around the corner...just!

light brilliant...trees freshly brushed...
a breeze meandering through the grass...
a baby blue sky, an occasional cloud shaped and reshaped,
...a waterfall roars like a lion...its spray soft as a lamb.

around the corner...Just

a lovers breath against my neck...a lover's lies,
an ego lift...a seat on that pedestal men dream of...
a bold kiss...an us in a crowd...a lazy summer day
outdoor chairs...an overhead fan, an open door

around the corner...Just,

rollerblades...a mountain bike, a jaunt in the park,
a movie house...a why not...an invigorate,
a swim in a freezing cold lake...
a restaurant night...an evening walk, a club...

dancing...karaoke...being a little wild...

so many images paint my mind...

bittersweet
...my thoughts march one by one

to want something so bad
to fear it at the same time

Just around the corner

I get back my life,

just...

Around the corner
the loss of a life,

just around the corner...
yes I need to do that now,
yes I can wait longer yet...

responsible for her...
consumes the life I knew

the actors, the stage, the lights, the set, the techs,
a play, my life flow...directing stage.

Just around the corner my life waits for me
impatiently
Just...! Around that same corner, death waits for her
patiently

Be careful what you wish for...

Around the corner...just around the corner
two tears wait for me
one joyous...one mournful

Around the corner I want to be
Around the corner wait for me
not yet, caring for my mother...still she lives,
I can wait,
I can wait...

Around the Corner

As I walk downtown I see an alley
Where a black cat sat staring up at me,
The sound of her purring was so soothing
Lulled and hypnotized me how could that be.

With its green eyes lightning up the darkness
I saw a sign was hanging that said Tea,
It seemed to be just around the corner
In an alley that led down to the sea.

I walk and the black cat seems to follow
Awareness of her presence filled the air,
In a flash we turned around the corner
Where stood an old stone building with one stair.

I looked to find the feline now missing,
Then climbed the step and gently pushed the door,
Cobwebs hung from rafters on the ceiling,
The wind made dust balls race across the floor.

I noticed tea of all sorts lined each wall,
The smells of herbs and spices filled my nose.
Sitting in a corner sat a woman,
Glaring at me sniffing a thorny rose.

Her eyes an emerald green that sparkled
Her hair a shiny black darker then night,
By her stood a broom with crooked handle
My senses told me something was not right.

I turned and ran while saying I’m sorry,
It seems I’m lost forgive me and good day,
Hearing horrid screeches I am shaking
Running around the corner in late May.

Soaked with sweat I run out to the main street
People wonder why I’m carrying on,
As I shout loud, don’t go down this alley
I turn and notice that it now is gone.

Just Around the Corner

Maybe the most deadly disease is just around our corner
Carried to our doorstep by an unsuspected foreigner
Ebola is lethal with a fatality rate that is extremely high
If infected you have a 70% probability that you will die

Incubation period can span from one to forty two days
If stricken, severe flu like symptoms will leave you in a daze
Most symptoms will appear 8 to 10 days after exposure
Bleeding from extremities will have you praying for closure

There is no cure, a strong immune system is your best defense
Why there is still air travel from Africa truly makes no sense
Predicted cases to be about 1.4 million by January next year
An epidemic like we never seen is upon us, that is very clear

If this dreadful virus makes it to your corner. beware!
If stricken with this affliction be diligent not to share
If this disease become airborne, many millions will succumb
Our world will be left in disarray and left feeling utterly numb

*WHO changed the incubation period from 21 up to 42 days, be safe everyone.

What’s around the corner?
What’s just beyond our view,
For the soldier and the foreigner,
What’s ahead for me and you?
Two terribly tired turtles
Which wearily weathered wars,
Survived cyclical separations,
Regretfully raised rebellious rascals.
Seemingly securely safe-shelled,
Ironically intently imagining inside
Future failures, follies, fallouts
Won’t waste, wreck, wipe-out their world.
Keeping cool. Keeping calm. Keep continuing!
Blindly burroughing. Blindly blustering, believing
Learning lingers, life lingers, love lingers.
For the soldier and the foreigner,
What’s ahead for me and you?
What’s around the corner?
What’s just beyond our view?

The flower fairies congregate
around the lily pool then wait
until the stars' resplendent light
illuminate each floating pad.

