A Brand New Day

There’s always another sunset,
just beyond the clouds.
What color you never know,
until it touches the sky.
Red and yellow are just a few,
colors that make up the hue.
Never rushed or in a hurry,
it glides across the sky.
Shining off of the water,
as if colored with dye.
Spilled across the horizon,
line by line it starts to fade.
Dropping to the other side,
where a sunrise will awaken,
the dawn of a brand new day.

This is a beautiful poem, Jerri, I love each word, you need to write more of these beauties for us when you have time... I wanted to tell you how very sad I am to hear of the death of your brother, and so young, they say time heals, I am not sure about that, I have learned to accept the deaths of those I love but am I healed,?doubtful, but time does ease the pain, write your pain, dear heart, if you can, write it , that helped me so much~~

jerri, I see you were here briefly. Did you see the new pink evening contest? Your kind of poetry would suit that contest magnifciently. a 12 line free verse on pink evening and you only have to include a few words like solitary, love and eternity. Check it out!
