I tried to cut my toenails, but I couldn't bend.
It gets harder and harder the nearer the end.
And there's just no hope for a remedy.
Your body's becomes the enemy ~
and death a yearned for friend.

Friends, humans, country bumpkins,
bend me your ears;
'tis too true a tale
I tell thee here...
Once upon a time,
knew a girl who owned a mutt
but she did exclaim,
'It's the cutest pup you ever did see,'
all the same, it seems to be
asinine to give a dog a bad name
but it's not the worst
her canine could receive,
it wasn't cursed
when she called her pooch,
my pet 'Peeve'.

Civilisation's got me down
taking me to the tail of my tether
driving me round the bend
I'm not going to stick it out
to see where it will end
I'll do my best to regress
back to the stone age
cook on fire paint the walls
sit on rocks keep my cool
do what I have to when nature calls
humanity gets my goat
making me vote skins no clothes
leading me to lunacy's throes
I'm not going to see it through
to find where it all goes
I want to be a cave caveman
a tough rough-and-ready caveman
and do what cavemen do
and if you feel the animal urge
I'll make caveman love to you

Every dawn looks the same.
I chased the sun.
I pleaded with the skies.
I waited behind my watching eyes.
I needed to break the knot.
I wasn’t made for straight lines.
I taught the light to bend,
when the wind was going my way ...
Going my way!
I waited until the wind leaned in,
To blow my way and follow.
The sky leaned in; It knew my name,
but the sun's light refused to bend.
I grabbed the rays in shaking fists,
Wove them round my wrists,
Pulled them in close,
'til they broke,
And shone a new path for me,
etched by the wind,
now chasing behind me.
I taught the light to bend,
when the wind was going my way ...
Going my way!
You think you know the game
Until the light won’t change.
Your path stays the same again,
until the wind changes,
and you bend the light
to your direction.
I taught the light to bend,
when the wind was going my way ...
Going my way!
You can't control the sky for long,
Or hold a cloud fixed in place.
Until the wind changes -
Fills your sails behind you.
I taught the light to bend,
when the wind was going my way ...
Going my way!

I stopped for a moment to cherish the piercing and vivid
It was a split-second; behind cloud-like eyelids
There's a softness, being caught in their scope
Causing sorrows to quickly turn, into genuine hope
In my heart secretly chambered, hides your love tender and lush
Awakened to dreams that have long been asleep,
Whispering our sweet secrets with a gentle hush,
As if to assure my world they were meant to keep
What our welded link has forever awoken
Beyond the blue in those skies, light shines so deep,
Illuminating paths that were once broken,
Within the landscape of time, our true colors blend,
Recreating moments that fully transcend,
Forever etched in my memory's bend,
A testament that love's eternally fair
Let's hold tighter this second chance we both share,
For it's the only thing, that will truly be, beyond compare
To you coming back into my life with loving eyes that still care

She walks through storms—not afRaid, but awake,
With calm in hEr bones though the skies may break.
Time doesn’t heal—it only weatherS the ache,
Yet she plants her feet In the burn and the quake.
When dreams collapse, she quietLy repairs
The fragments of joy and Innocent prayers.
HEr grin may be torn, but it still holds grit—
A threadbare map with No hint to quit.
She bends with the wind; her roots danCe and shake,
But she nevEr snaps—she rises for her sake.

At a bend in the road
One needs take utmost care,
More so on road of life.” By author

Rush Hour
Hectic rush at day`s end
Everybody in haste
Traffic jammed at road bend
Proceeding at snail`s pace
Sound of sonorous smash
Splits my dream in a rash.