To taste the sound of petals' song
how quietly... they drift along
above the grove, all clothed in flames
till pixies scatter dust on boughs.

And winging through the air-brushed haze
each little feather gleams anew,
their lacy sequins all ablaze
with varnished gauze of every blue.

Through morning's rise, they’ll fade from view
like stepping stones from me to you...
if you believe, glide far away
around the corner, there's a wand!

Is something wonderful in store for me?
I feel it near and almost hear the pulse of it!
What’s around the corner? What can it be?
So far, a butterfly, it only wants to flit.

I feel it near and almost hear the pulse of it.
It has to be so beautiful. It can’t be bad!
So far, a butterfly, it only wants to flit!
I race with time to find out something glad.

It has to be so beautiful! It can’t be bad. . .
Like Tony and Maria in the West Side Story,
I race with time to find out something glad -
to sparkle like a star that finds its glory!

Like Tony and Maria in the West Side Story,
I sing, “Tonight won’t be just any night.”
To sparkle like a star that finds its glory!
Surely round the corner cannot be plight!

I sing, “Tonight won’t be just any night!”
Aflutter with anticipation, I’ve found hope.
Surely round the corner cannot be plight.
Is destiny my friend, or am I just a dope?

Aflutter with anticipation, I’ve found hope.
What’s around the corner? What can it be?
Is destiny my friend? Or am I just a dope?
Is something wonderful in store for me?

Let's take this chance to relish color
Embrace the autumn while it's here
for soon, we'll need turn the corner
and find Jack Frost is waiting there

His frosty face will nip the air,
His slick rain coat will steal the show
He'll blow a wind to bring the snow
and trees will shed the golden glow

Let's count the stars upon the night
Before he snaps his fingers, twice
Let's bask in harvest moon's delight
before he turns the world to white

Relax among the fragrant grass
Pick pumpkins and an apple red
Throw frisbees high above your head
Let red and rust adorn your bed

Around the corner here he comes
He whistles winds, and likes his rum
He'll offer you a icy cone
But do beware, he schemes to own

He brings along a holiday
And loves to watch our children play
Let's run around the nearest corner
To see how long that he will stay

A snap of fingers, a snap of cold
Will stop us in our tracks, be warned
He calls the shots, and though he's old
He'll last until the sun is warm

Let's take this chance to soak the sun
before he spoils all the fun
The world will never be the same
until we wave goodbye again

Around the Corner

Around the corner but just out of view
We'll see what the future holds for me and you
It may be great yes it may be grand
It might be simple and quite bland

Around the corner but just out of view
What the future holds depends a lot on you
Will you be brave and overcome fear
Will you attack or stay in the rear

Around the corner but just out of view
The future is waiting to be written by you
Each life is the ink in the ball point pen
That flows from beginning and writes til the end

Around the corner but just out of view
Are decisions each make that effect quite a few
Each life is a tapestry of things we decide
Our hopes and our dreams that have come alive

Around the corner but just out of view
We'll face defeat and failure at least a time or two
It's how we handle the ups and the downs
That will determine if we have any crowns
Around the corner but just out of view

Around the Corner

Unsettling the days we live,
the whole world writhes in anguish;
hatred dances with brutality
and innocent children languish--
what lies around the corner?

Will the future be stolen
by evil bandits on the prowl;
does the bending before us
disguise an ending fair or fowl--
what lies around the corner?

Heart, refuse surrender;
continue marching on with joy.
"Be anxious for nothing."
God's word I will employ
for whatever lies around the corner.

Cold reality and despair lay around the corner.
Humanity's unclean sleep on its hardened edges,
holding crumpled cardboard signs, asking for money.
Those who believe themselves above it all, hurry,
to get a greater distance, as though trapped by
a predator stalking them for their lives,
and as they pass, they never look back,
fear leaves no concern.
Around this corner is a road, lined by old,
crumbling concrete, empty stores, with broken windows.
It's a hollow corner where garbage lays,
some tumbling by the passing cars,
left to stay languishing until the next car passes,
moving it further down the street.
The only building in use is occupied by a liquor store,
that has a blinking sign where only three letters work.
Happier times for this corner never was,
and will never be.
Even the poor stay away from its cold path,
leaving it to slowly decay.
Hope, there is none, only words painted on concrete walls,
that no one will ever read.
Around this corner hides death and those with body bags,
to remove them from a place where those who pass,
are above it all, detached from this world,
concerned only for their hurried lives.
As they pass some leave a couple of dollars,
dropping it into a cold whithered hand,
telling themselves they did a good thing today,
as they move through a world of despair,
around the corner.

