Earl's Winds and Waves

I went to the beach to check out the waves.  It is blowing really hard and the waves are high enough that alot of guys are catching some good ones.  It is such a reminder of hurricanes past.  I am praying for all of the people who are in the path of Earl.  Hopefully it wll die down  before it reaches land. I posted a few pictures on my blog.

Standing on the beach watching a hurricane come in is a mind blowing intense experience, the absolute wildness of nature unbound....

It is windy today. I haven't been to the beach yet, but I am sure the waves are crashing just like I like them. I am thankful that Earl is not as strong and it was and pray for the people who are just beginning to feel the effects of it.

Your photos are wonderful, and I know what you mean about being on the beach with the wind and the roar of the waves, it is an awesome power, but the potential for destruction is scary.. I live in Canada also, in the province of Ontario, far away from the ocean coast, so I am sure I am quite safe, but I pray for others that will be touched by this storm ~~

Yikes, well, there are fools (those in the water!) born every day. I was in the Vineyard last summer & folks were still playing in the water 2 drowned!The fasination of death.

Jerri, the clouds look quite ominous and there are quite a few Soup members in the Carolinas. You took some great photos, by the way. The surfers in Florida were loving it yesterday when we had waves of 8-10 feet. But it's very dangerous. My prayers go out to everyone in Earl's path. Love, Carolyn

Jerri its pretty choppy at Maryland beaches today.. here the East Coast up in Cape May may get hit hard... the winds are to be horrific..let us pray Earl takes a turn out into the ocean rather than the path Bob took a few years ago..luv...