The Last Bend
I knew the road before me
Would soon come to an end
And I knew he would be waiting
Just around the last bend.
The tears of sorrow will flow
With many questions of why
But there are no simple answers
No easy way to say good-bye.
My spirit will continue
In those who remember me
And wherever you look
I'll be in everything you see.
I'll be the gentle soft breeze
That kisses your face
I'm the frost on the window
Delicate as fine lace.
I'll quietly sing to you
As raindrops dance
A symphony of my soul
In a harmonic trance.
When the day ends
And the sky is on fire
You'll think of me
And lift your head higher
When the leaves change
And dance to the ground
I'll be that serenity
You feel all around.
The rough road before me
Has come to an end
But I will be waiting for you
Around the last bend.

Bend the horn to find the note/
In the depths of the universe, you find harmony and rhythm, spinning planets in jazz sync, a cosmic dance with Sun Ra/
maybe he can set us free/
the jazz riff rises and resonates deeply/
It’s sound ready to take hold/
In the gut, where the soul finds its voice/
jazz might take you to a heavenly place/
man, what’s jazz anyway?
will you dig It till you die?
chill and cool out, let the music take you higher, like Sly and the Family Stone would say/
Blow, man, blow, let your passion show, set your spirit on fire, and don’t let go/
The trip through gigs, under neon lights, jazz club shows, ignite the nights, man, that’s show biz/
street corner magic, in self-discovery, playing our truths, setting our spirits free, House parties buzzing, the basement alive, flatbed jammin’, where creativity thrives/
anywhere, we find our place to be, In the freedom of jazz like It outta be/
For in every note, every beat, every radio play/
we discover ourselves in the jazz of the day.

Neither one waiting at the bend
Nor stationed upon the hill
Was present to make offense
Or entertain some evil will.
A breeze came, another went -
Rattling the bursages
As a creeping serpent
Going into hiding does.
If I died right here -
How many lonesome clouds -
How many foraging birds
Would pass by before I was found?
Would the beloved sun
Care to kiss me good-bye?
Would the angels of the canyon
Guide me on my flight?

It was not very stately standing all alone,
A small tree full of pinnate foliage,
Had no appearance of being strong,
Looked rigid, this songbird and squirrel village.
Thought how vulnerable and helpless it looked,
All by itself out there on the lawn,
The trunk of the tree had a severe crook,
Yet, it had stood and survived numerous storms.
Once again heavy and stormy clouds rolled in,
Wind speeds soared at a massive rate,
Unbridled fury twisted each limb,
Without doubt, it would snap and death would be its fate.
The howling wind swelled with extreme deadly force,
Power only Mother Nature brings,
But defeat it refused to endorse,
For this submissive tree was strong enough to bend.
When the storm passed and the sun was shining bright,
The tree was straight though some broke in the wind,
Thought about our humanness in this light,
In hardships, the rigid snap; just the strong can bend.
My life should be like that tree,
Able to endure life’s harsh winds,
How much better it would be,
If I was strong enough to bend.

Around The Bend
Up the road
I see it bend
Where my feet
So surely send
A body hurled
Towards its end
Up around the bend
From death
My lips do chap
To watch the cat
So closely nap
I, the mouse
Who’s come to tap
It sure to wake
And prowl again
But however unaware
With no thought
Of misplaced care
A shadow did declare
Its faith
Below the moon
For time wore down
The wishes
Like the wake
Of little fishes
Is there something
More delicious
Than the death
Of someone else

oh to sleep the night away
without dreams of yesterday
drifting quiet through the years
avoiding the knives and spears
cast by those in jealous rage
lost in battles that they wage
walking into morning's light
freed from demons of the night
turning gaze to open roads
as the day slowly unfolds
hoping now for something new
underneath the skies of blue
sometimes we cannot escape
all that's hidden in one's fate
but we hang on to the hope
that through this day we shall cope
always something in the air
here and there and everywhere
around bends rivers are bound
tomorrows wait to be found
people still search high and low
some move fast some move slow
but there's nothing there to find
the future's far from their time
waking on another morn
far from where we had been born
we'll find there's no magic wand
which returns to us what's gone
what's to come is in the wind
and surely has already been
