I’m popping out now, for my walk
Just around the corner
Take in the sights and breathe the air
Say hello to my favourite bench

The contrast I feel upon my skin
Spring is just around the corner
The warmth is nice, but the chill still cuts
The pale cloudless sky, it holds no clues

My cat’s favorite spot to sleep and surveil the house
was at the top of the hallway-to-basement stairs.
I would sometimes stealthily lie down on the floor
just around the hallway corner from her and wait.
No matter how quiet I tried to be,
she soon peeked around the corner,
her curious face mere inches

Saint Valentine's Day Is Around the Corner

We had Christmas about fifty days ago,
And then New Year's Day a week later.
Presently, it's Valentine's Day on the go;
Crazy lovers are planning to get together.

I'm sorry that numerous healthy plants will lose
Their petals, their perfumes and their flowers,
Which will be turned into bouquets. At the cruise,
Countless couples will dance until the wee hours.

Our mind is the most amazing part of our being
Able to astound the most cynical of souls
There is so much more to learn about it's function
About why some are more intelligent than others

Genetics are certainly part of the equation
What makes a serial killer, what makes a preacher
Are our brains significantly different

       longing for romance
   passion to light up my world
is it not the right time yet?

where is everybody
the streets are bare
so eerily apocalyptic
a post nuclear scene
winter lingers ~ in sunless crisis
a dreadful silence lurks
thick heavy clouds droop nigh
spring may not come
we may never recover
wait…
is that a crocus ‘neath that tree?

As I look through still trees and snow covered fields,
                  I search for your smile
Even in these empty places, there is still more to see
Snow folds in banks, along the long printed path

Altering air patterns
Crispier dusk tones
Nights’ earlier onsets
Sun’s late rises

Changing leaf colors
Trees’ fiery flairs 
Scattered acorns and pine needles
Halloween is around the corner

Ghosts and vampires 
Goblins, ghouls and skeletons
Webs of humongous spiders
Witches and Jack-o’-lanterns

Black cats lurk
Spooky bats and owls flutter
Crescent moon’s shiny silver

Pumpkin shades of orange, auburn and ginger

of the kitchen
peeking at me
