I LOVE animals, so I LOVE this blog, Billy. Some animals deserve heaven more than many humans that have ungraced this earth!! Love your pet pictures there.

After my father passed away from a long and painful fight with colon cancer, my hubby and I decided to buy a niche in a crematorium wall. It was costly and took years to pay off. But its done. We've also prepaid for our cremations (new rules safeguard the final cost so that no family member is gouged after we pass away.) I'm 50 and most of my friends stared at me like I was trying to wave down death, screaming at the grim reaper, "BRING IT ON!" When in fact I was just facing up to the fact, we all go eventually. That being said, life is good, and when it's my 'time to go' I'll be like my dad, fighting til the end. Unlike my mother who took her own life when I was still a teen.

Dad had an awesome sense of humour and rescued many kids-- after my mom passed away, my sister would befriend kids who were troubled. Sometimes, they'd sleep on the sofa. Dad never turned away a teen in need of just a roof and a hot meal.

My God Cyndi, if I wasn't still somewhat overwhelmed with my crap, I would give you more than just my shoulder to lean on. I would fully support you. You are an incredible Great Woman and a strong inspiration for lunatics like me.

So... my eggshell is going into a wall... my spirit will be celebrating elsewhere. I will thank my maker up close for all my moments ... the best and the hardest. I'll visit Billy on His rainbow bridge, too. Hugs. Later gator.

...so we're trying to scatter (quickly) these remains before we're seen and there are little bones in the ashes. Little PLOPS in the water as my dad tries to apply pressure to his wound. At the end of our private "ceremony?" We are crying.. the poem I wrote her, that I read out loud, felt empty and pointless as it was about "peace" and "healing." I'm reading it as my Dad bleeds and my sister is crying out, "how did this all go so wrong?!"

...but we didn't know the truth about cremation and we thought the 'ashes' would look like fine fairy dust, like on TV and in the movies... human remains are still human remains...

He didn't realize how strong the seal was. He trudges back to his car. He gets his fishing knife he used to descale fish. He tries to open the seals. The knife slips. He cuts his hand so badly it needed stitches... so finally we open the three urns and he's bleeding into the water where her ashes will be...

Eventually, we scattered them in a beautiful river hidden by a gorge.. but it went so badly. The urns (my dad had her ashes separated into THREE urns-- DADS! Cyndi shakes her head and rolls her eyes.)

Keith, my family had my mothers ashes for 15 years. We didn't know what to do with them and the responsibility was stressful and overwhelming. Even if you tell someone to spread ashes, say, from somewhere cool, the logistics is like a mission impossible episode as ashes are still human remains.

Trollana... like Nirvana but with more wit, sauciness and a je-ne-sais-quoi charm. Angels who wear leather and who like to be forthcoming, only whisper behind backs because someone twisted their arms out of their sockets. :DDD and that's enough of that. Hi Keith.

I like where you envision yourself, way down the road... too many animals need your help. You've got your work cut out for you down here away from the rainbow bridge. I just know there's a new animal you're going to meet up with soon, just around the corner...

I hope its a long long time before you go to Rainbow Bridge but I can't think of a better caretaker Billy. The idea of a memorial page is unique but who better to tell your stories than the person who made the page - I think you have created a new trend Billy!:-) hugs Jan xx
