Beaches

Beaches

I watch as the waves crash onto the shore,
such force with which they ride.
The shells which lie so peaceful there,
are swept out with the tide.

In and out it continuously flows,
content yet stirring inside.
The waves they crash so furiously,
yet no one ere knows why.

Sometimes I stand and watch in awe,
the ocean's battle cry.
It is as if it never knew,
what beauties lay inside.

Perhaps one day the sea will quietly wash
onto the shore,
Stop to take a look and see,
there really is no war.

This one quite profound, jerri. I really enjoyed seeing your poetry of July! You seem very prolific. ARe you perhaps in Washington state? I lived there a long time ago as a child. (a very depressing state it was, too much rain!) Goodnight now. LUv, Andrea
