Not Me But Mine

My heartbeat is within these lines,
rhythmic dances keeping time.
Like lovers drinking, out to dine,
I picture us, not ‘me’ but ‘mine’.
Spouting lyrics, oaths divine,
I wait and wish for some small sign.

Premium Member Wish I Had A Wish

Lyrics By JT Curtis

I Wish I Had A Wish

I wish I had the time
to write a little verse
making it a song
not short or very long
for better or for worse
But it probably wouldn't rhyme

I wish I had some money
Now, that would be a laugh
Growing from a tree
falling down, around on me
The Taxman would take half
Now,that's not even funny

I wish I had a friend
joining me to the finish
to take my hand when I've fallen
and come running as I'm calling
But in time, it would diminish
And I'm sure that it would end

Oh, I wish I had a wife
it would be a happy time
we could sit and talk for hours
see the world, and make it ours
But then the final crime
One of us, must loose our life

Oh, I wish I had a wish
I would put it on a plate
and serve it up to you
to see what you would do
something simple, something great
Or just leave it on the dish

Premium Member Wish I had Used My Coupon

I received a ten dollar off coupon for my birthday
It said I could even use it on a ten- dollar item!
Today I wished I had used it
when I saw the hardware store had gone out of business.
At this time of year there are usually outside plants all around the store.
Nothing was there, the signage was down, the windows showed empty shelves.
I wondered what happened to the cat who used to hide under the outside plants.

Tha 'thela na 'moun English version

I wish I were one of your breaths,
So I could flow through your body and fill you up with life
I wish I were a bead of your blood,
So I could travel through your heart, playful

Oh, to be the moonlight,
So in the nights I could sneak through your window
or to be the summer breeze,
So I could lay on your skin, steal your dream

But your eyes shine to another sky,
more distant,
that make me wish I were a part of your soul,
So I could live alone in Heaven
and be the reflection of all your desires

This way, every time you look at the mirror,
Search deep into your eyes, you'll find me somewhere
I will always be there, even when you cry
'Cause as they say the eyes are the mirror of the soul

But you don't know, oh, how much I'd love
to be a starry sea, to embrace you
To hold you tight, my foam to be your scent
And with my wave to drown you into kisses

A WISH

I made a wish
Upon a star that
The world would be
A better place
Filled with
Happiness and peace

Wouldn't The Storm Wish To Be Spring?

They see the storm, the pouring rain,
And whisper low, "Destruction again."
Yet who has thought when thunder cries,
It's nature's voice that fills the skies?

A desperate scream, a broken plea,
Begging for help, for harmony.
It never chose this fate of fear,
It's path was carved, it's end made clear.

The storm was never born to scare,
It only carried what it must bear.
For wouldn't it wish, if it had the say,
To bloom like spring, to shine like day?

To dress the earth in glitter and gold,
Make roses blossom, skies unfold
Not tear the petals, not dim the light,
Not turn the heavens to endless night.

It can't choose the wars it fights,
Not what it shatters in sleepless nights.
And that is why I love the rain,
The thunder's song, the storm's refrain.

I'd stand for hours beneath it's tears,
And listen close it calms my fears.
For as the earth must weep to mend,
So too must humans... to let go, to transcend.

Its how i wish

It’s how i wish
distance was never there.
I wish I could pull you closer
and whisper that I care.

Every now and then,
every thought of you
finds me missing you more.

It’s how I wish
I was right there beside you,
able to open my heart
and let you in completely.

Premium Member Sad Man's Desire

I stepped on someone's gum
Now I'm part of a nation
I slipped on a paving slab
Now I'm part of another nation
Not that it’s up to my liking
To change nations every day
But I can't argue if there are
So many nations that I don't have time to learn
Which one I'm a part of
At every moment of the day
Whose territories I appear on
And disappear without a care
I don't mean to disturb all that
Importance of power, those dour faces
That we are doomed to notice everyday
I don't mind if anyone is converted
To their familiar religions with those
Cruel gods created by state-minded prophets
In my view all this tormenting world
Was invented on purpose to spoil life
To intimidate us for no other reason
Than power of the immortal troublemakers
Evolution is impossible
Consolations are rubbish
This species is hopeless
Not the first, not the last to become extinct
I’m already gone fishing forever
Once I saw my eternal love’s face in the sky
I wish to become a weed
Growing on by a waterlogged stream.

I Wish I Knew

I wish I knew how acorns grew
Into a mighty oak,
But I’ve no clue and nor do you
Nor any other folk.

For certain seeds fulfill their needs
Yet take so long to grow
That, unlike weeds, our human speeds
Of life are much too slow.

We might take heart and see how smart
Are seedlings as they sprout,
But we’ll depart before they start
Their skyward branching out.

Simple wish

Even if tomorrow dies
Would that be where memory lies
And in the silence of late night
Hold a prayer for morning light

Strange the way time flies
It let's hope and dreams cry
In the desert sand lies
The sun in tears that dries

I still wait in vain for morn
The coming of another dawn
In which the outlines will be drawn
Dewdrops on the morning lawn

I really hope tomorrow comes
It's what ma heart yearn forlorn