Around the Corner

I know it's there
A ghostly vision
Waiting to jump out at me
Bones stripped bare with precision

This is the ghost of life past
My soul stripped bare
For all to see
Ready to jump out at me

My earthly sins revealed
The White lies I told
The love I can't conceal
To reveal, alas I am not that bold

Yes it waits, for me to despair
It waits, to remind me,
The past I can't repair
I wait for the dawn to rescue me

Dawn arrives the ghostly vision departs
Waving a stripped finger
Reminding me to put things right
I nod my head, it no longer lingers.

I can now turn the corner of life
To rectify my wrongs
To smile and maybe love anew
To live not just exist, once more sing songs

Around the Corner

A vile visage has been there since ages ago,
Around the corner, scythe in hand, waiting.
He knows life’s course must take me there
On a one-way journey I have been evading.

I cannot know when I must make the turn,
But age and health offer foreboding clues.
His countless clones harrow other corners
Waiting to collect mortality’s final dues.

A heart flutter reminds me of the corner.
Bone and blood perceive what is inevitable.
The finality that awaits is only a step away—
A chilling specter that’s gravely regrettable.

Around the corner

Past year memories,
Haunting solicitude,
Teary eyes,
Sinking heart,
Spooky gloom is,
around the corner !

Noise of a little drop,
A ray of sunshine,
Heart ceases to beat,
palpitations thereafter,
Pounces out of breastbone,
Scare is around the corner!

I can hear his footsteps,
As eyes glance at door,
Fragrance is in the air,
Moments of long wait,
Wake up of the dream,
Lonesomeness around
Every other corner !

Present turbulence
Occupying the skies
Like a madman's insolence
In pursuing his demise
Until his madness is silenced.

Electric atmosphere
Burdened by constant charges
Desperately seeking release
But peace remains at large
For our fears have yet to cease.

The heavens overcome by strife
Incurred by a low pressure
Keeping our spirits in restless plight
Thinking there is no answer
But the constant echo of repeating trials.

However around the corner
The sky will clear once again
For the sun once more will conquer
After the clouds have reached their aim
And discharge their load in showers.

Knowing such constance
Allows the heart not to fail
Under the pressure of turbulence
For strong its beating remains
Faith the key to its endurance.

A better atmosphere
Is always around the corner
Our fears come to cease
Unless we lose sight of the future
The time of peace will come to be.

There’s a mob around the corner… and it looks like they are coming here.
Yep! Dragon must be in trouble, tho I can’t imagine what, where, or when.
Must be rather serious, for pitchforks are definitely, coming around the bend.
Dragon! Dragon! Dragon! Oh! Whoa is me! Yep! Here we all… go again!

I surely, should be more careful, as Dragon escaped me early this very morn.
So I went out to meet them folks, and find out, what had gone, so very wrong?
What? Dragon accidentally hit an outhouse? And it rolled WAY down a hill?
There was someone within? He was the Sheriff of CrazyLand? No! Not HIM!

It seems we never win! But there’s more? Dragon finished his crash landing…
By Knocking down the town Water Tower, that serves all, both, near and far?
Then, on the way back home, he told the Sheriff he smells, and to get a bath!
I guess it’s WAY too late, to go home, to bed, and then to cover up my head?

OH MY! Well! Then! I’ll tell the Trolls to fix the Water Tower before it dark!
And YOU, our lovely Sheriff, can use our shower, since we have our own well.
And as for cooking food this day… Bring it here… for Grandpa Troll to make.
A block party would be perfect after all… Now, Really… Don’t you think?

So every thing turned out all OK… with so many nimble hands always about!
But Dragon had to repent… You see… And stay firmly there, beside my knee…
And yes… We even fixed that old out house! But, still… I’m grateful to say…
It all can stay around the corner… just like yesterday… and, soon… today!
