Crashing Waves

the sky was carolina blue
with the sun shining ever so
brightly over the ocean
the waves were crashing
loudly as if they were
angry with each other
as far as you could see
huge waves were making
their way onto the shore
their sound loud and distinct
carrying throughout the air
yet peaceful and calming
way down in your soul
as the cool clear water
washes onto your feet

Hi Jerri-- this sure is an amazing write about the waves-- I could definitely picture them in my mind's eye crashing into each other -- love how you depicted the sky too-- wish I was on a beach right now...wish you the best in the contest! -- nikko :)
