Ball Over Poems | Examples

Going Back in Time

If I could rewind
I’d join the little kind
And be a youngling again
Playing in the rain
With laughter larger than cares
With superstitions and fears
I’d do stuff that makes no sense
Like finally kicking the ball over the fence
And I’d be free of all responsibilities
As I chase after nonsensities
Because, for that fleeting window
I wouldn’t have to be a widow

Hilarious

On a whim, to prove once and for all
I took a beach ball
and placed on it a glass of water—
Please hold your laughter—
And then rolled the ball over,
Do you think the glass stayed put?
Even though it should!
Voila! It spilled the water all over.

That conclusively, demonstrably and logically proves
World is NOT round. It’s FLAT.
Otherwise, all the waters of the seas, rivers, lakes
would spill over
And make the skies all soaking wet;
You’ll have the fishes and crabs
falling from the sky!

And the world is going nowhere—
You see the same sun, same moon, same stars,
day in and day out;
The world doesn’t revolve,
It’s stationary. It’s pinned to the sky!
Otherwise, I would have long thrown up,
I suffer from motion sickness, you see.
There, I proved it!

Football - the Universal Game

This is Football,
                                        Rise Lay Fall,
                                        Just have ball,

                      The game is more about the fitness,
                         Which is not one easy business,
              Along with coordination, strength and stiffness,
               You need willpower, patience and swiftness,
                     Drilling the ball with complete calmness,
                   Hoofing the ball shows you are fearless,

           Chip shooting the ball over the opponent player head,
         Dirty shoes clits , clothes drenched in sweat & Blood shed
               This game can be played in sun, rain wearing tread,
             Thrilling ,amazing is the bracing goal from the head,
              The forward are like the hunters with a spearhead,
                  Middles are souls of the game who are dispread,
                 If the goalie misses the ball the team is dead,
               Teams give’s best shot for chances thin as thread,
          This game is very popular, enriching, fanatical and widespread.

THE FALL

Bowling the Maiden Over

Cricket is a game of love
Full of puns and innuendo
As a lass I’d love to bowl you over
By having you a maiden over
A couple of opening googlies
Spin balls should do the trick
Middle of the over adds
Two chesty bouncers to the mix
Fifth could be an angler
To draw a lovely catch
Sixth ball to earn a maiden over
What else but a full toss
Just to finish me off
Now all I need to know
With a six dot ball over
Have I won my maiden over

A Golfing Lover

A Golfing Lover

Have remembered being golfing lover;
His ball over stands did start to hover;
Tiger told tale,
Without fail;
Hit someone and was hard to recover.

Ball Is In Your Court

B-all is in your court,
I-t's time to make decision;
A-nother step is up to you,
N-ever ignore new action.
C-hoose the one right move, making no mistake;
A-fter deeply thinking that the vow you won't break.

L-ive up to your promise,
O-n the thirtieth of July;
Q-uest for the sacred truth,
U-sing not the devil's lie.
I-t's your opportunity,
N-ever turn the ball over;
A-im to do what is best,
R-eaching the final buzzer.
I-t's your call to select between fret and comfort;
O-pen your mind to solace, the ball is in your court.

Don'T Turn the Ball Over

M-ake no mistake in life,
E-ven in a basketball game;
R-emain in the right path,
L-ittle error can tarnish
Y-our name.

B-all is in your hands
O-ctober twenty-ninth day;
N-either arm will violate,
D-ribbling not in a wrong way.
A-llow not your feet to travel toward the false direction;
D-riving hard to the goal, charging not one in motion.

B-e careful with your action,
A-ware of every matter;
L-et your life be righteous,
D-on't turn the ball
O-ver.

Our Sun

Our Sun, a dawn glow, start of a distant show,
its rising strength, sun shines at length,
Bursting its flaming ball, over the mountains so tall,
sprouting bright rays in stacks, through crevices and cracks,
in all glory and power, the brightness starts to shower,
all over waters and land, spectacular glow so grand,
build-up of charging warmth a start, day begins in colorful art,
life consuming it’s energy, water vacuumed and plant life blooms,
all kind seeking shade from bright light and heat, soon twilight,
the finale, to a beautiful day of energizing warmth and display,
life slows, dark shadows, in anticipation of next days show of new light.

A Journey Into the Ny Mets

The game continued on TV in the Big Apple
I even talked my mother into watching it
   The N.Y. team played well and triumphed!
My team - the Mets - the one I support
   I played catcher 45 years ago
If I had focused more - who knows
   But one's makes one's decisions in life
You can't turn back the clock
   Until a time machine is invented
   Until we can roll back the years
   pay a visit to Hank Greenburg and Babe Ruth
as they blast the ball over the fence
thrilling the crowd - the masses of people who love baseball

Premium Member Not His Night

This was a night all pitchers hate.
He had trouble getting the ball over the plate.
When he did, the batters displayed their power.
The manager yanked him for an early shower.
This pitcher wanted to hide in an ivory tower.
In a few days, another game will come, fortunately.
Pitchers have no need for any memory.
He will just have to try all over again.
All baseball players are mere mortal men.

Premium Member Hurlers Beware

Hurlers beware, Ryan Howard is out there!
All the while, he can hit a baseball a mile!
Ryan is a threat, whenever he can get
his bat on the ball. He can send it over the wall.
With a powerful swing, this man can do his thing.
He brings runs in bunches. With contact, he crunches.
When Ryan hits a home run, other teams become undone.
He’s a pitcher’s nightmare as few would ever dare
to put the ball over the plate. Their inevitable fate
would be to lose the game. That would be a shame.
Just remember his name. Ryan is headed for great fame.

Cricket-Rounders

A new bloodsport in the town,
We call it Cricket-Rounders,
The bowler runs up to the pitch, (22 yard run)
And the bouncer surely crowds ya, (rising ball gets ya)

A cricket ball as hard as iron,
At a hundred miles an hour,
If it gets you in the head,
On ya grave we put the flowers,

So ya better wear head protectors,
Good gloves upon ya hands , (broke fingers)
Borrow Joel Garner from the West Indies yes, (world champ bowler, cricket)
He’d bowl ya outa the grand stand.

When ya run tween the bases, keep ya eyes upon the flic,
The ball is coming to knock ya down , with bruises bloody quick, (knock down yer out)
If ya hit the ball over the fence it’s a bloody six,
And to the boundary only four, so eat your weety bix, (3 strikes yer out)

11 men a side till they’re bowled or caught/knocked out,
Bruises are good for heroes, yes no bloody doubt,
A world wide game it is to be, a war on the field of battle,
Don’t forget to duck your head for sure,
Or yer brain might start to rattle…

Cricket bat or baseball bat for the batter. … Pad up…
