsy
                              Let Mama have the job

Yes, I’d prefer

GENDER BENDER
(Battle of the Sexes)

Today, I do admit I seem confused
About some common words that I have used.
I thought I was a female, not a male,
However now my gender must curtail.
Woke up today to see that I have changed,
You see my gender has been rearranged.

No longer can I call myself woman
However, pretty sure I am

USA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The teacher stood confused, in front of her second
grade class.
She was now forbidden to say boys or girls.
What were they, then,,,”its”?

This is called, “ social-emotional” learning.
The teacher, not only has subjects to teach.
But now a psychologist, she must be?

She will see to it, the correct sex of your child?
You thought you

She may wish to sit
Or truly commit
And pee on the floor like a man!

Spoon Bender

I’m suspended in mid-air
As I begin to look upon and stare
At the body which was mine of late
Before I chanced to disassociate.

When I cry out no one hears me
All because they cannot see
The specter of myself I’ve made,
And live ears are deaf to ghost’s tirades.

The lone fly keeps buzzing by and by
And

I know you were just being petty
When you laughed at my Uncle Betty
But who would believe
That he could conceive
After eating all that spaghetti?

Bender

Corkscrews in the jugular
and wine sat there in front
of you,
cheese and pickle on the sofa
so far and it's so good.

But then the morning comes
to frisk you
and empty glasses all around you
when they find the blood
it won't look good for you.

Make excuses
leave the party,
if you must then leave
without me
I'll see you across
the other side
tomorrow.

Just deny that you once had a member
You’re not gay and you are not transgender
Cos it comes from the top
that you’re in for the chop…
but you voted him in, do remember!

Inspired by the current news in the US today. The title is a play on words as I have read that at one time he

Gender Bender

Is it really anyone’s business
What about this gender thing
Does it pertain to likeness
Does it even mean a thing

If you’re intimate it matters
But that’s your business too
Everybody wants to know
Are they intimate with you

Your boss, your government
Why do they even care
They always want to know
What you’re packing under there

On a job application …
Isn’t that discrimination?
Why do

A Real Gender Bender

I drove on down to the grocery store
to buy myself some meat
milk and eggs and veggies
And variety of treats

When I pulled into the parking space
She was pulling out
I quickly rolled my window down
and gave a little shout

Well, she may have stopped in time
to save my poor car's fender
But what took place, after
